message 353: by Bella (new)

Bella | 33 comments I'm at 136 books out of 401. That's 34% and 37 books ahead of schedule. Good to have a bit of padding early in the year.

Margriet Assen | 51 comments Mine says that I am one behind. The weekend has only just started so I might catch up during the coming days.

message 358: by NzingaMarie (new)

NzingaMarie | 34 comments My widget is upset with me. I'm 5 books behind :( I have to spend a lot more time catching up so I can be ahead again by the end of April.

6 books behind schedule... Eek!

message 361: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I'm with you Holly - 7 books behind on my end. **crosses fingers that May will be a good month**

message 362: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Me too! I have a load of essays due at the end of May, but I find that when I'm really stressed, I read rather than watch TV, so I get more read!

Well, I'm hoping I can trick myself into believing that...

message 363: by Lisa R. (new)

Lisa R. | 28 comments I am at 28 of 30. I am amazed that I've been able to read so much!

message 364: by Gareth (new)

Gareth | 166 comments I'm now on 27 of 20. I didn't think I'd read that much, so quickly. I think because I've started reading 2 or 3 (with an audiobook) at a time it's meant I've read more.

message 365: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments I'm now only 3 books behind, says my mean little widget :) I've made some good progress in catching up recently so a few more days of reading and I should be able to catch up.

message 366: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 221 comments Have completed 162/250 books and my widget says am 53 books ahead of schedule! All thanks to April and May, which were just great reading wise. :)

Kassandra | -1 comments Congrats Srividya! 53 books ahead is AMAZING!

message 368: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 221 comments Thanks Kassandra! I have all the team/group challenges that I joined this year to thank for that kind of speed reading. :)

Alessandra (chibisuke) | 266 comments Wow, that's amazing Srividya!
Congrats on nearly catching up, Kassandra! You can do it! :D

message 370: by megan (last edited Jun 10, 2015 10:26AM) (new)

megan | 1160 comments I have read 87 of 125 books - 33 ahead of schedule. I've been traveling a lot for work, which means hours and hours in a car or plane. Essentially, I am being paid to read ~ 8 hours a week because I am never the one who drives.

message 371: by Alessandra (new)

Alessandra (chibisuke) | 266 comments Congrats Megan! I wish I'd get paid for reading, too :D

message 372: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments I wanted to say thank you to everyone on Goodreads, especially my friends who have encouraged me. It is almost July and I have read 23 books. I have never done well on a reading program. I would usually quit. I can't take all of the credit. The challenges make it fun.

message 373: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Congratulations on reaching 23 Cindy! That's an amazing number and I'm so happy to hear that you're doing well and that the challenges are helping you with your goals.

Monique (monty454) | 130 comments My widget says "You're so close. 19 out of 20 books read". 10 books ahead of schedule. I agree with the others; friends on here help with inspiration, encouragement and discussions. Think I'm going to have to up the ante next year! Well done Cindy and Megan!

Susan, if you only joined yesterday and already one book down that's pretty good going :)

Monique (monty454) | 130 comments Iasa, thanks, what do you think of Hamish Macbeth so far, haven't ready any of MC Beatons books yet?

I found that with Agatha Christie but because a few of them were set in different countries it made it more interesting. Books do give great insight into a country, I've been looking at the Elizabeth Peters thread, that looks interesting for Egypt I love all things Egypt and Egyptian history. I also loved Khalid Hosseini's Afghanistan books - they gave a really great insight into the country and it's problems as did Asne Sierstadts books about Iraq. Visited Scotland a couple of years ago, Edinburgh great, lots of castles and steeped in history, do come over if you can.

message 379: by Bella (last edited Jun 21, 2015 03:49PM) (new)

Bella | 33 comments Iasa, have you read the DCI Lorimer series? It's set in Glasgow. I'm reading the first book now, Never Somewhere Else by Alex Gray, and one of my favorite things is to Google the places and look at the pictures. For a city, Glasgow seems to have a lot of beautiful parks. The series is not a cozy, though.

So does mine, Becca!

message 382: by Sinead (new)

Sinead | 4 comments I'm 3 behind at 27 out of 60, determined to complete this year as only managed 54 out of 60 last year! Think I need to stop reaching for the 400+ pagers for a few weeks until I see an'ahead of schedule' for the first time ever!

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian (klandersen) | 455 comments For a while I was 3 almost 4 books behind, I picked up speed a little these last couple of weeks and have now caught up. As of last night finishing off Charmed #31 Picture Perfect my widget is finally now "On Track". Hopefully I can stay on track for the rest of the year and not fall behind like I did.

CaptKirk42 Classic Whovian (klandersen) | 455 comments 12/20 Now 1 book ahead. Yay me.

message 397: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments My widget says completed. I can't do a happy dance because I don't know how to dance. I have two left feet and would trip over myself.

message 398: by Faye, The Dickens Junkie (new)

Faye | 1415 comments Mod
You could just kind of jig a bit in your seat if you'd like, Cindy. It does the job just as well. :)

Way to go!

message 399: by Kassandra (new)

Kassandra | -1 comments Way to go Cindy! You can always try a happy fist pump or head nod.

message 400: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments I will take all of your advice. Doing a jig in my seat, squealing and fist pumping. I just hope I don't scare my cats. They are giving me is that necessary look.
