Bethany was next to Jasper and Yasik when the former released Jasper's wings. When she stabbed him, she gasped, covering her face. She thought he was going to die, and shse didn want to see it. When he spoke, she rushed over to him, trying to figure out what to do.
[[just to clarify, Jasper's pretty much nailed to the wall by his wings]]Jasper looked down at his jacket where a pager could be found. "Call...Trish," he said again in a hoarse voice. He could see Bethany struggle, but he didn't know what to say. At the moment he was incapacitated and Bethany was far from 100% too.
Bethany took her hands away from her face and nodded. She found the pager and immedaitely found Trish's contact number. "T-trish! You have to come now!@ she said frantically into the phone.
Trish arrived quickly, using the GPS in the device. She could smell the stench of rotting flesh as well as blood...lots of blood. As she got closer to the warehouse, she drew her weapon ready for anything. Cautiously, opening the door she said, "Hello? Jasper? Bethany?" She didn't wait for an answer as she surveyed the place. It was quite large with boxes scattered here and there.Finally she found them in a corner of the building that was cleared away. Upon seeing Jasper pinned to the wall, she rushed over. "What the hell happened!" She immediately pulled both knives out of Jasper's wings. He fell heavily forward and she caught his weight. "Bethany, help me carry him back to the car," she instructed.
"Y-yeah," she said, helping her as much as she could. She was still trembling, and it took all of her willpower not to burst into tears. She just wasnt cut out for this stuff! She was supposed to be a regular college student, with a 3.8 gpa and a good future! Not blood and gore! And demons and angels! When helped lay japser down, she sat next to him, bringing her knees to her chest. She watched Jasper for any sign of life. She could see him bresthing and was relieved. "Are... Are you okay?" She asked hesitantly.
[[sorry failed to notify me]]Jasper wasn't there. He was asleep, resting to recuperate. Instead Trish replied, "He'll be fine. I've seen him go through worse. The question is, are you okay?" Trish could tell that Bethany was being overwhelmed completely and pulling into herself. Trish knew that she was caving in on herself, "You know, there's a way to break the bloodline so that your bloodline won't have a contract with Jasper. He never told you that because he values your bloodline being he's served your family for generations. But if it's really too much and you can't fight, you're just endangering Jasper and yourself. If you really want, you can break the connection."
"I dont... I dont know what to do... I dont people like Yasik--" she shuddered at his name, "--coming after me, but i dontthink im meant for this kind of thing. I dont know if i would ever to be able to do any good," she mumbled, looking up at Trish.
Trish didn't know what to say. Bethany's mother was similar in that she was unprepared to take up the mantle, but since she had Bethany to keep safe, she worked hard to become a fierce warrior. There was no doubt in Trish's mind that Bethany could do the same if she wanted to. She stayed quiet not knowing what to say to the girl.
"What do you think i should do?" She asked Trish, looking up at her. "Maybe... Maybe i could try... For Jasper..." She added, looking back at him. "He got hurt because i was stupid enough to let him. I cant let that happen again."
Trish sighed and thought for a second, "If you can't fight, you shouldn't force yourself. Once the contract's broken, you won't be a target and Jasper can be free to find a new contractor family." Trish knew that something went terribly wrong during the confrontation. She only wanted what was best for the both of them and it seemed like Bethany quitting was the most logical answer.
"I have to... I cant be such a baby and try to walk my way out of things. I dont ever want to see Yasik again, but if i have to, i wonder rather it be not when im alone," bethany said, making up her mind.
Trish was hesitant to give her support since she believed that Bethany couldn't live up to her words. But if Bethany wanted to try, all the credit to her. Trish turned her attention to the task at hand saying, "Once Jasper recovers, you'll have to make the contract. Then you'll have to train with him." She thought for a second before turning the corner where the hideout was.
"Okay," Bethany replied, trying to sound strong. She knew thst she needed to, for Jasper's sake.
Trish pulled into a secret garage and parked the car. She got out and called someone over. Two men appeared and carried Jasper out. They were dressed pretty normally except for an armband that showed they were medics. Trish didn't follow them, instead she went into another room and disappeared.
Bethany didnt really know where to go, and after a whils of debating, she decided to follow Trish. Bethany opened the door cautionly and stuck her head in. "Hey... Can I come in here?" She callled hesitantly.
Trish was talking with a man who looked quite menacing. She looked at Bethany saying, "Um. you should have gone with Jasper." The man's face was hidden by a shadow. The two stared at her awkwardly before turning back to their conversation."He'll die," the man stated bluntly.
Trish looked determined, "She'll pull through. Remember her mother? She was just like her."
"That was different. She had something to fight for, this girl doesn't. The best thing for her is to return to a normal life...at least as normal as she can get."
"Oh," she muttered, leaving quickly. She closed the door and went where she thought jasper was taken.
Jasper was taken to a smaller white room. He was still bloody, but he wasn't in much pain. He was hooked up to a machine of some sorts as well as an IV. On a white bed, Jasper slept peacefully.
Bethany saw on the cot and bit her lip. She sat down on the floor next to the bed and waited for him to wake up.
Jasper woke up an hour later. He sat up slowly and began to stretch and his body began to crack. It actually felt pretty good. He didn't mind as much. Moving around, Jasper noticed Bethany sitting on the floor. "How are you," he asked as he looked at what was left of his clothes. They were dirty and falling apart. "I should wash up shouldn't I?" Jasper noted as he got up. He looked fine as far as one could tell. To reassure Bethany he said, "I'm not that easily killed." He added a smile hoping that it would help.
Bethany smiled back, just the tips of her mouth turning up. "You probably should. But do you feel okay?" She asked, standing up.
Jasper smiled warmly as he stood, seemingly fine. "I'm going to clean up. I'll only be a few minutes." He then disappeared into a back room which had a shower and a change of clean clothes. Once the door was clothes, Jasper examined the damage. It was bad, but he'd survive. After a few minutes, Jasper reappeared with damp hair and in new clothes. He looked good as new. One wouldn't be able to tell that just a few hours ago he was on the brink of death.
((IM SO SO SO SORRY I HAVENT BEEN ON!!))Bethany looked a little confused when Jasper came back into the room. She hadnt moved from her spot, and blantently stared at him. "Did earlier even happen?!" She asked, rubbing her temples.
"Excuse me?" he asked confused at her question. Was she going through a period of denial or was she just clueless? Whatever the reason behind it, Jasper was unsure how to answer the question. As he towel dried his hair a bit, Jasper continued, "Well the safe house is no longer safe. Where to now?" the last part was more for him than her, but it was a valid question that both could answer.
"I... I dont know..." She replied. She brought her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. "Jasper, Im scared. I dont like not knowing what is going to happen.."
Jasper understood that she was scared, but he didn't know what to do. His partners were never this young and this inexperienced. Her grandmother was prepared for the task of a contractor. As he stared at her, he wondered what he could do to help. Taking a seat next to her, Jasper said in a soft almost compassionate tone, "Everything'll be alright. We'll make it through."
"Are you sure?" She asked. This was the nicest she had ever seen him, so of course she didnt want to ruin the moment, but the question had to be asked. "Im just not cut out for this... I want to be! I really do, but I just dont know how that could happen! I dont even understand everything thats going on..."
He didn't know what to tell her. It was either toughen up or give up. Whichever she chose would impact their lives. At the rate they were going, Jasper began to think her giving up was the best idea. Despite his thoughts, he wanted her to take charge and stand up. He imagined her stronger and more like her parents, but at the moment she wasn't cut out for the stress of being a contractor.
Bethany raked her hands through her hair. "I probably seem like a big wimp..." She mutrered. "Were my parents like this?" She asked, turning around to look at Jasper.
"Your mother was at first, but she stepped up. Again, when you came along, it gave her more of an incentive to get stronger. Your father as well, when he first got involved. For both of them, they had something to protect and a reason for their overcoming fear and obstacles," Jasper explained. That was something that her parents had; something to protect. He wondered if Bethany even had something like that being an orphan and all.
"Oh..." She said, looking away. She wasnt sure if she even had some incentive or reason for choosing this lifestyle. She needed one, and she knew it.
Jasper could tell that she was sad, but he didn't know what to do. Sitting silently, Jasper finally broke the awkwardness by saying, "It's getting late. We're both exhausted, so why don't we get some sleep. We can figure more out tomorrow." Moving over towards the empty bed, Jasper laid down and turned his back to Bethany, hoping it would entice her to do the same.
There being only one bed in the room, Bethany walked out, closing the door and laid down on the couch outside in the hall. She eventually fell into a restless sleep. In the middle of the night, Bethany was startled awake by a cold hand coverig her mouth. She tried to fight whoever it was, but soon all she saw was black.
Jasper was awake. He rarely slept anymore, plus he didn't need it as much as humans. When he couldn't hear Bethany's light breathing through the wall, Jasper got up and raced over to the door. He was still weakened, so he didn't want to fight. When he opened the door, Bethany was gone. He could smell the Chloroform. Pulling out his cell phone, he said, "We have a problem."
Bethany woke up groggily. Her head was killing her, and she was dizzy, but she sat up anyway. She looked around and saw she was in a dark, dank basement. She saw a figure on the chair, and when they chair turned around, she screamed. It was Yasik! "No!! No! Not you! Please not you!" She yelled, scrambling, which only resulted in falling, off the bed. She looked over the edge of the bed, just to make sure everything was real. "Oh my god... This cant be happening!" She pannicked, not sure what to do. She didt have any weapons on her, and it would be useless to start a fist fight with him, she would only lose.
Jasper didn't know what to do next. After calling the base, he was left alone. Angry that he could allow her to get kidnapped like this and frustrated at life in general, Jasper took out a piece of chalk. He drew an elaborate circle with strange writing and shapes inside it; much like the circle used for making the contract. Taking a seat within the circle, Jasper relaxed and began to meditate. He hoped that their bond...or at least the bond he shared with her parents would lead him to her. It was a long shot, but it was the only option he had.
Bethany scrambled alon the floor away from Yasik, only stopping when her back hit the wall. "No... No, no, no," she repeated over and over again. "Wh-what do you want?" She asked weakly

[[Just for funsies and then we can think of a new rp]]Bethany becomes Yasik's evil queen. She takes over the world and kills all the hunters except Jasper, who she keeps as a slave...[yes, my mind is evil]

Jasper could see that Bethany was trying to fight. It was quite painful for him to watch. Unlike her father and mother, who were natural hunters, she was unused to the idea of hurting another. It was good and bad.
Yasik could see that Bethany was getting her confidence up. He forced his hand through Jasper's chest. This revealed Jasper's wings. They were black and large, reaching over 18' wide. Jasper continued to struggle, but Yasik had the advantage. He took his knife and Jasper's and stabbed them through Jasper's wings. Yasik mounted Jasper on the wall like an animal. "Thank's love. You're so helpful sometimes," Yasik said before disappearing.
Jasper was in a lot of pain as he exhaled as loudly as he could, "Cell, call Trish."
