October 2015 Group Read Winner: Necroscope by Brian Lumley

I loved the Necroscope universe. I hope you enjoy it.
We start with volume one in the series?

Goodreads recs has been poking me to read this one for a while now...

I'll be skipping this one. I read it last year and to be honest, I didn't like it very much. But you all have fun!

The paperback starts at $0.01 AND $3.99 shipping for a total of $4 in case anyone still needs it>

Read this 20 years ago when it first came out in paperback. Am looking forward to reading it again.

And having monstrous vampires is a nice relief from all the romantic ones saturating the market currently.

Struggling a bit with this one. I don't care much for the writing style. Much too long-winded for my taste but I'll try a few more chapters.

What part have you made it up to? Some of the political stuff bored me but it has interesting parts as well

I gave up on it for that reason. After 3 or 4 pages in a row of location, building, and room descriptions and no story or action or dialog I just couldn't stay interested.

eek!! guess I better start skimming through the babble then... thanks for the warning!

Yep, started skimming.

Yes! I can't wait to see what the next book is about. I can see Lumley getting cosmic with this one, or playing with time.

@Nancy Book really needs an award for run-ons! ;3

I wasn't crazy about the ending either because

He is big with cosmic and time stuff. I've read the first two and heard he goes pretty out there later

I have the next few books in the series because I bought them all at a used bookstore for a good price years go. I'll probably keep reading them for now, but I don't know about trying to read this series. It was good, but I don't know if it was THAT good.
Please be polite and use spoiler tags when necessary.
Have a great read!
