Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 565 comments I finished my first book for this month, Armed and Fabulous (Lexi Graves Mystery, #1) by Camilla Chafer , and will give it 5 stars... and add another series to my FWYS list... LOL

Penumbra | 486 comments Finished Interlude with Tattoos (A Charm of Magpies, #1.5) by K.J. Charles . It's very short but entertaining, especially if you read the first book in the series. I gave it 4 Stars.

Susan A | 2091 comments ❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Lothaire Dacianoღ♥ღ

I finished both picks.

Affiliations, Aliens, and Other Profitable Pursuits Jan 7 ★★★★★ I find the world building in this series fascinating, especially the aspect of translation.
Part & Parcel Jan 12 ★★★★ I really want a half star here because 3.5 seems more like what I want to give it --better than run of the mill, but not a book I will be looking to re-read.

Thanks for the picks

Elizabeth | 489 comments just finished The City Centre (The New Agenda, #1) by Simone Pond The City Centre Simone Pond give it a half star .

Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 565 comments Finished my second selection for January... Roadtrip to Redemption (Pawleys Island Paradise) by Laurie Larsen . This was another 5 stars read for me. very down to earth and cozily spiritual and romantic. Makes me wonder sometimes why I pick these books and then don't read them right away. It was like a special treat to get around to reading it! I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Christian romances.

The Z Club by J.W. Bouchard by J.W. Bouchard 1/17/16

I thought this was a great zombie book. A group of friends often get together in a cemetary and just discuss all the different types of zombies there have been in movies. Then, lo and behold, a missing chinese shuttle falls into their town and BAMM! Zombie outbreak. The part at the end with patient zero was way out there and I wish it was explained a bit more, but it was a better B-rated book than I was expecting

Joanna | 43 comments I finished both books. The Silkworm (Cormoran Strike, #2) by Robert Galbraith gets 4 stars and Year of the Tiger (Paul Chavasse #2) by Jack Higgins 3 stars :)

message 158: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I've finished all three of my books now, with last night's completion of Walk Through Fire. It was a mixed bag, but got me up to date on three series, so I'm good with that.

Frederica by Georgette Heyer
Frederica
My Rating: ★★★★☆
Date Finished: 1/07
Final Thoughts:
This was snarky and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Felix stole the show for me though. I just adored that kid!

The Paper Magician (The Paper Magician Trilogy, #1) by Charlie N. Holmberg
The Paper Magician
My Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Date Finished: 1/21
Final Thoughts:
I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. It was just okay for me. The author didn't really do well explaining things. It's like blah blah happened then blah blah happened... because I said so. And the romance aspect.... eh. Didn't buy it. I felt zero chemistry. Zilch. Despite all that I still plan on reading the second book

Glad you liked Frederica. Heyer is a classic! And thanks for the input on Paper Magician. Think I'll skip it.

Nichole | 1862 comments V, I finished both of my picks! I enjoyed both of them very much, thank you!!

A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland - 4 stars.
So sweet. Very good on audio!

Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1) by Pierce Brown - 4 stars.
I wavered on 3 or 4 stars, but the writing is so well done that I had to give it 4. I think the next book will be even better!

VampAmber | 622 comments Finished my first pick, Kitchen Confidential Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain (it's going to be one of those finished at the last minute kinda months, it would seem). Holy crap, looooooooved it. I kinda figured I would, though, considering the fact that I adore Tony Bourdain in almost anything where he talks, and writing is like talking. But yeah, definitely hafta get ahold of more of his books now. And marathon No Reservations. <3 <3 <3

Don't Let Go (SEAL Team 12, #5) by Marliss Melton
Book: Don't Let Go by Marliss Melton
Date Finished: 1/16
Rating: ★★★
Comments: I have enjoyed this series so far but this wasn't my favorite. The writing was good but the heroine had some TSTL moments and the hero took quite a bit to warm up to. He turned out just ok for me. The storyline was good and I enjoyed the secondary romance.

The Dream Crafter (Entwined Realms, #2) by Danielle Monsch
Book: The Dream Crafter by Danielle Monsch
Date Finished: 1/28
Rating: ★★★★
Comments I enjoyed this book and really liked the characters. I like the world building in this series although I am having a little bit of a hard time remembering who is who in the overall story arc. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and the books have been spaced out quite a bit. I liked both the h/H in this one and the romance. It was quick but still believable. Looking forward to the next book.

Hi Kathy D - I finished both books this month. Even though I rated them the same, I really enjoyed Worth the Risk, but Protected by a Seal was just meh. Think of one as a really low 3 and the other as a really high 3 :-)

Worth the Risk (The Game, #4) by Emma Hart - 01.31 ★★★
Protected by a SEAL (Hot SEALs, #5) by Cat Johnson - 01.19 ★★★
