Hey everyone! My name is Jennifer. I live in Utah. I enjoy most genres but I'm always looking for something truly spooky to read. I haven't read a book that has scared me for a while now. I'm almost finished with my reading challenges for the year. After that, I'll need some recommendations for something good and creepy for the rest of the year.

Hello everyone! I am Joshua MacMillan, I am author of horror and dark fiction! Last year I released my debut novel- The Best of Intentions, along with two short stories- one in an anthology from D&T Publishing titled ABC's of Terror Vol. 2, and the other as a standalone. I look forward to connecting and getting to know more people who love the genre! I particularly love slashers/home invasion type stuff, but I am a lover of ALL things eerie, creepy, and disturbing!

Hi folks, I'm new on here and looking to meet friends, and hopefully some critics, as I've self-published my debut novel 'Surfing with The World Wide Dead' which is avaliable for FREE on several sites.I'll admit I'm a notoriously lazy reader considering, but I'll be on the lookout for works (preferably horror) by other new writers as I appreciate how difficult it is to get noticed.

Hi Jonathan, I have updated the book for you, the author was actually Jonathan D. Wood and it was missing the D. so now it links to the correct person. It usually takes about 10-15 min to update, I will check your author page later to see if it got removed, as it now links to the proper author.
If that doesn't work I can delete it and re-enter it on GR, as it doesn't have any ratings or reviews yet. If not the superlibrarians in the librarian group can do that for you if you post on there with your request.

Hi All! Just joined the group... many of my GR friends and Twitter mutuals are members here, and I noticed Char is mod, so it seems like a fun place to hang out :) I live in the US (New York), married, and have three kids. Horror was my favorite genre from when I was a teen, but then I moved away from it for several years as I got more involved in the fantasy genre. For whatever reason, my interests have swung back to horror in the last couple years and I'm having a great time rediscovering/exploring the field.
I'm very much on a Ramsey Campbell kick right now, as his work seems to hit all the marks I like best about horror (atmospheric, slow burn, creepy without being too gory, interesting characters, etc.). But of course there's plenty other authors I also love!
I also enjoy watching movies and shows. Especially a huge fan of the Chucky franchise :)

@Stephanie: Welcome and I'm sure you've heard this a million times but definitely the classics by Stephen King. Everything from 'Salem's Lot, It, Cujo, The Shining, Misery, etc. checks all those boxes you asked for! I also really enjoyed Billy Summers and even though it's not horror, the suspense of it was beyond amazing :-)
