Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Let Atticus, Scout and Jem help you find the right book

when you ask for picks - let me know if you want Atticus, Scout or Jem to pick for you

Charity | 577 comments Hi Dee! Landed on your property...would like 4 books to pick from. Thank you! Wonderful little town you have here.

message 4: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments yay - would you like Atticus/Jem or Scout?

message 5: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments here you go - i'm channeling Atticus

Othello - i could see him making a case for the defense of both Iago and othello
Catch-22 - how i think he might have felt at times
Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation - i'm betting if he was a teacher, this would be his favorite book
All My Puny Sorrows

message 6: by Charity (new)

Charity | 577 comments Thanks Dee!

Hi, Dee. I'm visiting your property and would like 3 books chosen for me from my shelf. How about letting Scout pick?

message 8: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Here you go Bea

A Thousand Acres - so much space for Scout to explore
The Secret Keeper - she is very attune to secrets being kept by people
Innocent in Death - for all her town interactions she is still innocent

message 9: by Bea (new)

Bea | 5296 comments Mod
Since I own A Thousand Acres, I will read that one.

message 10: by Matt (new)

Matt Mullins | 139 comments I landed on your space. How about letting Jem pick for me ;)

Three books please. Thanks!

message 11: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments ok, channeling a young boy (I think Jem was like 12)

if he was a modern boy, i bet you'd find Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on his bookshelf

since both he and Scout spent a lot of time outside - Stumbling Thru: Hike Your Own Hike

The Catcher in the Rye - written in the 1950's, its entirely possible this book would have been required reading for him in school

Thanks Dee!

I'm going to continue the Harry Potter theme as ib am finishing book 6 now and go with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Hi Dee, could I have 3 picks please?

bookopoly shelf

TIA :D

message 14: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments since we only have 3 books in common on your shelf...and i've only read 1 of them...

The Invention of Wings - loved this and the audio was almost perfect
Raelia - highest rated on your shelf
For Love of Country - because it has zero ratings and needs some love

message 15: by Tien (new)

Tien (tiensblurb) | 9032 comments Mod
Thanks, Dee!
The last 2 are ARCs hence the highest & zero ratings lol
I'd probably go for Raelia since I've just finished the first book the other day and am looking forward to check out the next instalment :)

message 16: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments i kind of figured...

i will say, i got a review audiobook a while back (the narrator is a current fav); the book has been out for like 3 years and 0 reviews

It's amazing how different people's shelves are!

message 20: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 37 comments Hi Dee - I've landed on your square. Could Atticus pick three books for me please?

My shelf is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 21: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments hi Nancy Helen!

A Cold Dark Place - with a series like cold justice, it seems appropriate with Atticus being a lawyer
My Unconquerable Soul - because Scout saw her dad as unconquerable
The History of Things to Come - because Atticus would be a guy who reads history and tries to avoid repeating mistakes from the past

message 22: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 37 comments I love how you've themed the choices. Brilliant! I think I'll read The History of Things to Come because it is rated so highly. Thank you!

message 23: by Lisette (new)

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Hi Dee. I landed on your property. Could you please pick 3 books for me from my shelf?

bookopoly shelf - 4 picks pretty please

message 31: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments lol! i'll pick for both of you...since i'm still lagging behind in one of my picks - if either of you finish before me (and don't own 2 properties), this will become yours ;)

message 32: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Corelei:

The Aeronaut's Windlass - the only one on your bookopoly shelf that i've read...
The Master Butchers Singing Club- because its on my TBR pile
The Blackwater Lightship

message 33: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Tien:

White Hot Kiss
Hanover House
I, Morgana - cause there has been a lot about King Arthur in the news recently
Risuko: A Kunoichi Tale

message 34: by Coralie (new)

Coralie | 1658 comments Thanks Dee, I will probably go with The Aeronaut's Windlass but I doubt that I will finish it in a hurry.

message 35: by Lisette (new)

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Hi Dee. I'm back for more :) Can Scout please pick some books for me from my shelf?

message 36: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments hi Lusie

A Caribbean Mystery - because Scout has been attracted to mysteries
The House Between Tides - because it sounds like a title Scout could be intrigued in
Unintended Consequences - beause Scout learnt a lot about consequences during the course of TKAM

message 37: by Lisette (new)

Lisette (illusie) | 3233 comments Thank you!! I'm not sure yet, I think I'll read A Caribbean Mystery or The House Between Tides

Dee, I think I will read The Periodic Table; I own this book, and it will help me with Book Hunt and another group's challenge.

message 44: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments FYI - i'm delinquent in reading 2 of my books - so if you finish before I do, then you'll get one of my squares (assuming you don't own 2)
