Upcoming IDW (& Random) Collected Editions

I hope it is slip cased like the first printing oversized was. The pulling of it is strange though. Some sites still have it, but is was pulled from the Humanoids site too - it was cached by google for a while. If you go to the Humanoids site, and put in the ISBN, it shows in the search results, but the page is not found.

I also would love to know this. No news anywhere I've seen and I've asked around a bit with no responses. I haven't tried to contact IDW directly though.

Nope, looks like there is going to be one more. This one only cover upto 47th issue. So the last arc of 48-50 as well as one or two extra arcs are still left to be collected.

Does anyone have any information on the upcoming new The Boys HC collections that are being released? Generally, I want to know how they compare with the Definitive Editions. I only have 1-3 of those editions and seeing how vol 5 and 6 are nearly unobtainable via price, I'm hoping this will be a similar way to complete it.

Still not a cheap book, but maybe some of you are interested...

Thanks for the heads up, definitely getting this

The original The Boys hardcovers were standard size HCs. I don't have any other info on the new editions on whether they are reprints of these or not.

I have the definitive editions vol 1-3 and they aren’t standard. They are deluxe size. Vol 4-6 are just so expensive right now.

Ha, thanks, still don't know how I stumbled on that. Usually looking at the SHOPPING tab under google searches lists prices way over IST, I think that time I just got lucky and it was listed there. Did you end up pre-ordering? I personally can't wait for this!

There's some cool stuff on that site, if not that many OHC's/Omnibi. Got a cool East of West Variant I'd never seen before

I ended up getting Abnett and Lanning's Guardians Omni from there too, it was $50 which is less than IST has it right now.
Also, I actually emailed them and they said they don't necessarily bundle shipping, they try to get things out as soon as possible so maybe youll get it after release.
Anyone ever read the Wasteland series by ONI? I've had the first DLX sitting in my wishlist forever, but given that there are five of them, is this a story worth spending $100 on?

I really enjoyed it. Brilliant idea and storytelling. Nicely bound too.

Book: The red cloth-like cover looks very nice in the shelves, you can compare it to the Hellboy LE ones. No dust jackets, sown binding, solid paper quality. Good production and display value.
Story: Everything reminds me a little bit of Walking Dead, not only the B&W appearance. It focuses and a group of, well, survivors, there are different factions working against each other and there is a looming threat of monsters. However, the setting is vastly different, there are believe systems in place and they are in conflict, so there is enough to set it apart. Overall, enjoyable. Rough, gory and with very explicit language, but enjoyable.
Art: Totally different from your average Marvel trip. It is a mix of Walking Dead, manga style and something very individual to Mittens artwork. It takes time to get used too and you can‘t rush through the pages as you have to „read“ the artwork too. That is why I only have four chapters done yet. Its refreshing.
If you have ever read From Hell and feel like you worked really hard, this book is more relaxing though.
HTH

I'm so annoyed they didn't release the prior run, with Ashley Wood, in OHC. What the heck? You can get The Hole of Tank Girl OHC, the Ashley Wood in SC, and this run in OHC.
Considering how many huge (>12") art books and art comics of Ashley Wood there are, they skipped his Tank Girl.
Omnibus for The Boys by Ennis coming out. Anyone read this? Aren't there ohcs already out there?

Yeah it is probably because of The Boys tv-series. They are trying to cash in.
100% cash in. I have all the DLX . . . Some still affordable . . . Some were very hard to track down and a couple of those were a pretty penny.

I would absolutely love to have that. I do not have the OHCs (read it in comixology) and I love the story enough to collect them in OHC format. I say, Go Dynamite!!!

Not sure they exist, if they did it would probably be an IDW print that would match their other DLX size books.
Still waiting to see if we get a new solicit for volume 9 of the GI Joe Complete Collection (Marvel material).

Baby Teeth by Donny Cates...does anyone recommend it?

How often do these tougher to find volumes get reprinted (or have they since initial run?) or should I endeavor to track them down now outside of IST? Thanks!
I haven't read Baby Teeth or Cerebus so I really can't comment on either. I do like the Marvel work of Donny Cates I've read and loved his fantasy series God Country.
I don't think I've seen anything yet for Sixth Gun DLX vol 6. I have the second volume in my too read stack right now.

Usagi Yojimbo moving from Dark Horse to IDW. Also, there should be new hardcover fully colored editions coming from IDW.

Well damn. Just started grabbing these . . . Full color makes me want to wait . . . The Hint for Volume 1 is so bitter sweet.
Blind, B&W v Color. I lean to however it was originally presented. That being said, totally up for Both and seeing things updated and new things tried, even if that means taking away color.
I'm the same, typically preferring the original presentation but IDW puts out nice stuff. I'll probably wait to see how it looks.
I think I prefer the black and white. I already have all the hardcovers except volume one from Dark Horse. And they are all signed by the author. I paid about $40 each for them which is pretty decent for a signed book with a cover price of $75 each.
If they start with his earlier work printed by Fantagraphics I'll likely get those.

IDW hasn't really been doing much in the way of solicitations.
As you can see here, the last one was for August 2018: https://www.cbr.com/tag/idw-publishing/

Awesome. I am curious if we'll see any similar slipcased volumes to match this latest Incal printing. I am curious about the Metaberon/Metabarons stuff.
