Babs (babs_uk) I've just read The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Very quick read, but a decent book.

Viv JM I'm going to read Heart of Darkness which has the bonus of being free on the Kindle (in the UK at least)

message 53: by Steve (new)

Steve Cardamenis (shead57) | 18 comments I choose to read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I really enjoyed it!! A true classic and a frightening journey into the mind and demons of one man. Highly recommend for this task

message 55: by Raeann (new)

Raeann (thedenialtwist) | 1 comments I went with The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me for this one! Roald Dahl is usually always a good choice.

message 56: by Karen (new)

Karen (karenarrowood) | 8 comments I hope this one counts. I just read Father Mine. This is an ebook-only novella.
GR says it is 91 pages. Amazon is on drugs - they state the print length is 496 pages - not!

I read this today! I loved it - the cover of the book matches the view outside my window, I love how she captured the essence of Oregon so perfectly. :)

message 58: by Dixie (new)

Dixie (dixietenny) Read Mark Doty's "Still Life With Oysters and Lemon" at the recommendation of a friend. 70 pages, intense, really excellent.

Oh! I've been meaning to pick that up. I may use that. otherwise, I'll probably read The Ones who Walk Away From Omelas, since I love Le Guin, and this is one of hers that I've never gotten to.

message 60: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 33 comments For this task, I'm reading A Prayer Journal by Flannery O'Connor.

Brandi Blair | 2 comments Another Easy 2-Fer today. The Yellow Wallpaper.

Janet I just finished 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

message 63: by Elle (new)

Elle (elleay) | 68 comments I finished The Little Prince last night. It's been on my TBR list for a LONG time - now it's going on my All Time Favorites list. Loved this little gem of a book.

message 64: by Meghan (new)

Meghan J. | 9 comments Do you guys think a novella for a series counts for this category??

message 65: by Janet (new)

Janet Meghan wrote: "Do you guys think a novella for a series counts for this category??"
I do.

message 66: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (bangalee57) | 5 comments I'm starting on The Pearl by Steinbeck for this task. It looks intriguing.

message 67: by Cheryl Daly (new)

Cheryl Daly | 12 comments I enjoyed Ethan Frome. Humorous undertones. My copy was 70 pages.

message 68: by Lisa (last edited Jan 24, 2016 08:05AM) (new)

Lisa | 3 comments I happened to walk by The Terrorist's Son: A Story of Choice at the library. Normally I would have skipped right over it, but I picked it up because it was under 100 pages, and am so glad I did. I just want to give this man a hug.

message 69: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 120 comments Just read The Sleeper and the Spindle - beautiful illustrations, and a powerful new take on the fairy tale genre. And honestly, I'd read anything by Neil Gaiman, even if he re-wrote the phone book! I highly recommend!!

Elle (elleay) | 68 comments Ashley wrote: "Just read The Sleeper and the Spindle - beautiful illustrations, and a powerful new take on the fairy tale genre. And honestly, I'd read anything by Neil Gaiman, even if he re-wrote..."

Yep, I'm of the same mind about Neil Gaiman. The Sleeper and the Spindle is on my TBR list, but will soon be on the Read list.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going for a quick read from the library its only 81 pages Hello Mum it sounds interesting

message 72: by Henriette (new)

Henriette Terkelsen (henrietteterkelsen) | 3 comments I read Adichie ' We should all be feminists' for this one. Also covers 19: Read a nonfiction book about feminism or dealing with feminist themes.
We Should All Be Feminists

message 73: by Susan (new)

Susan | 5 comments I read Seth Godin's Poke the Box. I'll save you the trouble. At 84 pages, it's about 83 pages too long. The wildly simplistic premise is this: come up with an idea; execute it; you might fail; do it anyway. Did you know that famous people like Oprah Winfrey sometimes fail but keep trying new things? The most interesting part is a full page quote from Cory Doctorow. Aside from that, don't bother.

message 74: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 416 comments I read 'The Tale of Ragnar's Sons' translated by Peter Tunstall, at http://www.northvegr.org/sagas%20annd...

message 75: by April (last edited Feb 03, 2016 06:15AM) (new)

April (apriltara) | 14 comments I'm pretty sure We Should All Be Feminists counts so I'll read it for this task.

Edit: Just read it this morning, took about 20 minutes. :)

Highly recommended. Contains excellent points about what it means to be feminist and why feminism is so important.

message 76: by Callie (new)

Callie (westmeteast) | 6 comments I just finished Darkness Visible: A Memoir of Madness for this task.

I read Tolstoy's What Men Live ByWhat Men Live by and Other Tales

message 78: by Liz (new)

Liz | 11 comments I didn't realize when I put the book on hold that it was less than 100 pages, but I completed # 11 with No Honor Among Thieves by J.A. Jance. I always enjoy her mysteries, even this short one.

message 79: by Mary (new)

Mary Foxe (fargreencountryswiftsunrise) | 3 comments I read Meg Mackintosh and the Stage Fright Secret: A Solve-It-Yourself Mystery by Lucinda Landon. I really enjoyed the series when I was younger and I am hoping to finish all the published novels this year.

message 80: by Mary Sue (new)

Mary Sue | 61 comments I read Heart of Darkness for this task. This was the longest <100 pages ever - I did not like it at all. The only upside it that I get to check another book off the list of 1001 books you must read before you die.

message 81: by Sophia (new)

Sophia | 62 comments A friend recommended A Late Verdict, by Milo Bell. It's a good quick read at 73 pages and is reminiscent of classic mysteries like those by Agatha Christie. The author captured the feel of the time period and created a nice twisty story. Will look for more by him in the future.
A Late Verdict by Milo Bell

message 82: by Kristine (new)

Kristine | 12 comments I readBummer & Lazarus: San Francisco's Famous Dogs, a great little piece of early San Francisco history - charming and interesting!

message 83: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (maureencean) I tried to read Notes from Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, but I failed miserably. Back to the drawing board!

Leslie (updates on SG) (leslie_ann) | 153 comments Elle wrote: "I finished The Little Prince last night. It's been on my TBR list for a LONG time - now it's going on my All Time Favorites list. Loved this little gem of a book."

The Little Prince is one of my all-time favorite books. I first read the book in HS French class, and have reread it many times (in English) since then.

message 85: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (maureencean) Settled on The Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway. Should have started with it in the first place!!
Hope to finish tonight.

message 86: by Leslie (updates on SG) (last edited Feb 23, 2016 09:50AM) (new)

Leslie (updates on SG) (leslie_ann) | 153 comments Fans of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy could apply one of the related short novels: Once upon a Time in the North, The Collectors, Lyra's Oxford.

message 87: by Julia (new)

Julia (readingover50) | 23 comments I am reading The Girl on the Glider by Brian Keene.

message 88: by Artist_carrie (new)

Artist_carrie (takergirl) | 2 comments The Girl with the tinted Green hair. Was my pick I did so love it!

message 89: by Louise (new)

Louise (atrixa) I found a new one for this challenge! There's a Ladybird series for adults. I picked The Hangover, which is 52 pages.

message 90: by Rainey (new)

Rainey | 241 comments OMG that series is hilarious.

message 91: by Louise (new)

Louise (atrixa) The reviews look promising!

message 92: by Rainey (new)

Rainey | 241 comments One of the Brits at work brought in 3 of them.

Tears in my eyes laughing so hard.

message 93: by Katie (new)

Katie | 6 comments I might read Seven Brief Lessons on Physics - figure it can count as my science book too.

message 94: by Ironinklings (new)

Ironinklings | 4 comments Katie, I just heard about Seven Brief Lessons on Science Friday and thought it might be a good choice, too. I love science, but I don't know very much about Physics.

message 95: by Katie (new)

Katie | 6 comments Me too, I never took it in high school or college. I definitely feel like it's a hole in my education!

And you get your book about politics box ticked too!

message 97: by Alayna (new)

Alayna (alayna_m) | 4 comments Apparently I don't own any books under 100 pages, which is a bit surprising. I think I'm going to pick up The Little Prince from the library for this challenge. The movie previews look adorable and I always try to make a point of reading the books before I go see the movie adaptations.

message 98: by Emily (new)

Emily (myfavebooks) | 24 comments I just finished such a great book for the middle-grade novel task (Wonder) that I am reading the next "chapter", I guess you'd call it a novella, for this challenge: The Julian Chapter. It's so fun how reading one book can lead to another in this challenge; and/or open up an entire genre I'd never even considered before.

message 99: by Michael (new)

Michael (union_cannoneer) | 25 comments I picked Roverandom by J.R.R. Tolkien for this one. The text itself is under 100 pages and the rest is just notes.

message 100: by Mel (new)

Mel (metermouse) | 13 comments Since it just came out and I'm excited to read it, I am planning on Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell
