Cindy (cindyd) I'm debating how to approach my reading for 2016. I was thinking of using a random number generator each month, where the number would correspond to a letter of the alphabet (1=A, 2=B, etc) and I would start at that letter each month and go forward through the alphabet picking titles until the month is over.

That's a really interesting idea... I may have to steal it one of these months.

I love your idea Cindy.

Cassandra | 5832 comments That's a super interesting idea! I'm always looking for cool things to help me clear off my massive to-read list. You'll have to let us know how you like it if you decide to go that route.

Good luck with your challenge!

Jackie B. - Death by Tsundoku (reiwing2040) | 1343 comments I concur with everyone else; that's a very creative idea for managing the TBR list. For 2016, I'm having my significant other and my roommate both pick a book off my shelves for me to read each month. That will help push my comfort zone a bit, as well as knock some books off the shelves.

Good luck with your challenge Cindy!

I really like that idea, Jackie. I may have to have my sweetie pick a book for me each month. ☺

Jackie B. - Death by Tsundoku (reiwing2040) | 1343 comments Oooh, that's cool-- reading the books with alphabetical titles from H. I have stayed away from A-Z challenges because they seem so large.... they tend to intimidate me. O_o

Good luck, Cindy!

Cindy (cindyd) Books for February

I started the first book of the month in January.

Maeve's Times: In Her Own Words Maeve's Times In Her Own Words by Maeve Binchy

Then I got the number 24 from the random number generator which would be a book starting with X. I don't have any books that start with X, so I skipped to Y and went forward from there.

The Year of the Book The Year of the Book by Andrea Cheng

No Z book title, so I skipped to A.

Absolutely Truly Absolutely Truly (Pumpkin Falls Mystery) by Heather Vogel Frederick

Started B, but it wasn't very good, so I skipped to C.

Coraline Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Dumplin' Dumplin' by Julie Murphy

Eleanor & Park Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

From Elvis To Elvira: My Life On Stage From Elvis To Elvira My Life On Stage by Richard Sterban

Guitar Notes Guitar Notes by Mary Amato

Happily Ever After Happily Ever After (The Selection, #0.4, 0.5, 2.5, 2.6) by Kiera Cass

I used the randomizer and got 8 which is the letter H.

In the Unlikely Event In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume

Joy in the Morning Joy in the Morning by Betty Smith

I read this book for another challenge.

Cindy (cindyd) Books for June

I started this in May.

The Magician's Book: A Skeptic's Adventures in Narnia The Magician's Book A Skeptic's Adventures in Narnia by Laura Miller

I got 20 on the randomizer and that is T.

The Truth About Alice The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu

The Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green The Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green by Joshua Braff

Verdun: The Lost History of the Most Important Battle of World War I, 1914-1918 Verdun The Lost History of the Most Important Battle of World War I, 1914-1918 by John Mosier

The previous book took me a long time to read because while I was very interested in the subject matter, the author was rather pompous and condescending. I got a little annoyed and just wanted to read books, so I ignored my next letter and just read some books that I have had for awhile and haven't read.

The BFG The BFG by Roald Dahl

Father's Arcane Daughter Father's Arcane Daughter by E.L. Konigsburg

We Fought Back Teen Resisters of the Holocaust We Fought Back Teen Resisters of the Holocaust by Allan Zullo

The Ghost of Alcatraz The Ghost of Alcatraz by John Dekker

Audio book:

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson
