Good afternoon!I'm about to get ready for work :( But it might be a good thing, as I'm in a foul mood today for some unknown reason. And not being on GR tonight means I can't take it out on you guys! :)
Janet Sandhu wrote: "Oh dear! The clouds are steely grey and hanging low. Going to start pouring again."I'll take your low grey skies. It'll be in the high 80's down here, sun like an oven. I pray we will at least have some breeze.
That's the thing, I know I wouldn't like the heat either. It's just sometimes here the rain gets a bit relentless.
Michael, where are you? Today in Minnesota we are scheduled for bad storms--blah. I hate them as they scare the bejeezers out of my cats! At least it will be close to 70 today--my fav temp is 72ish.Janet--UK is usually overcast, right? Approx what % of days are blue sky?
Chris
hey all. :) Hope everyone is doing okay. I'm feeling a little better than I have been but my mom is still taking ziva's passing pretty hard and my dad has too.
Amber wrote: "hey all. :) Hope everyone is doing okay. I'm feeling a little better than I have been but my mom is still taking ziva's passing pretty hard and my dad has too."Hey Amber, I was thinking about you this morning!! Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Good day everyone! This is my first week being unemployed, just did some cardio, yoga, now having a cuppa tea! It's nice not having anything to do for a change
Hah! There's a question. It varies from year to year. We've just had a fairly mild winter. In January, for the entire month rain was relentless, one of wettest recorded in history. Awful floods. There's no real set pattern. If the seasons stuck to what they should be, we'd be happy, but they don't. Sometimes we get really hard winters, crap summers and vice versa. We had a good summer last year, this year, like every year it's up to the weather gods!!

I love those conversations! Kind of like the telephone game!
Janet: I hate those kind of winters. Southern Alberta is more like a dessert in terms of rainfall but as of Tuesday morning we woke up to snow on the ground & we're heading into a weekend calling for snow. I.AM.SICK.OF.SNOW!! ;p
Anyone here from the east coast? We're leaving next week on my dream trip. Chicago, Boston, Philli & Washington DC! Really hoping that Chicago or Boston are still the NHL playoffs, I'd LOVE to catch a game!!
Dipanjan wrote: "Btw folks PLEASE do not watch this movie 3 Days To Kill .... Kevin Costner should not have done this movie."You know how sometimes you just know? I knew it! I'm usually the first in line to take a risk regardless of reviews, rotten tomatoes... This one; couldn't do it. Anyone see "non stop" w/ Liam Neeson?
Amber wrote: "hey all. :) Hope everyone is doing okay. I'm feeling a little better than I have been but my mom is still taking ziva's passing pretty hard and my dad has too."I scrolled back Amber, but do you mind if I ask who Ziva is? It sounds like like someone special...

Thank you for your permission.
Terri wrote: "You know how sometimes you just know? I knew it! I'm usually the first..."I heard it was pathetic. But just couldn't get myself to miss out a Mr. Costner flick. Penitence done.
OMG almost 300 post to read, you guys are to much. Kind of loving the Do it Do it now.... please comments, lolI am at work, can't stay on for long.
Have a great day everyone, breathe in the wonderful air even if it is raining and snowing and release any bad or stressful energy.

Should it have been called $20 to Kill?
I never even heard of that film.

I'm on the east coast right outside of DC in Maryland.

And this winter you would have had a time of it. I'm in Silver Spring, Bethesda's poor cousin!!
National Institute of Health. I'm not sure Daniel...would be cool if several of us were in the area at the same time.
I've wanted to go to Washington DC for years. I may be Canadian but I can still respect the power & strength that the city represents. The Freedom Pool, the Vietnam Memorial... All of it! Obviously the Smithsonian is too big to completely take in but any suggestions? My hubby & I love pubs as well. I welcome any & all suggestions :) & as a bonus; hopefully either Chicago or Boston will still be in the playoffs, cuz I'd LOVE to see a game!
Terri wrote: "I've wanted to go to Washington DC for years. I may be Canadian but I can still respect the power & strength that the city represents. The Freedom Pool, the Vietnam Memorial... All of it! Obviously..."Whichever museum(s) you decide to do, go early as possible. I found out that if you get there when they open, you generally can stay ahead of the crowds.
I would recommend eating anywhere else but the museum cafeterias--overpriced, and the food just isn't that good. I would do a museum in the morning, and the mall after. The Dubliner, near the Capital is my favorite pub. And make use of the metro--inexpensive, well run, efficient and easy to use. Cabs are expensive and you don't want to drive. The newest museum is the Afro-American History Musuem near the Washington Monument. My favorite is the American History Museum, followed by the Air and Space Museums.
Thanks Michael! I've heard a lot about the Metro & we're kind of adventurous that way so we'll have to give it a try! I'll definitely try the pub! We're half foodies half pubbies!
Malina wrote: "Everyone should come to Boston! It's a great place to visit!"That is another option for us. We will either go to Boston or DC, hopefully.
Malina wrote: "Everyone should come to Boston! It's a great place to visit!"Sometime in the next year or two my wife and I will be coming to Boston. Might hit you up for some recommendations.
