Lanelle | 4020 comments I haven't heard of this series, Delitealex. They look interesting though. I'm going to see if my library has them.

Suzanne | 1254 comments A great fossil book that's also historical fiction is Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier.

I'm really struggling with the White cover. Any suggestions?

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Not sure what the exact requirement is, just a mainly white cover? A few months ago 'white covers' was the group read theme and several books were nominated. Maybe you can find some inspiration there :)

My problem is it can only have a little bit of black and no other color. I have yet to find one!

Kristie | 19130 comments Suzanne - I'm reading In the Woods for that one. In the Woods (Dublin Murder Squad, #1) by Tana French

Kristie | 19130 comments If I recall, we came up with a few that were mostly white with only black further back in this thread. I think there's a couple in this listopia list too. https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...

You and me both. I have decided that publishers graphic designers in Australia really have an aversion to only black and white covers.

Hm yes, that sounds more difficult. I can't think of anything either. Good luck! :)

This probably has too much blue on the cover, but I am going to read it for the challenge and fit it in somewhere - maybe bird task.

Although it's definitely a white cover, the paperback issue is only 92 pages, so wouldn't qualify.

The Gate to Women's Country by Sheri S. Tepper

I also found these that I think work. they aren't a rainbow in the sky, but they are rainbows.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I think I have found two out of 2951 books. I think one will work, but of course I want to read the other.

What say you, Janice? Crashing Through A True Story of Risk, Adventure, and the Man Who Dared to See by Robert Kurson and

The Genesis Wave Book 1 of 3 by John Vornholt .

Tiger Milk by Stefanie de Velasco This is Rusalka's book.

Camilla | 2097 comments For the rainbow task I'm going to read
Over the Edge Death in Grand Canyon Gripping Accounts of All Known Fatal Mishaps in the Most Famous of the World's Seven Natural Wonders by Michael P. Ghiglieri , I even happened to own it already.

I found this one on my TBR. To a Mountain in Tibet by Colin Thubron can you see the waterfall way back there?

Thank you for these two covers, Deborah. The first was published in 1982, but I did not look at the other. The bottom line here is that I am not willing to read another 5xx page book.

would this count?

The Rainbow Goblins by Ul De Rico - 32 pages :)

or this? I found it for my TBR list - A Corner of White (The Colours of Madeleine, #1) by Jaclyn Moriarty 400 pages sorry but looks a much lighter read - I am trying to push my boundaries more....

LOL! I would read the goblin book, but it is too short. I found a lot of books that were too short. I have add the other book to my TBR list and will keep it in mind - if I ever get to the task. Thank you very much.

Personally, I would rather read Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover instead of the Brangwan Family Series, which I had on my TBR as The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence .

message 492: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments or numerous versions of the Silk Road for silk.....

yes, Cherie, that's another of the many editions. Lady Chatterley - I suppose it's one of those books one really should have read but I find D.H. Lawrence overrated. It may have been banned in the sixties but it's pretty tame stuff now and Lawrence was a bit of a misogynist IMHO

Janice has approved this for me, I know you like SF. If you haven't already read it, is a good one:

Sea of Dreams Sea of Dreams (Sea of Dreams, #1) by C.L. Bevill

And here there ara a few ones with waterfall (we all posted it in the wrong thread:

I hope it helps! (sorry I didn't post this before, It was a very hard week...)

message 495: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 246 comments I wondered if this version of The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon - The Story of Beautiful Girl would work for a rainbow cover - given the varied colours of the title's writing.

message 496: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments Sorry, Sam. It must be a rainbow - either a picture of a rainbow or "clip art style".

message 497: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi Janice,
I had planned to read The Bellini Madonna: A Novel for the painting task for France, but I am wondering if this book will fit? I happened to pick it up in audio on Overdrive and just finished listening to it this morning. Death of an Artist: A Mystery. There is a lot of discussion about the artist, her art, what drives her, etc and about galleries and it mentions a few paintings specifically, many times. She is murdered to get control of her life's work to sell it.

message 498: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59851 comments I'm kind of surprised you're asking, Cherie. It sounds pretty obvious to me that it fits the painting task. Don't second guess yourself. :)
