I'm reading Sustained by Emma Chase. I like it pretty well so far. Hero is kind of an a-hole but he's recovering. Heroine has just gotten guardianship over her five nieces and nephews after her brother and sister-in-law were killed in a car accident. It seems to me that these kids are remarkably well adjusted for having just lost both parents, but that might just be my cynical side talking.

Now on to Robyn Carr's newest, WILDEST DREAMS.

I'm reading Good Earl Gone Bad, an October 6 release, by an author many of you know. :) I'm loving it!

jealous!!

jealous!!"
Me, too! And I see that I bought the first book and have not read it yet. How could that have happened? I really need to stop reading and sort through some piles for books that are hiding :(
Hope Good Earl Gone Bad is good. I hear the author is a real pain;)
You said it exactly, Irish! I feel like sometimes people get all bent out of shape just to have some drama. Not saying folks aren't entitled to their opinions of course, but I really don't know what there is about the book to inspire all the teeth gnashing and anger. It's still a Lisa Kleypas book which means its automatically better than most of the stuff out there.

I think there is some of this with any highly anticipated book. I can remember being amazed at some of the vicious remarks about Sarah MacLean's Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover. I'm already prepared, no matter how good it is, to hear similar complaints regarding JAL's The Legend of Lyon Redmond. I know some readers are already bemoaning a Lyon-Olivia HEA.

I will not be at all surprised if thats the case with the Long book, Janga. I guess it's just the nature of the beast.

I have two new ones to read--the new Balogh and the new Deanna Rayburn.
I realized reading all your comments that I should rate the half dozen books I read recently.
I thought the new Carr was ok but not wonderful, I liked Jodi Thomas' new series a lot, and I thought the Lure of the Moonflower was good if a bit depressing. However I am really ready for Tessa Dare to end her castle series and move on.

I'm reading When a Scot Ties the Knot this week and I agree that this one isn't quite as good as the other two in the series. The set-up for the characters is outlandish to begin with (not to mention horribly inaccurate for a Historical) but I'm really not liking them much. Oh well...

Thanks for the link, Danielle! :)
I'm in between books now. Think it's either going to be the new Balogh or one of the ARC's I'm doing pieces at Criminal Element for this weekend.

Manda, I'll be raving about Good Earl Gone Bad in a review soon. For now, I'll just say I loved it and think not only that the Lords of Anarchy series is your best work but that this book is even stronger than A Good Rake Is Hard to Find.
I'm about to start the second book in Madeline Hunter's wicked trilogy, Tall, Dark, and Wicked. I really liked His Wicked Reputation and am looking forward to this one. I also have an ARC of Loretta Chase's Dukes Prefer Blondes that I can't wait to read.

Janga, you do not know how happy it makes me to hear you say that! Sincere thanks. One of these days maybe I'll figure out how to judge my own work. But today isn't that day, clearly! Xoxo
