Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments [[talk later. g2g]]

message 152: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "None so far," she replied, shaking her head. "Wait, yes I do. You said safehouse, and I'm guessing we are staying safe from Yasik?" She asked.

message 153: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper looked at Bethany and replied, "You really aren't comprehending this thing are you?" He sighed and pulled up a few news articles all pertaining to strange unexplainable occurrences. "There are hundreds, possibly thousands of things like Yasik out there. All are interested in contractors and their blood. You are a contractor and so you are a target for these creatures." He thought for a second before looking at the time. "Oh, we got to go now or we'll be late. I'll explain more in the car." Jasper closed his laptop and packed it away. Then he opened the door for Bethany.

message 154: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Okay," she said quietly, and grabbed her bag and walked out. "Thanks," she muttered. Why was he so cold towards her? She didn't really know what to day. She honestly didn't understand what she did as a contractor and why she was so important. Why couldn't everyone be contractors?

message 155: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper walked down to the parking lot and got a key out of his jacket pocket. Opening the car door for her, he jumped in and turned on the ignition. It came to life almost immediately. He pulled out when Bethany closed the door. On the road, Jasper asked, "What're your questions. Don't tell me you have none; I can see the questions floating inside your head right now...well not literally, but you get the point."

message 156: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Why am I so important?" She asked him immediately. "I mean, aren't there other contractors? Why didn't you just leave me?" She asked, looking at him.

message 157: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper continued to drive, keeping his eyes on the road when he replied, "There's thousands of contractors, yes, but when a demon or fallen makes a contract we are bound to a specific bloodline. Only when the bloodline dies can we make a new contract. There's a reason it's a blood contract and not just a kiss. In a blood contract we exchange blood and each is bound to the other." Jasper hoped he was making this easy to understand. To him it made perfect sense, but it was a very difficult thing to explain especially to someone new.

message 158: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Oh," she said in a small voice. "Does that mean Yasik made a contract with my dad?" She asked, shuddering at the thought. "And will you?" She asked, knowing he made one with her father.

message 159: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper began to laugh. "No Allen never made a contract with Yasik. Here's the thing about Yasik, he'll only kiss someone who's pretty or someone who he needs something from." Jasper continued to drive steady as he further explained, "Blood contracts link bloodlines together. Simple kisses like the one you had only link the people involved. As for me? I want to make a contract with you, but I need your full consent."

message 160: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany blushed and looked away when he called her pretty. "Oh," she said again. "Wait, what would he need from--oh," she said, wide eyes. She thought about the last thing Jasper said for a while and nodded her head. "I'm okay with that," she agreed.

message 161: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper looked at the girl as she blushed and couldn't restrain the smile, "Good. P.S. I'm much older than you are, so don't get any ideas?" He wanted to make that point clear because there's been too many problems with dating mortals. As he leaned back in his seat, Jasper turned on the radio and allowed it to play.

message 162: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Yeah! I didn't mean anything like that!" She said, panicking, hoping he wouldn't get the wrong idea.

message 163: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper could see she was a bit uncomfortable, but that was to be expected. He continued to drive, but picked up speed. As they went faster, Jasper asked, "So, how are you holding up?"

message 164: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Um, I'm just not sure what to think of all of this..." She said, still getting over who Jasper really was.

message 165: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments "Not many do," Jasper replied as he remembered how Allen first responded. "When your father first got involved, he flat out rejected the thought of a paranormal world. He did everything in his power to avoid me and any place I'd been. Of course it was pointless, but he tried his best. Plus he was a single father by then. Actually, I was your baby sitter for some time before he found out. You were quite the cute baby." Jasper glanced at Bethany for a second before continuing, "Once he found out though, he'd never let me baby sit you again. Even after the contract, he was too afraid that something would happen to you."

message 166: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Oh," she said. She found it insanely awkward for Jasper to have seen her as a baby. "So you've been around me my whole life? Why didn't I recognize you?" She asked. You would think that someone would, with as great as he looked.

message 167: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper thought for a second and shrugged, "You never really saw me much after your 3rd birthday. Your father never allowed me face-to-face contact. I worked behind the scenes a lot." He couldn't remember changing too much from the time she was an toddler. To him it wasn't a big deal. "I'm not that easy to remember if I don't want to be."

message 168: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Why do you think that is?" She inquired, pushing further. She now had her undivided attention, seeing as they were talking about her childhood after all.

message 169: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments "Well, I can blend in well with my surroundings. Sometimes people see me, but I can convince them they didn't. Think of it as a special trait that most angels have. That's why there aren't millions of stories about angels. We're always here, just no one notices." Jasper explained. He didn't know how to properly explain the phenomenon, but that's pretty much how things worked. It probably had something to do with false memories created by humans, but he didn't feel like explaining that.

message 170: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Sorry, I meant with my dad kicking you out," she clarified. "I don't understand why he would just tell you leave after he knew you a long time," she added.

message 171: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments "Well your father didn't actually 'know' me until after your mother died. You see, your mother was my original contractor. She was the one who made the blood contract when she was about your age. When she died, I needed to tell Allen who I really was. Once he found out, he didn't want my world destroying yours. It's a honest decision. He was only trying his best for you," Jasper explained as he began to slow. "I'm hungry. What about you?" He pulled into one of those rest stops where many fast food restaurants were clustered together.

message 172: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "Uh. Yeah," she said, getting out. She was still processing her mother being a contractor. "So I'm guessing she didn't die because of a car accident?" She asked him.

message 173: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper glanced sideways before answering, "Well, actually it was a car accident, but it really wasn't an accident. You see, I was there, in the car. Your mother and I had an agreement that I'd protect you. While she was driving, a car hit us and she was fatally wounded. There was a group of demons approaching. You see, being contracted to her, as she was dying I was weak, almost powerless. The only way to save you was to run."

message 174: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "You left my mom?" She asked in a small voice. "Dying?" She squeaked, not sure what to make of everything. She wasn't mad at him, upset at the results, but not mad.

message 175: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper could hear the sadness in her voice. "You don't understand. You would have died along with your mother if I stayed and fought. There was nothing that could save her. Not even me." He hated that memory. It lingered still despite the years. The image of clutching Bethany to his chest as he ran away. "It was your mother's dying wish, to save you."

message 176: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "I get that.. Buts it's just kinda hard to hear, y'know?" She said, looking straight ahead. She was not having a hard time dealing with this, which worried her. Shouldn't she be crying? She cried at her father's funeral, so why not now?

message 177: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper decided to give her some space. It must be hard to learn that everything you knew was a lie. As he continued to drive, they reached the safe house. It wasn't much, just what looked like a smaller factory building. He parked in the lot and got out. "You coming?" He asked as he closed the door.

message 178: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments " yeah," she said getting out. She met him on the other side of the car and stayed close, just in cSe anything was to happen.

((Is Yasik going to intervene?))

message 179: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments [[I was thinking he'd come in later...during the contract is being made]]

Jasper led Bethany inside the building. As he walked in he was greeted by a fellow hunter who immediately recognized Bethany as well. "It's great to see you two. We've been expecting you since the news about Allen," the huntress looked at Bethany sincerely as she said, "I'm so sorry for your loss. Everyone here is also mourning."

message 180: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany gave her a small smile. "Thank you," she said, not sure what else she could say. She stayed by Jasper the whole time, finding it awkward that the other hunters knew her and she didn't know them.

message 181: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Other hunters looked at the pair but didn't say anything. Jasper replied to the huntress, "Thanks Trish. Can you bring us to the CR?" Trish smiled and led the way. Jasper followed close behind. He remembered the last time he was here with Allen. It was over a month ago. They came to get more supplies, specifically more bullets coated in basilisk venom.

message 182: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "What's the CR?" Bethany asked looking to Jasper. She knew she was being stared at, and found it extremely uncomfortable. She followed Jasper and Trish, stillunsure of where they were going.

message 183: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper didn't answer, rather he waited until they were led to the room. "It's a very special...almost magical room for contractors. Don't worry, once inside, you'll feel more comfortable," Jasper explained as he stepped inside the room. It was a very simple room. The walls were just plain concrete while the floor had some sort of markings on it. They were in the shape of a circle. Jasper led Bethany into the center.

message 184: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "What is this?" She asked, looking at all the figures on the floor. She stepped over them, afraid to touch them. She looked around the room and there wasn't much to see. It was so bare, she would havehad no idea what it was used for unless Jasper told her.

message 185: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper led Bethany to the center of the room. "Are you sure you want to do this. If not, it won't work," Jasper explained. Although he needed her to ready ASAP, if she wasn't this would end badly for both of them. As he took her hand in his he asked again, "Are you ready for this? Or do you need to wait?"

message 186: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments "I am," she said, nodding. She had made up her mind after Jasper explained what Yasik was doing. She never wanted thst to happen to her again. She would so much rather be bound with Jasper than with Yasik.

message 187: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments "Ok," Jasper replied taking her hands in his. He closed his eyes and an eerie feeling came over. The runes on the ground began to glow red. Jasper looked into Bethany's eyes and held her gaze. Gently, he pricked her finger. Then he took a knife and slit his wrist. Blood began to drip down his wrist. "Don't worry, everything'll be fine," he reassured her as he put his wrist above her hand. As the blood dripped down the contract began.

message 188: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany bit her lip when Jasper cut his wrist, hoping it didn't hurt him. She was slightly repulsed by the thought of their blood mingling, but she shoved it aside. She didn't look down at her hand, nervous as to what she would see. Instead, she looked at Jasper, since he seemed to know what he was doing. She sneaked a glance at the ground, something catching her eye. She skipped over her hand and looked to her left. The runes and weird symbols had started to glow a blood red, and she wondered if that meant anything.

message 189: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper smiled at her as the contract began. As his blood disappeared into her own, it was time for the reverse. He placed her hand above his wrist and allowed the blood to drip down into his. The blood dripped slowly and began to glow as the contract continued, but something was wrong. Where Bethany's blood mingled with Jasper's, it turned black. Jasper pulled his hand back and held it to his chest. Then he stumbled backwards. "No," he said softly as the blackness spread to the rest of his body.

Just then, the runes turned a dark purple and eventually a thick black. It began to ooze and a figure appeared in front of Bethany...Yasik. Jasper lounged at Yasik, but was knocked away instantly. He was weakened by the failed contract. Before Trish could intervene, Yasik teleported them away.

message 190: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany just stared in shock at the man in front of her. She started to back away when Jasper made a move against Yasik, her hands covering her mouth. She looked at Jasper's wrist and saw the black blood, gasping. Was it poison? Or worse, was it her blood?

message 191: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Yasik teleported them to a strange place. It was old and gross. Jasper was too weak from the faked contract. As he struggled to get to his feet, Yasik explained, "Bethany dear, you are one heck of a double-agent. You see, when I kissed you I placed doubt into your mind. Although you may have wanted this guy," points to Jasper, "part of you wanted me. You see, when this happens you poison your own blood which in turn destroyed the contract, and your partner. So thank you. I couldn't have done it without your help." Yasik smiled as he left Bethany to figure everything out. He then turned his attention to Jasper.

"I'm going to destroy you, angel," Yasik threatened as he took a knife from his waist and made small slits in Jasper's skin. "I just want you to suffer a bit," Yasik whispered into Jasper's ear.

message 192: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany backed up against the disgusting wall immediately, trying to get away from Yasik. She was disgusted with herself. She wanted to be next to Yasik, to be with him. She was so repulsed by her own thoughts that she almost didn't hear him speak. "Wh-what?!" She said, eyes opening wide. "It's my fault... It's all my fault..." She mumbled, her knee giving out. She slid down the wall, unable to do anything besides watch as Yasik slit Jasper. She began to tremble, everything overwhelming.

message 193: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments Jasper looked at Bethany saying, "He's lying. It was all his fault. You didn't make these choices." Jasper didn't know what else to say. He was never in this situation before. As he helplessly watched Bethany fall apart, Jasper reached for his own weapon. Once he got a hold of it, he swung his arm only to be apprehended by Yasik. The knife went flying and skidded across the floor. It landed at Bethany's feet.

message 194: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany looked at the knife and back at Yasik and Jasper. "If I died, would this end?" She asked herself aloud, picking up the knife. She held if in her trembling hands, looking at her distorted reflection through the blade.

message 195: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments [[do you want to end this rp and start a new one or just keep going? If you want to end it then Bethany can kill herself. If you want to continue, let me know]]

message 196: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments ((I honestly don't want it to end! Do you?))

message 197: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments [[just asking...sometimes I have people who do, so when I feel it's a low point I ask.]]

Jasper looked at Bethany and screamed, somewhat desperately, "No, you'd just make things worse." He couldn't believe that she even suggested it. Was she really that willing to die! Even her father never said that to him. "Attack Yasik!" Jasper said as he summoned his strength to hold Yasik down.

message 198: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments ((Oh okay! :) ))

Bethany winced at Jasper's words, but she stood up and walked slowly to them. She was gripping the knife so tight, her knuckles were white. She leaned over Yasik, positioning the knife, but there was something wrong. No matter how many times she tried she couldn't will her body to move. It was like she didn't want to... The knife clattered to floor and Bethany stepped back, closing her eyes. "I...I can't..." She said, her voice just above a whisper.

message 199: by Aimee (new)

Aimee the Unicorn (abalint) | 2294 comments [[sorry been swamped with school lately]]

Jasper couldn't help but curse loudly. He lost his grip on Yasik and was soon overpowered. His body was beginning to breakdown as the poison spread. Giving a low groan, Jasper knelt defeated. He couldn't do anything without a contractor to release his powers. It was a strange arrangement. Since he refused to bow to humans during their creation, he was sentenced to serve them. Most of the time, they were brave or resourceful, but now he was helpless. He desperately wished Bethany would do something...anything...fight.

message 200: by Addisen (new)

Addisen | 4577 comments Bethany opened her eyes and stared at Jasper and Yasik in horror. "Stop... Please stop... I-I'll do anything, just stop..." She said, her voice just above a whisper. She reached for the knife again, taking a deep breath. This time, she will hurt him. She will. She has to. She repeated these words over and over in her ind until they didn't make any sense. "Don't hurt him," she said her voice a little more confident sounding.

((It's okay! :) ))
