C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 293 comments So perfect!!! The Ankulen idea is perfect for getting them back. Makes lots of sense.

message 202: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments Okay, so what I've worked out, based on the Ankulen universe and what Marenwen has already stated, is that there comes a point after a book's publication where the readers start wanting to do fanfiction, and the characters somehow get out, fixing themselves on the various readers.

They don't know their way back into their worlds yet, not without their author, so the readers have to return them to the author so she can return them to the book. Once this has been done, they can get in and out whenever the readers want fanfiction, no problem.

As Marenwen stated, there is a time restraint of a month that the characters can go without being attached to their world or author. And if the reader they fix on happens to be a writer (or Anka/Anku), it's doubly dangerous, because if the writer takes them into the fictional world, they will fix on that writer completely, and become that author's character. (Actually, if I use my Ankulen to interact with her at all, even for, say, healing, it could be bad.)

(Ever read a series where a character dies inexplicably, or is just forgotten between books? This is what happens!)

So, Marenwen, if it's okay that I've expanded and explained?

gabi | 358 comments Thanks! We are so loving it too! You have made like the BEST series to fangirl and write fanfictions for. <3 :-D

message 206: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments Thanks, Jaye!! And I agree completely with Gabriela, you do have the BEST series for us crazy fangirls!! :P

message 207: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments @Kendra I just read now read what you're comment (about the characters/anka/anku/inexplicably dying). That makes total sense!!

message 208: by Merenwen (new)

Merenwen Inglorion | 106 comments @Kendra: Yes, perfectly!
Way better than I could have said it... :P

@Jaye: Eeeeeeeeee, author-approved fanfic! <3 XD
I mean, thanks! *echoes Gabriela and Alyssa* :D

Stargazer R. L. | 576 comments Whoa, you guys got Jaye to say she liked it!! That's so cool.

I'm reading it in little segments, a few people at a time and I am still super enjoying it! Everyone's meeting is so different and unique! And awesome.

@Gabs: Daican and Kaden on a PLANE. O_O Wow. I loved how you heard Kaden say "killed my father" and then jumped right in and said "Hello, my name is Gabriela . . ." So hilarious. XD

@Amanda: I LOOOVED your line "It's Leetra and Tyra, and clearly, they're not in Kansas - er, Ilyon, anymore." I laughed out loud. XD It was great. :D

@Sarah: I thought it was so cool how you started yours like you would if it had really happened and you where telling us. :D I loved how you grabbed a giant zucchini. XD AND YOU THROUGH THE ZUCCHINI AT JACE. At JACE. O____O Yikes. I was laughing so hard when I realized that. (Also, you are so lucky to have got to write Jace. XD)

Keep it up y'all! This is tiding me over while I wait for Samara's Peril! :D

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments I can hardly wait to post my next bit. I hope our time limit isn't affected by how long some people take to post there parts.

message 211: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 293 comments I don't think we're doing this in real life time... right?

Firefly, it's your turn in case you didn't know! :D

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments C.B. wrote: "I don't think we're doing this in real life time... right? "

That's what I figured. What time are we doing it in then?

message 213: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 293 comments Mmm... not sure...

message 214: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments If we're doing it in real time, our month is already half-up. Um, I was just going on story time, with no actual time limit on us, but if Merenwen wants to give us a time limit, I'd say that a year would probably correlate best.

No, it's not in real time, it's in story time. :)

@Kendra: A year in which to write it, or have it finished by the end of the year?? I'm good either way. :)

How about, a way to correlate story time (this is just a rough idea, sorry if I don’t explain well)?
Let's say it started on September 22, and that’s the day/night everyone met their characters on (bar the differing time zones).
Like this:

September 22

[Insert event]

September 22

[Insert the second event (continuation of the meeting)]

And so on until you get to the next morning. You could add a time tag if you want (ie, “morning,” “afternoon,” “evening”), I suppose…

September 23, morning

[Insert event]

If anyone else has a better idea, please let me know! :D

message 217: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments Anyone know what happened to Firefly?

message 218: by Firefly (new)

Firefly (fireflys12) | 256 comments Sorry guys! I meant to do my part a few days ago but got sick and have been in bed and no where near a computer to do so.

message 219: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 293 comments Ooooh, not fun! We don't blame you! :P

message 220: by Firefly (new)

Firefly (fireflys12) | 256 comments Ok, I did it. It's short and I'm not really that happy with it but I wanted to do quickly so you guys aren't waiting forever :P

message 221: by Sierra (new)

Sierra | 116 comments You have no idea how hard I was laughing while reading it, because I'm picturing you doing that, and I can totally see it and it is priceless

message 222: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments You are a bit too evil, don't you think?! *grins evilly while trying not to laugh*

I'm sorry you felt bad. We can totally wait on anyone. This is for fun!!!

message 223: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments We're fine waiting!

@Firefly Loved it! I kept wanting to laugh!! :P

message 224: by Merenwen (new)

Merenwen Inglorion | 106 comments @Firefly: Pffffffha-Hahahhaaaaaaaa! XD
"I'm not telling them."
Hoo boy, trouble ahead... XD

message 225: by Sierra (new)

Sierra | 116 comments When one of the fangirls goes rogue... :D

message 226: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments :D

message 227: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments I'm probably going to panic when I realize that no one has checked in to report Talas and Daniel ... though that may take me a few days.

message 228: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Yeah, that's hilarious! You might be missing Daican too... ;-D

message 229: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 541 comments My next part will involve me taking a tally of everyone who had "posted" on the forum with the news that they found a character. Also I will be informing everyone of the fading thing, and issuing a "if you have a character randomly show up on your doorstep, this is not a good thing. Get them to Jaye as fast as you can."

Interesting ... so you're only going to report Kaden? Or is Kaden going to ...

message 230: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments We'll see... *chuckles evilly*

message 231: by Sarah (new)

Sarah R. | 80 comments Ha Firefly! I thought you did a great job. I love how you gave Daniel a big hug. Then when he was unreceptive to it you stuck your tongue out at him. Lol

message 232: by Sierra (new)

Sierra | 116 comments Well Kendra, since Firefly and I live on the same street and see each other at church and choir, I'll probably find out about it sooner or later (most likely sooner, since a dragon is rather difficult to conceal- though on second thought, there are lots of woods...) and drag her with me to Wisconsin. Maybe I can bribe her with goldfish...

message 233: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments You are all so funny. I've got mine up now. I may get lost when I finally get over though. Anyone wan't to meet up with me? I've got an extra dragon.

message 234: by Sierra (new)

Sierra | 116 comments Where do you plan on landing?

message 235: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments I was in much of a hurry to really figure that out. I might get blown off course anyway, but I'm pretty sure it will be somewhere in California.

message 236: by Sierra (new)

Sierra | 116 comments Oh, okay. I'm on the East Coast, so I don't think that'll work too well, unless I get REALLY lost :)

message 237: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments I LOVE Meredith! She's so sweet! You did a great job, Bria!!

message 238: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments Thanks.

No, it would have to be someone from the west.

message 239: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Nice one Bria!

message 240: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments Hopping cargo ships was the idea of one of my brothers.

message 241: by Merenwen (new)

Merenwen Inglorion | 106 comments @Bria: Cali...anywhere specifically? I'm close enough where I might be able to make a detour of some sort.
Or possibly get one of my relatives (in an entirely fictional manner) to help. :)

message 242: by Brie (new)

Brie Donning (briedonning) | 199 comments Nowhere specific. I'm happy to meet up a few states over. Where are you located?

message 243: by Merenwen (last edited Oct 26, 2015 12:58PM) (new)

Merenwen Inglorion | 106 comments Bria wrote: "Nowhere specific. I'm happy to meet up a few states over. Where are you located?"

Sorry for taking so long to reply! D:

I don't feel comfortable sharing it here, since this is a public forum, but I don't mind sending it to you in a PM. :)

*notices that Bria's name isn't coming up in the "To" box* Uh, do I need to have someone added as a friend before I can send a PM? Anyone know??

message 244: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments I don't know. I've only sent PM to my friends. Hmm.

message 245: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments I think it depends if the person's profile is private. Bria might be able to change it in settings...

message 246: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Fun, fun! That is awesome Amanda! Should I do my part next?

message 247: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 410 comments Awesome Amanda! If you have a stranger from another world, the first thing you should do is make hot cocoa. :P

message 248: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Beguerie (amandabeguerie) | 467 comments Gabriela wrote: "Fun, fun! That is awesome Amanda! Should I do my part next?"

You're welcome to do yours next, or wait, if you so prefer. I might suggest using the format:

[x] Hours Earlier:
[whateveryouwanttowritehere]

Present:
[whenyoucomeandknockonmydoor]

That was the only thing I could think of without messing up the time frame.

@Alyssa:
I suppose that if I were from a strange world, cocoa would make everything better. Perfectly logical solution to poor unfortunate book characters subject to time and space travel, am I right?

message 249: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Okay! Hey, that's what happened with Clara....pomella cider...

message 250: by gabi (new)

gabi | 358 comments Either way, my next part will end with me knocking on your door.
