So this one has completely stalled and failed.. haha...nat made it too difficult...so it was the young adult / new adult book Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire...is there any one else who wants to have a go... feel free :)
This one will be easy too for those who have read the book:"I was born twice: first, as a baby girl, on a remarkably smogless Detroit day in January of 1960; and then again, as a teenage boy, in an emergency room near Petoskey, Michigan, in August of 1974."
Need some clues? The author's initials are J.E. He's American and won the Pulitzer Prize for this novel, written in 2002. The first sentence is a good hint about the book's name and content.Phrynne, Bette and Suzanne have read it and it's on a lot of other tbrs.
I have indeed read it. It is from Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
This should be an easy one:)
Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun."

The only classic that comes to mind is one of McCaffrey's? I devoured her books when I was young but I can't remember if one of the dragonriders was called Lessa or which book she was in.

Yes! Well done, Dale!
Oh yes, I realise that, but he'll see it eventually when he has time to go back on line. Just thought it was good to keep things moving unless someone knows the answer.
Brenda wrote: "I know another Chinese American female author - Tess Gerritsen"Just learned something new! I didn't know she is Chinese American. I'm sure there are quite a few more I should be thinking of and it'll be really obvious when Michael tells us.
