A Tough Mudder sounds like fun! I'm with Christine though, in my younger days it would have been a blast.
I was definitely very touched and very grateful. My little brother who has never lifted a finger in his life mopped my entire flat and I do admit I shed a tear or two. Very proud of him. It's been a good day, even though an odd one :) Thank you all ^_^
Pat wrote: "Happy Vietnam Veteran's Day and thank you for your service. Lost my brother too soon because of that war."Oh Pat, I am so sorry you lost your brother in Vietnam. My brother was of age, but was so lucky to get a high number.

Thank you. A long time ago.

Thanks Chris. A long time ago. My brother was a marine - enlisted not the draft. He came home but suffered so badly with PTSD. Just died too young.

The winds have come roaring down the plains today. And we have a rural mailbox. Well, not anymore. Wind broke the post and toppled our mailbox. Huh, guess what we will be doing this week?
Janet wrote: "Never thought a book by Belinda Bauer would have me crying with laughter!!"Well, I read that and I didn't laugh so is this good enjoying laugh? Or ridiculous laugh?
What do you think to it Janet?
Okay - I really am having a ditzy day. Reading along and came across a reference to a MacBook - and I think - why would Maccas put out a book? DUH! Need a holiday.
I'm liking it and laughing for the right reasons. There's some terrific humour in it with Marvel. I was crying I was laughing so hard.
Good day everyone (I'm a bit late for good morning). I hope you all had a great weekend and that you had a lovely birthday Kerry. :)
Pat wrote: "Happy Vietnam Veteran's Day and thank you for your service. Lost my brother too soon because of that war."My uncle served there too. He still suffers from PTSD terribly.

Hi Guys! I retired a little over a year ago. I had zero time for pleasure reading during my career so I have been madly trying to catch up. I think I have read close to 70 books since I retired. This forum is like a candystore for me!

Hey, thanks, Heather.

Are they THAT DESPERATE for attention? They could receive weekly feedback through therapy. Just sayin'. Some people join groups only to catch up on other readers' opinions, they may not be comfortable to express their points of views and shouldn't be punished for it.

It sure is, Anne. I have a life now.
I think that is putting pressure on people who are perhaps shy and want to talk in their own time?
'Control freak' springs to mind !
Some people may just join to get ideas and may not say anything unless they have something to say. I think it's just a little anti-social to make rules like that.
The thread is rather nasty, he names and shames members, goes through the lists, and checks to see if they have posted if not he names them, a month later deletes them.
I am sure some do not even know they are no longer a member of his group !
Suprised I have not been deleted !, although have made one post.....LOL
Down right mean, I think. In fact I might leave, but do like to see what other groups do.

Kimberley wrote: "I think that is putting pressure on people who are perhaps shy and want to talk in their own time?"I am shy and when I join a group,I like to learn how the group interacts. Its like jump rope, your timing has to be right or you will get caught in the rope.
My friend Christine invited me to join this group and spoke highly of everyone. So,I have found it easier to interact. :)
This group has rapidly become one of my favorite groups. I'm glad I took the advice of whoever suggested I try this group! (I'm sorry, I can't remember who did.)
Wow, Sean! I belong to three other groups, and I hardly ever post on them. At least I think I still belong. If I don't, I guess I won't worry about it. People join for different reasons, and I don't think anyone should be expected to actively participate if they don't want to. People have busy lives, and as we've seen with this group, an individual's postings can really ebb and flow depending upon what is going on in "real life." I don't think anyone should be penalized for that, and I'm glad this group isn't like that.
I only belong to one other group and I didn't post on there much before this but I would hate to feel pressured into having to post - that isn't what these groups are abouton another note Monday officially was too long and too wet today
Believe it or not, I belong to 13 groups! Here are my Top 5
1. J. D. Robb
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
2. A Good Thriller
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
3. Goodreads Choice Awards Book Club
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
4. Cozy Mysteries
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
5. Mysteries & Crime Thrillers
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
I listed these in terms of which ones I enjoy the most, not in the order of my personal activity.
I was invited to join then left THAT group because there wasn't much going on. And there's no way in hell I'll be dictated to!! Life's too short for nonsense like that. This group will never be like that!

Sharon, I like mudding too - but in a 4WD!
10.37 am - time for a cup of green tea before I tackle polishing the mountain of cutlery from last night....but all went well and we just managed to squeak through with our steak supply (but believe me, the chefs got a real earbashing!) and we have had supplies delivered this morning.
