Nina--did you check your Cloud? The book might still be there. Or check your orders on line, if you think you might have deleted the book.
This is weird, but Nina has already left the group. Maybe by accident? Maybe she's going to check responses and rejoin if she needs to post anything...?

My computer glitched and yes it was an accident :)

So, I'd go to the cloud reader ( http://read.amazon.com ) and get your dad to log in. The books should be more or less in the order they were purchased unless you've opened them on that computer, so scroll down and see if you can spot something else you read at about that same time, then you'll know it should be nearby...
There's the Manage Your Kindle page as well (http://amazon.com/myk) but that's rather tedious to browse through since you can only do it ten books at a time but it does have the bonus of including dates purchased...

Just go to read.amazon.com and it'll prompt you for a user name and password. Log in with whatever account you bought the book with (your father's, it sounds like) and it should bring up the covers of all the books. It might prompt you to install a plugin, but you don't have to unless you plan on using the cloud reader often. Just hit escape to skip that step.
There's a slider bar in the upper right corner to increase the size of the thumbnails if you need to. And no, there's no way of skipping to 2011, and it won't list dates on this page, but you can scroll up and down pretty easily.

Anything bought from Amazon should still be on Amazon. 2011 really isn't that long ago comparatively.
One of the problems with tracking down these freebies is that often they're indie or self published books and are harder to find again after the fact since fewer people have read them.
