Here's one from a well known book published in 1977 that a number of people read earlier this year:"On December 8th, 1915, Meggie Cleary had her fourth birthday."

Seems like I might have to add some clues. This was a winner of the Children's Book Council award some years back. Written by a female Aussie author who is sadly no longer with us.

As a clue it is an Aussie female author.
Seems like this has stalled. Another clue. It was published in 2015.
