Allison | 14 comments I read this book 2-3 years ago. I thought the author was Lisa Kleypas or Susan Elizabeth Philips but didn't see anything like this in my read books or their book summaries, but that is not to say I just missed it.
I think the main female character was set up with the guy to boost his image and she was poor working in a hair salon, so they both had reasons to benefit from this relationship. I don't think she had kids. I remember a scene where he stayed the night and slept on the couch because they were concerned about her being home alone for the night for some reason.
As most adult romance books end, had a happy ending with the main characters together.
I saw Susan Donovan has a book, A Kept Woman, similar to this plot but it's not the right book.

Thanks for the help!

Melissa Matthews Lisa Kleypas' Sugar Daddy has the main character working in a hair salon and she is very poor. I don't remember anyone sleeping on a couch though. The person she works on the hair salon is much older and not the romantic interest in the book.

Allison, you can bump your thread every month or so to move it to the top of the list. That way it can get more viewers with fresh eyes.

A guess - Tipsy by Cambria Hebert?

Allison, can you tell us more about the hero - his job, personality, how they meet, family/friends, pets, etc.?

What's the tone of this romance - funny, angsty, erotic, love at first sight, can't stand each other, etc.?

Allison | 14 comments The guy needs an image makeover so needs to be seen dating a good girl - enter the heroine. I don't remember what he does. I believe they two of them are set up. It sounds do so much like the kept woman right?? But I swear that's not the same book just very similar

Allison | 14 comments It was a quirky angsty tone if I remember correctly. Definitely going to check out your suggestion. I'm hoping that's it!!

What's the guy's job or backstory, and why does he need a makeover?

Are the heroine and hero strangers when he enters the salon?

message 12: by Allison (new)

Allison | 14 comments I don't remember his back story. I want to say politics but not sure (also why I was do sure the kept woman was it!) Something that needed an image boost.
And yes, strangers to each other

Allison, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

message 14: by Allison (new)

Allison | 14 comments Still looking. I think I remember that the guy needed an image makeover bc he played professional sports. Maybe football?

Allison ~~
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 176 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
