Those sound spooky. Didn't they turn The Woman in Black into a movie starring Daniel Radcliffe? And I haven't heard of Bellman & Black. I'll have to look that one up. Enjoy your books!

I also have Jaws, Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, and one of Mira Grant's books. She does zombies. Which really, I hate zombies, but if you are wanting to stretch out of you comfort zone, read Feed. It is a little long, but it was so good and not gory. Also a recent Zombie book I read last month was Working Stiff. This one was kind of funny, but it was also a little gory, but not too bad.
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Happy Halloween!!!!

That sounds INCREDIBLY creepy. I don't think I could read it.

I don't really read a ton of horror or spooky books either. I have a REALLY good imagination, which can make it difficult to sleep after reading something creepy. That's why the bookI linked to is for my favorite 'spooky' picture book. I'm glad of your reviews of Mira Grant. I love Seanan McGuire (same person) but have been avoiding the Mira Grant books because I am NOT a fan of zombie's either. Good to know it's good and not gory!

Me too. Horror movies ONLY in daylight. When I do want spooky, I read Dean Koontz. King is just too scary, but Koontz is the right level of "off" without being full range. But I'll have to think on this one. Several of the titles listed above are on my audio-to-listen list.

It's not Zombies or monsters. It's just a really good suspense novel.

I recently watched the movie and read the book, both for the first time. I was surprised by how much more involved the book was compared to the movie.

I enjoyed them both! Enjoy!

the book was 100% better then the movie

As I'm listening to the book, I find I like it better than the movie, but I don't like the movie less. I'm about 1/2 way and just got past the "Oh, my. Didn't expect that." part. Which wasn't even vaguely eluded to in the movie.
