"Are they still…alive?" He asked

Kyla looked down and shook her head. "No.."
"I'm sorry." He continued to look around.
"Don't be." Kyla replied. She kept wandering the house, examining everything.
Kyla sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
After he was done they took the body away.
Kyla looked over at him before around the house again. She talked quietly to herself.
"I'm going to head back to my place, need a lift back?" He asked
"No. It's okay. My car is parked down the street.." Kyla replied. She looked at him, biting her lip.
He nodded. "Okay. See you around." He walked out of the house.
Kyla nodded. She left a few minutes after he did.
Kyla drove back to the hotel where she was staying. It happened to be the same hotel as the one he was staying at.
Before he entered the room he saw her pull up.
Kyla sighed. She grabbed her backpack and got out. She bit her lip, glancing around.
He went inside his room before she saw him.
Kyla walked to her room. She unlocked and went inside, tossing her backpack lightly on the bed.
He took off his suit and got dressed in his regular attire.
Kyla ran a hand through her hair. She grabbed her laptop and sat on the bed.
He sat on the bed and looked through his tablet.
Kyla opened the laptop and started doing some research. She turned on her music, needing some kind of background noise
He headed the music in his room and chuckled. He started liking through his older shifter cases.
Kyla bit her lip, lost in thought. She couldn't remember hunting a shifter before.
He looked through his old cases and sighed.
Kyla sighed, unable to find anything about her or her brother hunting a shifter.
None of the other shifter cases were like this.
Kyla got up and started pacing. She was talking quietly to herself.
He finally found one that matched up. "AHA!!"
Kyla ran a hand through her hair. She went back to her laptop and opened an Internet tab.
He read through the first case then through his notes on this case.
There was an exact resemblance to the cases.
"Come on, Riley. You had to have at least hunted one shifter. But of course, you didn't put it in your notebook..." Kyla muttered to herself.
He went to tell the girl what he found
Kyla kept talking to herself. She bit her lip, scanning through what she found online.
He found her room and knocked on the door.
"Coming." Kyla set her laptop down and walked to the door. She unlocked it and pulled it open.
Jason stood there with his tablet. "I think I just solved the case.
"Okay." Kyla moved back to let him come in. She waited for him to explain.
He went in and showed her his tablet. "These to cases are the same. This one is from two years ago and this one is from today."
Kyla nodded. She took the tablet from him and quickly scanned through the two cases. "Wow.. Do you think it's the same shifter from before then?" She asked quietly.
"Or one related to it. I thought I killed the first one." He said
"You probably did.." She said quietly. Kyla handed the tablet back, sitting on the bed. She began typing something into her laptop.
He sat next to her and looked at what she was searching.
She was adding the shifter case and what he had told her about it into a journal like document.
Kyla sighed quietly. She talked to herself, lost in her own thoughts.
Kyla kept talking to herself as she typed.
