2)The Martain by Andy Weir. (Sci-Fi)(a totally different genre)
3)And the Mountains echoed by Khaled Hosseini.(place name) Does No.3 qualify?
Only chose 3 catagories for my first reading challenge.
What a great excuse to make the time to sit down and read.

Not sure which three of the following

1). Geographical Setting: Read a book set in a different country than your own. Dying in the Dark USA (I am from Australia not surprisingly)

2). Travel to a Different Genre: Read a book from a genre you haven't explored before/for a long time. The Girl with the Iron Touch (its steampunk and I don't believe I have ever read it)

3). Cover Hunt: Read a book with a picture of a mode of transport on the cover. Shadows of the Master sailing ship on the cover

4). Title: Read a book with a PLACE NAME in the title, such as the name of a country, state, city, town, etc. Titles with words like ‘woods’, ‘beach’, ‘mountain’, ‘river’, ‘garden’, ‘park’, etc, in the title would count as places too. The Hourglass Factory "factory" does that count?

5).Reader’s Choice: Read any book of your choice. Language and Power

You go back to your original post where your books are listed and click on "edit". Then rate your books as you read them. Once you've finished you can copy and paste the completed list in a new post to show everyone you've finished, what you read and how you rated them :)

If you check September challenge now you'll see some completed posts coming through..this will give you the idea :) And once October starts you'll see the posts from people as they complete a read:)

Oh dear, I just read the new guidelines and I had planned to read Leon Garfield's classic set in london

1). Geographical Setting: Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Buttons by Louise Rennison (really just looking for an excuse to read this book and nearly every book is written in a different location to what I am) 5/5 stars. This had me laughing so much! (19 October)

2). Travel to a Different Genre: More Than This by Patrick Ness. Yes I've read so much fiction in my time but, I've never read a book with a gay main character before, super excited for this one. LOVED this book! Wow what an amazing concept Patrick Ness thought of 4/5 stars (24 October)

3). Cover Hunt: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling.. it has a hippogriff on it that's definitely a mode of transport haha.

4). Title: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. 4/5 stars what an amazing start to a seemingly fantastic series! Super excited to read the rest. (17 October)

5). Reader’s Choice: Attachments by Rainbow Rowell 4/5 stars such a cute read, left me smiling. (5 October)

Oh incidentally, regarding modes of transport, In the Heart of the Sea: The Epic True Story That Inspired Moby-Dick you can only really see the Whale Fluke in the post but there is also a sailing ship in the background.

Not that I am saying that a whale (or a hippogriff) are not totally reasonable as modes of transport...

My goodreads is out by a day? Just started reading The Girl on the Train and updated status to currently reading just then, yet Goodreads states that I started reading it on the 30th of September? Had this happen the other day too, finished reading Intensity on the 29th but goodreads states that I finished on the 28th? Anyone else had this happen or have any ideas on how I can fix it? Sharon, Goodreads stems from the US - they are around 17 hours (give or take) behind us. Don't worry...you can change it when you "edit review" - "change to today"...
