Katie McGarry (Author of Pushing the Limits) Q&A Event--March 10-13th
Awesome, Gabby! Katie will be here March 10th to answer your questions!
And so glad you're in!! :)
And so glad you're in!! :)

Hi Katie! *tries casually waving*
How many books are you planning for the Pushing the Limits series?
If you couldn't be an author, what would you be?
Cannot wait for March 10th ^.^

I just love the way she writes her books.
Among the female protagonists in your books, who do you think resembles you the most?

Do you know who posed as the cover model for Isaiah?
Damn"
Yes. Yes. I second that question! Haha.

Where did the idea for the Pushing the Limits series come from?
Who was your favorite character to write about?
What's your writing process like?

Both Echo and Noah were well-developed characters, did you base them from real-life characters, or were they products of your awesome imagination?
Are you also into Greek mythology like Echo's mother?

Which is your favourite couple that you have written about?
I read that you have experienced repressed memories before just like Echo has, what is this experience like?

Okay here are my questions:
Did you know this was going to be a series when you wrote the first book?
What do you like about writing a series like this where each book has a different main character, but other characters still make an appearance?
1. Are there going to be any more books in the Pushing the Limits companion series after Take Me On?
2. Would you ever write a direct sequel to any of the books in that series?
3. When is your new series coming out?
4. Who's your favorite author that you've met?
5. What's surprised you the most about being an author?
2. Would you ever write a direct sequel to any of the books in that series?
3. When is your new series coming out?
4. Who's your favorite author that you've met?
5. What's surprised you the most about being an author?

If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?

EVERY CHARACTER IN YOUR BOOKS HAVE A UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT PERSONALITY, WITH WHICH CHARACTER CAN YOU RELATE YOURSELF WITH?

- If you can dine with any of your favorite authors, who would it be and where will you go?
- Would you consider writing a sci-fi dystopian novel?

What would be on the soundtrack of Pushing the Limits and Dare You To?

- For the first quarter of this year, what is the most amazing thing that happened to you so far?
- What do you think about the #Selfie trend? Have you taken selfies? If yes, can you share one with us?
- A lot of members here are dog lovers (or have pets). Do you have any? What are they and their names? Can you share a photo?

WHICH RELATIONSHIP OF ALL THE STORIES YOU HAVE WROTE IS YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY?
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER?
HAVE YOU EVER PUT VALUES THAT RESEMBLE YOURSELF IN ANY OF YOUR CHARACTERS?

1. In Pushing the Limits Echo's relationship with her mother, or lack of, was so disturbing. Did you ever consider having them become closer mother and daughter?
2. In Dare to You I was SO angry with Beth's mother and the level of dysfunction! She too had a horrible mother/daughter relationship. I see terrible mothers in a lot of YA books. Do you think this reflects on our society as a whole, or do you think these dysfunctional relationships especially between mothers and daughters are developed from the author's own experiences or some other reason?

If you are going to write another book, would you venture out in a different genre? If so, what would it be?
Which do you prefer, a Good guy-Bad Girl love story or Bad Boy-Good Girl love story, why?
If you are going to have an opportunity to change an ending of a book, which book will it be?
WOW guys, some great questions so far! We are going to keep our author this week pretty busy ;) That's awesome!!!
If I could please ask that you do not put your questions in caps lock. Then I have to retype them instead of just simple copy and paste, which is a little more time consuming. Thank you! :)
Katie, I think Karen mentioned already to take you time with these, there is no big rush :) So happy to have you to our group!!

Will Isaiah ever get in contact with his fathers family and would you ever consider writing like a scene or short story where he meets them? I think they would be happy to know that Isaiah exists because it would be a piece of his father.
I think it would be really nice if Isaiah could get in contact with his foster Dad because he looked up to him so much and stayed on a good path in part because of him. I wondered if he maybe kept tabs on Isaiah since his friends own the autoshop where Isaiah works.

Will there be a lot of Isaiah in this story or only a scene or two. I just love Isaiah and hope to see scenes with Isaiah and Rachel.

Hi Marianne,
How many books are you planning for the Pushing the Limits series?
There are currently four full length novels (Pushing the Limits, Dare You To, Crash Into You, and Take Me On). There are also two novellas (Crossing the Line and Red at Night). As for future books in this series, I'll have to ask you to stay tuned. :-)
If you couldn't be an author, what would you be?
Even if I wasn't selling my books, I would still be a writer. It's just a part of who I am.

Hi Kelly,
lol Unfortunately, I do not, but I absolutely love the cover of Crash Into You.

I just love the way she writes her books.
Among the female protagonists in your books, who do you think resembles you the most?"
Hi Beatrice,
I put a small part of myself into all the characters I write. I have to say the character I relate the most to is Beth from Dare You To. Beth and I are very different, but I gave her a lot of my hurt and insecurities as a teenager.

Hi Tatis,
Thank you so much for reading PTL!
Echo: When I was in elementary school I was bitten by a dog and was so traumatized by the event that I repressed the memory. When I created Echo, I took that event and wondered what would have happened if I had a memory loss in high school. That lone what if made her story take off.
Noah: Noah was a tough character to create. While Echo "talked" easily with me, Noah kept his plot twists to himself. I knew from the start that his brothers were important to him and I often had to drag his brothers into the story to see how he would react.

56. C.K.--Will Abby be getting a story and if so have you figured out who will be her guy in the story? You asked fans on Facebbook who they would want her with and I really want Abby to have a story with Ethan or Logan. She seemed to like them both. The Abby/Ethan scenes were funny.
57. C.K.--If Abby doesn't end up with Ethan or Logan will you still consider writing a story for them. I think Ethan deserves a story too since Rachel and West have stories. Plus i'd love to see more of their twin dynamic (Thank you for having both twins alive in the story. It seems like a theme in many young/new adults to kill off a twin which I find sad).
58. C.K.--(view spoiler)[Will Isaiah ever get in contact with his fathers family and would you ever consider writing like a scene or short story where he meets them? I think they would be happy to know that Isaiah exists because it would be a piece of his father.

59. C.K.--Will there be any awkward dinner scenes with Isaiah, Abby and Rachels family in West's story? I'd love to see an awkard dinner scene or something with Isaiah and the brothers.
Will there be a lot of Isaiah in this story or only a scene or two. I just love Isaiah and hope to see scenes with Isaiah and Rachel.
60. C.K.--You mentioned that Red at Night was very special to you. Was the story inspired by something in real life?
61. Kelly--As a successful New Adult author, is it frustrating that the genre is being swamped by half baked books that are churned out only to glorify sex and unrealistic issues?
62. C.K.--When I read Crash into You, I was a little surprised that West was the first brother to kind of come around or at least tolerate Rachel/Isaiah together. Rachel mentioned that West/Isaiah made a compromise? Do you see some similarities between West and Isaiah?
63. C.K.--Does Rachel's family no that Abby and Isaiah are friends. I know they suspect that she is not "private school Abby"?
