I've read two books by King and can't say that I'm a fan. But I've seen the movie The Secret Window and I did like it. Is the movie faithful adaptation to King's Secret Window, Secret Garden ?

It doesn't say in lyrics why he gets hits.

Maybe because he is the new guy or maybe it's sort of dark humour to show he is hit in the head too many times and b/c of that he is obsessed with the girl.
