As I studied Anthropology, I love reading in that genre, especially mythology. Would you consider most books about the Aztecs that covered their mythology and not specifically or only about Huitzilopochtli? For instance, I found this one that looks very interesting - A War of Witches : A Journey into the Underworld of the Contemporary Aztecs, and just wondered whether it would be good for option 1 as it discusses "the highly sacred rituals concerning the gods and lost souls of the modern Aztecs."Thank you!
Would a reference to a team name of "Tigers" work? The team name/logo references actual Tigers but obviously it's not a team of real tigers :-)
Detroit Tigers, Australian Football Auburn Tigers, etc?

Thank you!"
That looks like a nice cheerful blue to me :-)

"Definitely fine. You can't get much brighter than a hot pink jumpsuit!
Terri FL wrote: "As I studied Anthropology, I love reading in that genre, especially mythology. (Although if at least half of the book directly dealt with their sun god that would be acceptable)

No sorry Jamie. The name has to be referring to an actual cat.

Thanks for the speedy response!

for Option 4?"Not particularly bright but a soft pastel blue does work so approved :-)

Yes, that is a cat. Or it looks like one.

I remember very clearly how any green space would be filled when a little bit of sun came out. :)

And can you confirm this one for option 3 -
. The horse is on the left. Thanks.

Thanks!

I'm sorry Jamie, I'm going to have to change my mind on this one. The colour is absolutely fine but it looks like it doesn't cover her shoulders.

It could just be that her dress is falling off in her passion ;-)
Would the following covers work?
for Option one, girl on towel on beach . It must be sunny because there is a shadow of a man crossing her legs

That cat does look nightmarish!

Yes to both of those.

Will they work for the task?"
As your first book seems to be saying from the blurb that he is compared to an actual tiger that is approved.
The second is also ok. Sari's are lovely and colourful.
Amy wrote: "Will this work for option 1, or do you need to see the entire person(s)?
"You don't need to see the whole person so long as it's clear what they are doing. In this case I'd say that they were sitting at the end of a wharf/dock and rolling their pants up to catch the sun while dangling their feet in the water. A clear sign of sun worship!
Kathy G. wrote: "
Is this bright blue enough?"
Seems more purple to me, but either way it's colourful and not drab. Approved.
Kathy G. wrote: "Can you see the horse--- on thepath by the house? (if you enlarge it?)

"Yes I can. Approved.
Nicola wrote: "Ellen wrote: "

Nicola, there is a cover for this book that does have a horse:
.Ellen, be careful to select the cover of the actual book you read when posting - if you read the one with the horse on the cover.

This is a two-book task, and each book must be from a different option. REQUIRED: State which options you used when you claim this task.
Option 1. The Aztecs were Sun worshipers and their religious observances were rather unpleasant; these days we are a bit more relaxed about it.
Read a book about the Aztec God of the Sun Huitzilopochtli (if you really want to) OR read a book with a cover showing one or more people sitting or lying down outside in the sun.
REQUIRED: Include the cover when posting.
Option 2. The beautiful and magnificent jaguar (great cat) actually originally came from North America and then migrated down to Central and South America (see, migration is nothing new!). The Great Cat has been worshipped and venerated by many different cultures in many different ways but, as a cat, I'm sure it considered such devotion its due. I'm more of a dog lover myself but in the spirit of the challenge I wish to pay tribute to this lovely animal as well.
Read a book that has a picture of a cat (any sort ranging from a housecat to a sabre-toothed tiger) on the cover OR with a type of cat in its TITLE. The type of cat can vary but the meaning must be referring to an actual animal, so "tiger" would be fine, but a woman named "Cat" or a "catamaran" (meaning 'boat') wouldn't. Plurals, possessives and compound words are fine so long as the meaning of 'cat' is intact.
REQUIRED: Include the cover showing the 'cat' if you choose the cover option.
Option 3. When I was studying some ancient civilisations at university I was surprised to learn that South American cultures didn't really use the wheel, no doubt greatly in part due to their terrain. Instead they mostly relied on beasts of burden carrying things directly on their backs. They used Llamas but in the West our equivalent would be horses.
Read a book with a picture of a horse on the cover.
REQUIRED: Include the cover when posting.
Option 4. I live in London and it's an amazingly vibrant city; unfortunately it can also be a bit of a grey and depressing city when the weather turns cold and rainy and it starts to get dark earlier and earlier. During the change of season people's winter wardrobes start to appear, usually far too early, and I hate the drab colours. Just because we have to put away our summer dresses doesn't mean it should be the end of colour until late spring.
Read a book with some nice brightly coloured clothing on the cover. At least 50% of the outfit must be a bright, vibrant, or bold color. For example, red, pink, orange, bright blue or pastel colours would work. Dark, somber or pale colors, such as black, brown, dark navy blue, dark dark green or even plain white will NOT work. It's no longer summer so no shorts, light garden party style dresses or obviously inappropriate clothing like thin shoulder straps or uncovered shoulders.
Examples:
This one won't work because it's clearly a summer dress -
