i just picked up some "summer" books: "Summer Hours at the Robber's Library" by Sue Halpern; "Delicious" by Ruth Riechl; and "Sourdough" by Robin Sloane. A good change of pace from reading heavier things the rest of the year!

I bought "Akata Witch" by Nnedi Okorafor; and, I borrowed "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson from a library. I'll probably read Sanderson first because it's longer.

Just finished "A light between oceans" by M L Stedman and it was a lovely, well written, emotional story of how one decision, which you believe is right, can affect people. Knowing that you can't change the past and how it then affects you yourself for the rest of your life ! 🤔

I've been reading a couple books at a time:
I've been reading a couple books at a time:I'm on High Five (Stephanie Plum #5) by Janet Evanovich. I absolutely love this hilarious series since I work in Law Enforcement Administration.
I'm currently reading Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell by David Michaels, which I always wanted to read. So far so good!
I'm also on the 2cd book of the Austin Kirk NUMA series by Clive Cussler. I never read any Cussler books, but started NUMA. It's an interesting read.
I recently purchased A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza, which is the inaugural novel from the Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP) imprint. I guess the imprint with the actress's initials indicates a recommendation. I didn't purchase it for her name; this was happenstance. I simply liked the blurb on the inside book jacket flap.

You'll be able to see the last couple of books I've read on my page, but the one that stuck was The Corporation by TJ English. Mostly because it is about a Cuban mafioso and the underground world of what was known as "La Corporacion", which happens to be the backdrop for my novel Papi's Lover.

I've read the first 3 of Sookie Stackhouse! One of my favourite fantasy series ever! Even if my iMac keeps trying to autocorrect Sookie Stackhouse to Cookie Steakhouse hahaha... The only reason I haven't read the rest is because I don't have them on my shelves :(. I hope you enjoy.

Ohhh boy, well I just spent almost $70 at Barnes and Noble today. Totally worth it though. I got Devil in the White City, A History of the World in 6 Glasses, and 4 books from their classics section including the good old Communist Manifesto. It's gonna be a fun time.

I’m currently into Annihilation and I’m really liking it so far. For my book club, I just recently finished reading Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman, though I do NOT recommend that book.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton was phenomenal! And on my up next to read is probably Crazy Rich Asians.

I recently found an old B&N gift card that still has $20 on it (score! Not sure how much that'll get me, probably 2-3 books at most... so expensive. I need a Kindle.) so I'm definitely planning on getting Carry On by Rainbow Rowell today. Been looking forward to this one for a while~

I snatched two from the bookstore today because of a great discount sale. Agatha Christie's Murder in Mesopotamia and Jessie Burton's The Muse. The latter had mixed reviews but since Burton only has two novels published so far, why not read both? The Miniaturist was enjoyable.

I've been a bit obsessed with political books this year. Our current political atmosphere has reawakened an old interest in American history. This past week I read "First in Line: Presidents, Vice Presidents, and the Pursuit of Power" by Kate Andersen Brower (Excellent, non partisan read). I have "The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels" by Jon Meacham on my TBR stack. I've been interspersing them with lighter fair by Debra Webb and Harlan Coben. Today I purchased Sophie Kinsella's "Can You Keep a Secret" (Kindle Daily deal $1.99!) and am about to start reading it. Happy reading, everyone!
