I used to have a Kindle case with a stand. Unfortunately, my new Kindle won't fit in the old case. The screen is the same size but the chassis isn't

Hey Tere I just lay my coby android tablet on my bed and read it on there or I place a book under it and hold it like that. I have a little cover that it goes in that I place under it too.
Artemis.......my apologies over your sex. You have such an interesting name. I would love to know how your parents came to name you this. The offer still goes........I have three grandsons and one granddaughter........they know I am a young thinking solid person to come to, when they have probs.I am very glad you are not giving up on your GR family. We'll always be there for you!!!!

Thanks. Artemis isn't my real name. It's my favorite goddess. My mother had an interesting spelling for my name though

I go by my real name (which is Amber) as I'd like my friends to know my real name with my family as well. I got some family members here on gr with my gr friends and I go by my real name on fb too. on wattpad I go under an author pen name which is amber blaze but my first name is my real name.
I think we have a wonderful group; supportive, friendly, witty and interesting: hugs to Artemis, Amber ( my daughter's middle name) Ter'e, Sean and everyone!!!
Artemis, I am glad you aren't leaving our group. So many special people have found it. Ter'e and I are the old ladies of the group and we have been thru lots of life stuff. I am one more person who would be very happy to be PM'ed by you when you are feeling down. Don't ever give up, ArtemisChris

Ter'e, I prop myself up with some pillows, bend my knees, and let the Ipad rest on my upper legs. Works pretty well for me.
Artemis,Bless you girl, life is so rough at times but you hang in there. I pray that you are able to work through whatever it is you are dealing with. I am not one to share my personal issues or pain. I'm a very private person, but since you were strong enough to share with your GR's family that you are dealing with something heavy, I will share something heavy I'm dealing with and we will be strong for each other.
My sister's fiance committed suicide yesterday at 6 am in the morning. He shot himself multiple times in their back yard. My sister witnessed some of this after hearing the first gun shot. I am not handling it very well; can't seem to wrap my head around it, but I have to suck it up to be strong for my sis.
So Artemis, you keep me in your thoughts and send some positive vibes my way and I'm going to keep you in my thoughts and bombard you with positive vibes. Maybe we can get through our messes together and come out stronger on the other side.
You have my prayers, Dawn G
Oh Dawn........I am so sorry for your loss. Suicides are one of the saddest acts that can possibly happen. If people would just reach out at that last moment, get their bearings and feel that someone does love and care for them.........they would not finish the act. Getting help, when you think there is no help......is the key.My heart goes out to you and your family.
Talk about sending hugs.........I am sending huge hugs.
I must add........my father was a suicide when I was 10.
It was the hugest loss in my life.
I'm sorry about your loss Dawn.
Your's too, Ter'e.
Thank you
Your's too, Ter'e.
Thank you
Thanks Artemis.......it made me a BELIEVER that suicide is never the answer. My heart aches for Dawn and her family....and what they will go thru these next weeks........
Thank you Artemis and Ter'e. It seems like all you can do is pray for peace; for the ones left behind and for the one who left. I can't imagine going through this at 10 years old Ter'e and with it being your father. I am so sorry you had to go through that. Suicide is something I have never dealt with before and pray to God I never have to deal with again. As for you Artemis, I am going to continue to pray for your resolution and peace. Keep your head up and know that you are not alone.
I'm deeply sorry Dawn and T for your losses. How awful.
Do you know the sad thing is, I bet we've all got a tale to tell.
Do you know the sad thing is, I bet we've all got a tale to tell.
My thoughts and hugs and best wishes go to you Dawn and Ter'e.
Sadness it with us all.
And we all go through some tough times in our lifes.

Dawn, I am awfully; I have been touched multiple times by suicide; my husband's father, my close friend's father and my son's best friend. The people left behind never really recover well. They always wonder why and what if?So sorry Ter'e!

I do believe that people left behind will always struggle with it. It is just tremendously sad. WOW, Skye, that is all I can say. My heart goes out to you and your family and best friend.
hey did ya'll know that it's national read an ebook day? thought it was cool though I read ebooks all year with my normal reads and some audiobooks.

The people left behind never really recover w..."My cousin's son Jim committed suicide at age 30 one year ago. It completely blindsided the family. I visited with my cousin and her husband this summer and they are still really affected by what happened. I knew Jim and it was a real shock. He was extremely bright--the type of guy who built computers from scratch--and so kind. He adopted a couple of black cats knowing black cats have a hard time finding homes. He did leave a note and it was over frustration of not finding the right girl yet to marry. And he was only 30 years old!! I do think the horrendous effect suicide has on family and friends is commonly overlooked. If the person knew those repercussions, maybe he/she would think twice about going through with it. My heart goes out to all of you who have been affected by a family member's or a friend's suicide.
That is so very sad Chris. I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate everyone's prayers, kind words and sharing. I find it a difficult subject to talk about yet talking helps. Skye is right though, life goes on for the rest of us and we basically have to deal with it the best that we can.
My life looks like cake compared to all of yours. No one in my family has committed suicide. My step cousin's uncle did recently, but i didn't know the guy, so it didn't affect me
Everything is relative, though, Artemis: we all have various thresholds of what we hold near and dear.
Skye is absolutely right Artemis. What I or anyone else may be going through in no way makes your issue any less important or serious. My purpose in sharing my struggle with you is only to let you know that you are not struggling alone even though our current battles may not be the same. Personally, I think it would be so nice if life came with a user's manual. LOL
What wonderful messages......to and from all. Life goes on. One of the things - GOOd - that came from my fathers death, is, many years later, I started doing genealogy. You know.....FB for dead people. :-) I have found so many family members I never knew I had. Some I have bonded with quite closely. It has been a blessing to see people who look and act like me. One of the dearest is my Dad's first son from another marriage. Ray and I are like two peas in a pod! He is the reason I started searching in the first place. Our Dad was quite the guy. Had quite a past. Ray and I, both, look just like him. So, good things do come out of bad situations. We just have to keep the faith..........

Thanks :)
I second this. Sometimes our self voices say "no one will understand. No one will get why I feel this way." We all carry our own burdens and sometimes we share the same burdens with others. People look at me and think........"she's a happy person. She has had a great life". No one has walked in my shoes but me........I work hard to overcome my depression. I try to grow from experience. Whenever I can lighten the load of another pal, I am one of the first to volunteer. Suddenly, that load seems smaller. Sometimes you meet the most unlikely friends...........this way.........What is the saying..........when life gives you lemons???????? I don't make lemonade........I eat those lemons, one by one.
:-)

Thanks. I didn't write it, but i found it
OK.......my new secret. Let me preface this with.......I am older and I have color treated hair. (i want to say, a soft ladylike red). My hair is 3" below my shoulders and i was having some breakage probs. First I turned down my flat iron. I was using it too hot. And yes, old babes man maneuver a flatiron. LOL.I bought an Alterna product - Bamboo Volumne. I have the shampoo, the conditioner and an after wash product, spray on for volumne. My hair perked up immediately. I have actually been able to get some beachy waves with it now. Two weeks ago, this would never have happened. I am sold. My hubby says it feels like glass. Now, that is a nice compliment. $$$ But, I bet I can go longer between trims and color boosts!
Hey Art...........the best part???? You shared it. That's what really matters. You cared enough to share it. Atta Girl!

But........I have a question.
How many of you have a problem reading your ipad in bed? I have tried reading on my belly.......but I have a BAD back, so that kills me. So, I flip over and try to read on my back.......but then I touch things on the ipad and the screen shifts and I cuss. I have tried placing my hubbys pillow on my belly and then propping the ipad, but thats hot. I live in FL, remember???
What to do????? is there a device to prop on your belly???? I have no problem asking for advice....as I know it may help many of us.
