Ladyacct | 153 comments If some psycho got a hold of Eve's team. . . Finally getting ahold of either Peabody, Trueheart, and/or Baxter?

Oh Wow! I think Eve would go ballistic...and then methodically set about doing what she does best - solving the case, getting them back, and making the villain pay.

You're talking about killing off a major secondary character?

I was referring to (view spoiler)

message 6: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 153 comments There are alot of cops in her squad....not just the ones we know and probably some uniforms unknown to us even as yet.

Oh! I misunderstood the situation you were posing, Ladyacct. I don't want to consider that one...wouldn't want to lose one of my fav characters.

Maggie | 1576 comments I don't think Eve would recover, no matter how it happened she would blame herself.

message 9: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 153 comments I dont think Roarke would let her

message 10: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments He would try, but inside Eve would always blame herself.

Dawn | 3250 comments I think both Eve and Roarke would go crazy to get them freed, then Eve would need a lot of time with Mira.

message 12: by Ladyacct (new)

Ladyacct | 153 comments Mira would need time with Mira too

Kirsten (kmcripn) This happened in a way... was it Traitor in Death? Peabody in threatened but not in the way you were thinking. However, I'm sure that J.D. would actually do something like this. If she felt one of the characters wasn't growing like she wanted, she might do it. It's hard to continually have things that will provide the drama and emotion for Eve and Roarke like she does.

That's one reason I wish she spread out the books. Not how often they come out, I'd never wish for that. But when they are placed in Eve's world. There's like nearly 40 books and only 2 years in Eve's life? Not even NYC should have a murder rate that high!

Treachery in Death is the one you're thinking of, Kirsten.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Thanks! Hey, Treachery, Traitor. I was close!

She was a traitor so it works.

I really can't see any difference between one of the characters getting hurt or one of them getting killed. In Vision, when Peabody was attacked the whole department, including Roarke, went after the prep. When they found him Eve also managed to kick him in the balls, and said that was for Peabody.
She also felt guilty because she didn't think about him attacking Peabody.

She did something similar in Witness when Trueheart was hurt.
