So perfect!!! The Ankulen idea is perfect for getting them back. Makes lots of sense.

Okay, so what I've worked out, based on the Ankulen universe and what Marenwen has already stated, is that there comes a point after a book's publication where the readers start wanting to do fanfiction, and the characters somehow get out, fixing themselves on the various readers. They don't know their way back into their worlds yet, not without their author, so the readers have to return them to the author so she can return them to the book. Once this has been done, they can get in and out whenever the readers want fanfiction, no problem.
As Marenwen stated, there is a time restraint of a month that the characters can go without being attached to their world or author. And if the reader they fix on happens to be a writer (or Anka/Anku), it's doubly dangerous, because if the writer takes them into the fictional world, they will fix on that writer completely, and become that author's character. (Actually, if I use my Ankulen to interact with her at all, even for, say, healing, it could be bad.)
(Ever read a series where a character dies inexplicably, or is just forgotten between books? This is what happens!)
So, Marenwen, if it's okay that I've expanded and explained?
Thanks! We are so loving it too! You have made like the BEST series to fangirl and write fanfictions for. <3 :-D
Thanks, Jaye!! And I agree completely with Gabriela, you do have the BEST series for us crazy fangirls!! :P
@Kendra I just read now read what you're comment (about the characters/anka/anku/inexplicably dying). That makes total sense!!
@Kendra: Yes, perfectly!Way better than I could have said it... :P
@Jaye: Eeeeeeeeee, author-approved fanfic! <3 XD
I mean, thanks! *echoes Gabriela and Alyssa* :D
Whoa, you guys got Jaye to say she liked it!! That's so cool.I'm reading it in little segments, a few people at a time and I am still super enjoying it! Everyone's meeting is so different and unique! And awesome.
@Gabs: Daican and Kaden on a PLANE. O_O Wow. I loved how you heard Kaden say "killed my father" and then jumped right in and said "Hello, my name is Gabriela . . ." So hilarious. XD
@Amanda: I LOOOVED your line "It's Leetra and Tyra, and clearly, they're not in Kansas - er, Ilyon, anymore." I laughed out loud. XD It was great. :D
@Sarah: I thought it was so cool how you started yours like you would if it had really happened and you where telling us. :D I loved how you grabbed a giant zucchini. XD AND YOU THROUGH THE ZUCCHINI AT JACE. At JACE. O____O Yikes. I was laughing so hard when I realized that. (Also, you are so lucky to have got to write Jace. XD)
Keep it up y'all! This is tiding me over while I wait for Samara's Peril! :D
I can hardly wait to post my next bit. I hope our time limit isn't affected by how long some people take to post there parts.
I don't think we're doing this in real life time... right? Firefly, it's your turn in case you didn't know! :D
C.B. wrote: "I don't think we're doing this in real life time... right? "That's what I figured. What time are we doing it in then?
If we're doing it in real time, our month is already half-up. Um, I was just going on story time, with no actual time limit on us, but if Merenwen wants to give us a time limit, I'd say that a year would probably correlate best.

No, it's not in real time, it's in story time. :)
@Kendra: A year in which to write it, or have it finished by the end of the year?? I'm good either way. :)
How about, a way to correlate story time (this is just a rough idea, sorry if I don’t explain well)?
Let's say it started on September 22, and that’s the day/night everyone met their characters on (bar the differing time zones).
Like this:
September 22
[Insert event]
September 22
[Insert the second event (continuation of the meeting)]
And so on until you get to the next morning. You could add a time tag if you want (ie, “morning,” “afternoon,” “evening”), I suppose…
September 23, morning
[Insert event]
If anyone else has a better idea, please let me know! :D
Sorry guys! I meant to do my part a few days ago but got sick and have been in bed and no where near a computer to do so.
Ok, I did it. It's short and I'm not really that happy with it but I wanted to do quickly so you guys aren't waiting forever :P
You have no idea how hard I was laughing while reading it, because I'm picturing you doing that, and I can totally see it and it is priceless
You are a bit too evil, don't you think?! *grins evilly while trying not to laugh* I'm sorry you felt bad. We can totally wait on anyone. This is for fun!!!
I'm probably going to panic when I realize that no one has checked in to report Talas and Daniel ... though that may take me a few days.
My next part will involve me taking a tally of everyone who had "posted" on the forum with the news that they found a character. Also I will be informing everyone of the fading thing, and issuing a "if you have a character randomly show up on your doorstep, this is not a good thing. Get them to Jaye as fast as you can."Interesting ... so you're only going to report Kaden? Or is Kaden going to ...
Ha Firefly! I thought you did a great job. I love how you gave Daniel a big hug. Then when he was unreceptive to it you stuck your tongue out at him. Lol
Well Kendra, since Firefly and I live on the same street and see each other at church and choir, I'll probably find out about it sooner or later (most likely sooner, since a dragon is rather difficult to conceal- though on second thought, there are lots of woods...) and drag her with me to Wisconsin. Maybe I can bribe her with goldfish...
You are all so funny. I've got mine up now. I may get lost when I finally get over though. Anyone wan't to meet up with me? I've got an extra dragon.
I was in much of a hurry to really figure that out. I might get blown off course anyway, but I'm pretty sure it will be somewhere in California.
Oh, okay. I'm on the East Coast, so I don't think that'll work too well, unless I get REALLY lost :)
@Bria: Cali...anywhere specifically? I'm close enough where I might be able to make a detour of some sort.Or possibly get one of my relatives (in an entirely fictional manner) to help. :)
Bria wrote: "Nowhere specific. I'm happy to meet up a few states over. Where are you located?"Sorry for taking so long to reply! D:
I don't feel comfortable sharing it here, since this is a public forum, but I don't mind sending it to you in a PM. :)
*notices that Bria's name isn't coming up in the "To" box* Uh, do I need to have someone added as a friend before I can send a PM? Anyone know??
I think it depends if the person's profile is private. Bria might be able to change it in settings...
Awesome Amanda! If you have a stranger from another world, the first thing you should do is make hot cocoa. :P
Gabriela wrote: "Fun, fun! That is awesome Amanda! Should I do my part next?"You're welcome to do yours next, or wait, if you so prefer. I might suggest using the format:
[x] Hours Earlier:
[whateveryouwanttowritehere]
Present:
[whenyoucomeandknockonmydoor]
That was the only thing I could think of without messing up the time frame.
@Alyssa:
I suppose that if I were from a strange world, cocoa would make everything better. Perfectly logical solution to poor unfortunate book characters subject to time and space travel, am I right?
