A problem with our forthcoming Bobby Owen buddy read, The Dusky Hour. I've started this, but have realised from reading the introduction that Goodreads has a couple of titles listed in the wrong order.

The Dusky Hour should really be number 9 in the series, not 8, while Mystery of Mr Jessop should be number 8, not number 9! The books are usually standalones so this may not be a big problem, but apparently the nightclub which features in this book is also mentioned in Mystery of Mr Jessop.

What does anyone want to do? Should we stick with reading them the wrong way round, or do some rearranging, which would mean delaying the next Bobby Owen read a bit to give people a chance to get hold of Mr Jessop?

Thanks for flagging this Judy, I’d probably opt for reading Mr Jessop first but I have both books so would be happy to go with the majority view.

Looking at our line-up of books, we already have 3 buddy reads in July, so if people want to stick with the order, I think our best bet may be to cancel this read for now, stick with Mr Jessop in August-Sept as planned, then add in Dusky Hour in October-November and put the other Punshon books back.

Seeing as there are so many of them (75). I wondered if we could alternate them every other month with the Bobby Owen books we are reading now. So September would be a great start. Just a suggestion of course , as I would be willing to fall in with whatever is decided.

I've been taking part in the Campion reads and was wondering how much further we will go-I understand that the next in the series, Cargo of Eagles was her last and was in fact finished by her husband, but then there are a couple written entirely by her husband and there are also various short story collections. I'm less interested in her husband's continuations but would enjoy doing the short stories if they are generally available.

As we said back in August, it would be a good idea to alternate the Punshon books and the Simenon books every other month, that would mean Dictator's Way in Dec/Jan and The Carter of 'La Providence' in Nov/Dec if that is ok

Also, can anyone tell me where we can find Angela’s Christmas Adventure? Couldn’t find it on Scribd, my city library ebook collection, and Amazon tab in GR on the book page takes me to a long list of what appear to be children’s Christmas stories! Thanks for any leads.

Sorry about this, Susan - the story used to be available on Kindle, but I've just checked and it is now only available as a free download if you sign up to Clara Benson's free subscriber newsletter.

I do subscribe to her newsletter and have just downloaded it, but as not everyone will want to sign up and it's a very short story anyway, I think we had better take it off the buddy reads list. Apologies - I do wish books wouldn't keep disappearing from Kindle!
