I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and from your picture, it appeared Tom had an especially good Christmas! I hope you all have a Happy New Year! If 2014 was a tough year, I want you to do something. Claim 2015. Say out loud, "2015 is going to be MY YEAR!" Say it to a friend. Just say it. I said it in early December 2013, because I had lost my grandfather and it was one of the toughest years I had ever had. I declared 2014, was going to be MY YEAR. So far, it has been the best year of my life since I was in college. Do it. God hears it, or whoever you believe in, the universe, whoever. That is my advice for a happy 2015. Claim it.
Hey everyone! Hope you're all keeping well. Been away at my parents' and they live in a 3g twilight zone. Impossible to get a phone signal and they have no Internet. It means switching off for a while which is no bad thing occasionally.
2015 is going to my Year !!
How's that Autumn.
And I hope it is for everyone.
Happy New Year, Have a great 2015.

It has been a strange New Year's Eve here. Living right downtown, there are usually people going bar to bar screaming and yelling. This night has been so quiet you wouldn't even realize it was a holiday. Guess it might be due to the cold weather, negative wind chill temperatures tonight. And wouldn't you know, Otto had just decided he needs to go outside brrrrr.

Sean, that is great! And I believe that for you! Amazing things are going to happen for you in 2015! For all of you!
Kanye West has collaborated with some guy called Paul McCartney on his new album. Guess this McCartney's career will go places now.
Yes Ty, I believe this Mr. McCartney was quoted as saying to Mr. West, "I'm so glad that we could Come Together but please, Don't Let Me Down. I have been on The Long and Winding Road searching for fame and just know that With a Little Help From My Friends, I can make it". And something about Hey Jude. I don't know, I guess he saw someone he knew. But anyway, I wish Mr. McCartney much luck with this collaboration.

Anyone who has gotten sick or have friends and family getting this flu that is going around, please take care of yourselves. Take precautions for the young, ill, and elderly. My Mother in Law passed away today from the flu, she has had Alzheimers for many years but was able to remember my grown children when they ran to her side. She was 79 years old, still young but with the Alzheimers she was not living her life like many that age are able to. This is the first time death from the flu has touched my family. It is an illness we tend to view as coming around every year but not seriously. I just want to say stay safe and healthy.
Lynn wrote: "Anyone who has gotten sick or have friends and family getting this flu that is going around, please take care of yourselves. Take precautions for the young, ill, and elderly. My Mother in Law passe..."So sorry for your loss, Lynn. You.make a good point. While the nation lives in fear of Ebola, the flu will take 35,000 lives a year. We have had a couple of healthy teenagers in our area die this winter from the flu.
Please check out my interview with best selling author, Dave Edlund, here: http://typatterson.com/?p=254It's quite different to the normal author interviews.
Dave's Crossing Savage is a fab thriller, and as a science, engineering and political nut, it appealed to me on several levels.
Dave's not just a thriller writer, he's also holder of 97 U.S patents!!!!

Sorry for your loss Lynn, i know flu can be dangerous sometimes i had the Hn1n1 few years ago. And My Uncle suffered from Alzheimer, he passed away last year.
Very interesting Ty, I really enjoyed the first books, and have a review copy of his second book reading now.

Yes you are right this bad virus has now made the front pages here in Jersey, as the worst to hit the island in 3-4 years.
I have struggled for nearly a month, it is made worse as I am a diabetic, it means the virus hits you 50% worse.
And I try to keep going, and both my neighbours, which I check up on are in their late 70's.
Life is tough sometimes !

Sorry for your loss Lynn. You just don't think of the flu as a cause of death. I read in our state paper yesterday that the authorites are saying the flu vaccine is not very effective this year.
Dawn wrote: "Sorry for your loss Lynn. You just don't think of the flu as a cause of death. I read in our state paper yesterday that the authorites are saying the flu vaccine is not very effective this year."Only 23% effective.
Christine wrote: "Dawn wrote: "Sorry for your loss Lynn. You just don't think of the flu as a cause of death. I simply kept forgetting. I don't know if I will even bother at this point.
Dawn wrote: "Christine wrote: "Dawn wrote: "Sorry for your loss Lynn. You just don't think of the flu as a cause of death. I read in our state paper yesterday that the authorites are saying the flu vaccine is n..."23% sure beats 0%.

Lynn wrote: "Anyone who has gotten sick or have friends and family getting this flu that is going around, please take care of yourselves. Take precautions for the young, ill, and elderly. My Mother in Law passe..."Sorry to hear your bad news Lynn. There are a lot of flu viruses and colds going around in the UK too at the moment. My husband is in bed with a nasty virus. He has been running a temperature and has been off his food. When he went to the doctors today they told him his oxygen levels are low and he has had to double the dosage on his inhalers (for asthma). He is also on a course of steroids. I'm going to make sure he recuperates as he is one of those people that doesn't like taking time off work.
Lynn wrote: "Anyone who has gotten sick or have friends and family getting this flu that is going around, please take care of yourselves. Take precautions for the young, ill, and elderly. Lorrea(Threein3) wrote: "They say even the flu shot this year is not helpful being less than 25% effective. "As Christine says, better 23% than zero.
So sorry for your loss, Lynn. My grandmother also died from the effects of Alzheimer's disease. We took care of her from day one until the day she died. I will always hold it near and dear to my heart that she did not know who people were when she died by name except for my mom, my dad, and me. I was never the favorite, but she never forgot me. It was one of those sicknesses where at times you had to laugh so you would not cry. Once again, I am so sorry to hear this sad news.

The bad weather has now reached Manchester and it's snowing heavily. I'm glad I work from home but am sorry for anyone who has to travel in it. My hubby has set off for the 2 hour trip back to work even though I advised him against it as his asthma is still bad. I hope he will be OK. My daughter has a 15 minute walk to college and she always takes my old walking boots (which seem to have become a fashion statement) so I think she'll be fine. :)

Oh dear, hope your husband will be ok. I'm in the Midlands, hope it doesn't wander down this far. It does feel cold today.

Hi Janet, I've just got a message to say he's arrived safe and sound. He's actually travelled into Birmingham so he probably doesn't realise how bad it's got in Manchester. I hope he doesn't have any problems getting home tomorrow.Hi Sue. Toronto's a lovely city. I visited it many years ago and also went to Niagra Falls while I was over there, which was breathtaking. :)
Hi Heather, Glad to have you as a friend. We live in the west central Toronto, 10 min from the airport, 20 min from downtown and 1 hour from Niagara Falls. Our snow hasn't started yet, but sure looks like it. Good day to read. Take care and hope your husband stays safe.
Thank you Sue, that's very kind of you. It's good to have you as a friend too. I hope you manage to avoid the snow (unless you enjoy it - unlike me). :)

Snow is great for Christmas, but after that, I am looking forward to the spring. Our 2 Labs Love the snow.

I work from home too. I hate going out in the snow because I always dread slipping. It looks lovely through the window though. I was planning to go to the shops tonight but I think I'll give it a miss until the weather improves.
Kirsten wrote: "Seems like living in Toronto isn't the best decision if you dislike snow..."Yes, that is why we have 4 seasons and great neighbours.

Right guys, time for a rant! So I came into college today as I had an exam. Left the house at 8 got there about half-past and after buying a coffee a guy walks in saying college is closing! So on the one hand, I was happy about not doing the exam, but I got up for no reason! On my annoyance scale I'd put this at about 5 but what really bugged me was the fact that it took me "THREE HOURS to get back home! After ringing numerous taxi companies who all said they didn't have anything available I had to get a bus.Again this is about 7 on my internal annoyance scale. Finally, there I was at the bus station thinking one more short bus ride! But NO!!! The bus I needed to get home wasn't running. So there was another round of phone calls to taxi companies. After finally getting a booking which I had to wait nearly an hour for I finally got home! Apologies for the rant guys. Now I'm off to do some more revision!! *happy face*
I m really enjoying the Pick-it-For me, i think it s great to choose books for each other. And it s easier for me now, i don t have to choose which book to read first. I hope we keep doing this every month.
