25.10 - M1nks's Task: Let a Little Light and Colour In!
Tara Jo wrote: "Thanks...can you clarify if the SUN isn't bright enough, or the surrounding sky isn't bright enough? I'm guessing you mean the sky, but just want to confirm as the brightness of the sun seems more..."The meaning of the challenge is 'sun worship' by lying out in the sun. There 'is' light but it's from a setting sun behind clouds and I just don't think it's bright enough. (to clarify, if the light was more intense and it was clear that it was shining on them it would be ok)
Your other cover has a person standing up. They need to be sitting or lying down.
Please verify if the red jacket on
works for Option 4.And are the horses clear enough on
for Option 3?

for option 4?Her pants are plain white, but the sweater is green, is it enough to count as 50% bright colored?

"Sorry for the delay! Yes, that's fine; women lying on a sandy beach in bathing costumes is definitely sun worship.
Marscha wrote: "Will
work for option 1?"I don't think so because she's a vampire correct? The backgrounds a little oddly coloured but I'm pretty sure that no vampire is going to be sunning herself.
If I'm wrong though then let me know and I'll amend my decision.

Yes, that will pass.
Melanie wrote: "Is this sunny enough for option 1?
and for option 4 are their clothes okay?
"Your first book doesn't work. There isn't anything to indicate that they are even outside other than the inference of lying on the blanket and there is no strong light shining on them.
The second one fro option 4 is ok.
hi, are the horses on
ok? (pulling the coach in the middle of the page)and
would this work for either the "in the sun" or the bright colours?

Thanks!!
Hi! Wondering if
would work for option 1? Sadly, they are all wearing dark colors so I doubt I can use them for the brightly dressed option :( Thank you!
Narumon wrote: "Hi! Wondering if

No it won't work for Option 4 and it also won't really work for Option 1. The adults are all leaning rather than sitting and the child appears to be being half dangled/lifted? I don't really see in his posture that he's indulging in some 'sun worship' :-)
It would however work for Option 2 if that is of any use?

Thanks Nicola!Time to move books around. Hazard of creating a TBR and then not sticking to it. Oh well, now I have an excuse to add yet another book to my TBR :-)

My TBR stack for this challenge has a certain amount of 'fluidity' as well :-)
Can I check that
for option 1 and
for option 4 will work? I'm about to begin The Midwich Cuckoos and want to make sure I've absolutely understood this task before committing to it!
Catie wrote: "Can I check that

For Option 4, I was wondering if either of these two romance covers would work:
or
Both dresses would cover the shoulders if not unlaced/pushed down for sexiness's (is that a word? it's a word now, I've decided) sake. Thought I'd check first with you.

They need to be covering the shoulders in the actual picture sorry :-)

Darn, but glad I asked first. Thanks! Back to the drawing board :)
Ok, idea number 2 for Option 4:Would Cleopatra: A Life work as bright-colored clothing? (has sleeves and being worn appropriately this time! :p )
Melissa wrote: "Ok, idea number 2 for Option 4:Would Cleopatra: A Life work as bright-colored clothing? (has sleeves and being worn appropriately this time! :p )"
I'm afraid that's no good either. There isn't enough of the dress showing to be sure it's 50% colourful.
Also, I'm not sure if it would work anyway. The shoulders look actually to be covered by a transparent shawl rather than actual sleeves? This wouldn't be 'warm' enough :-)
Sorry!

Yeah, now that I look at it again, it does look more scarf than sleeves. I'll find it a different home. Thanks!

I've already got a Bio for that one but I found it a home in Dakimel's 25.6 Wedding task - it's borrowed from the library ;)
Turns out I have Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis - so can use the horse option for your task :)

Figured as much. lol. Was scrolling through digital audiobooks available at my library trying to cram a couple more in this round.
