Fall Challenge 2015: Questions/Problems in Completed Tasks

Since you are combining two options for task 25.5, you must provide the required elements for both options. Option C requires that you include the cover in your post. Please repost this task including the required element.

Reposts must be complete, including links. Please repost.
Hint: To copy a post and maintain the links, click edit on the lower right of the posting box and copy the text including the link html code.

We don't have a Christen on the active Readerboard name list. If you are a returning player, please repost with your Readerboard name at the top of your post. If you are new to the challenge, welcome! Please request a Readerboard name in the Readerboard Names thread. After your Readerboard name is set up you will need to repost the task(s) in these posts with your Readerboard name at the top of the post in order to claim points.
Also, when you repost, all completed task posts must contain a link to the book being claimed for points. You can find out how to add links here: Add book/author and Add cover.

Task 20.2 requires that for a storyline including a romance, the Goodreads description or reviews must include something indicating a romance, OR, a main page genre of Romance must be listed. I don't see anything in the GRs description or the first several reviews that mentions a romance. Please repost this task including a link to a review that does so.

Goodreads Author tickets will no longer be awarded. They have been replaced with:
20.4 GOLDEN OLDIES - Players may earn a ticket for each book FIRST published in or before 1950. A random ticket will be drawn from the ticket pool to determine who creates this task. Challenge finishers are not eligible for the drawing. Players must specifically request a ticket in the post by claiming "Golden Oldie" and stating the original publication year. See the current season's Posting Requirements for more information.

799 and 800 are the same post. I don't know how I posted twice. Sorry"
It happens. Thanks for letting us know, though! ;-)

Task 30.3, book 1 requires that you specifically state in your post that your book was first published before you were born. Please repost this task with the required element.

Task 25.6, option 4 is a cover task. All cover tasks require that you include the cover when posting. Please repost this task with the required element.

Task 20.7 is a one book task (all the 20-pointers are). For now, I've recorded Throne of Glass for this task. Feel free to use Delirium elsewhere. See post #52 in this thread concerning the same issue.

Thanks, will look for a different book.

Thanks, I will re-post.

Thanks, I will review the rules.

Sorry, Category 7 won't work for 5.1. The task specifically requires a book that includes a natural disaster, not a man-made one. The description of Category 7 states: "Except that Simone isn't natural. She's the product of rogue weather science being wielded by billionaire Carter Thompson as part of a personal vendetta against US President Winslow Benson."

Frost og aske and Nattergalens død won't work for task 25.9. The task description says: "The letters in HIP MUST appear in the title (not subtitle or series title) of each book." Neither book has the letters H I P in the title.

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things will not work for task 20.4. The task requires that your book choice be first published between 1915 and April 17, 2015. Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things was first published in September 2015.

Ah, rats. Missed that bit. Though silver lining, it does pair with another book for Sandy's task and I'd been having trouble with that one.

Ahh, sorry I hadn't seen that. I'll use them for another task.

Unfortunately, Unlucky 13 won't work for task 15.10. The task states: "Books written by multiple authors may be used only if all authors have written a pep talk." It does not appear that Maxine Paetro has written a pep talk.

Task 25.9 requires that the letters in HIP appear in the title of each book. Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart is missing a P and Wicked in Your Arms has no H or P in the title.

Oh poo. I missed that part!

Chris MD is listed as having 35 points. It should be only 25. I've only had one post, #839

In post 839 you claimed and got points for 5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 10.1, and 10.10.
5 + 5 + 5 + 10 + 10 = 35

Sorry, forgot that part when I was looking at the list. I used that book for another task and will switch some to reads around for this one.

We have several SAMs participating in the challenge. Please repost the task in this post with your Readerboard name at the top of your post.

Sorry, but the Goodreads record, which is what we always go by, says The Moor's Account was Published September 9th 2014 by Pantheon (first published January 1st 2014), which is before Sept 2014. You can use this book for book 1 of the two book option, but it won't work for the one book option.

Task 25.8, option A requires that you include a link to IMDb in your post to show the TV series. Please repost this task with the required element.
No need to repost the other tasks in this post. The points for those tasks have been recorded.

I'm so sorry - I keep forgetting! I get excited to post and forget the readerboard name. I will do better :)

Kristina, I suspect that the first published date for this book is in error. I cannot find anything to show that the book was published prior to 9/9/14. January 1st is often a default date when no date is entered.

I think Bea's right that it's an error, but it is easy for me to switch a couple of books so I will just do that and repost.

Amazon has it that the hardcover edition was published on September 9, 2014. Wikipedia has that date also. World Cat only states 2014, but this seems to be the correct date. I'll edit the Goodreads entry

Bea, Gayla (and others) - we use the GRs record to keep us (the moderators) from going insane. With so many tasks/books to validate, we can't research each case, at least not without giving up reading ourselves. But if you ever find an obvious mistake in the records, you can always get a GRs librarian (like Pia) to correct the record for you. We even have a thread set up for that purpose: anyone with librarian status.... If you ask and get things corrected before posting, you can even stay out of this thread. ;-)
Gayla -- Since Pia's fixed the record for this book, if you want to use it for this task, you can. You just need to repost it so I can pick it up as I go through the completed task posts.

All reposts must be complete, including links. Please repost.

Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen has an ampersand in the title. Neither of the quotes for task 30.4 have an ampersand in them and nowhere in the task description or in the help thread does it state that an ampersand can be spelled out and used.

We don't have a LESLIE on the active Readerboard name list. If you are a returning player, please repost with your Readerboard name at the top of your post. If you are new to the challenge, welcome! Please request a Readerboard name in the Readerboard Names thread. Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution won't work for task 30.6, option 1. That option requires that the letters ME be found in the author's name, not the title. Michelle Moran does not include the required sequential letters.

Task 15.9 requires that the name of the animal totem be found on the list linked in the task description. Blood on Copperhead Trail will not work. Copperhead is a type of snake, but copperhead is not on the list. If you want to use the animal totem snake, the word "snake" must be found in the title of the book.

Oooh. I've used this book's prequels in previous challenges and it hadn't had Children as a genre on its main page, so I didn't pay much attention to the genres listings. My bad. I'll repost it.

Goodreads Author tickets will no longer be awarded. They have been replaced with:
20.4 GOLDEN OLDIES - Players may earn a ticket for each book FIRST published in or before 1950. A random ticket will be drawn from the ticket pool to determine who creates this task.
