They are hard to find. Actually, they're easy to find. It's the finding one you want to read that's the problem. :)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I should be finishing up another book soon, my kids dog at their dads house died last night, and my youngest took it really hard, so last night was tough. The dog came after me, and my older kids weren't all that affected, they are teenagers and had things to and my daughter lives exclusively with me, but my youngest who is 12 took a pretty hard, so obviously I didn't get an smudge reading in last night as usual.

I am sorry. Losing a pet is always hard. Hugs to your kids!

my youngest is sick with a virus and is very clingy. I have had to give him my ipad as he sits on my lap. So I can only listen to my book. When he goes to sleep, I will go back to reading Nevermore which reminds me of twilight

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Thanks Holli and Renee. The pediatrician prescribed amoxicillin which is tearing his stomach up. I gave him yogurt to help give him the good stomach coating etc.
We are watching all his favorites: Umizoomi, Paw Patrol, etc. Now my kids are watching Disney's Descendants---AGAIN!!!

For the sake of killing 3 birds with one stone, I have started audio Next of Kin by Sharon Sala which is a MeetnGreet book, BOM at one of my groups and starts with "N".

yea, we are all about Nick Jr, Nick, Disney and Disney Jr. Sometimes PBS Kids etc.

I did let my 6 year old watch half of Divergent and now he tells all the kids how him and mommy watched "diversion". Thankfully he doesn't even get the name right.

thanks for the well wishes. At least he is sitting on his own. Watching tv with my ipad sitting idle on his lap as he is no longer playing Mine craft

The Gods Have Spoken

The Mars the god of War has been pleased with the Gladiator Games. He has granted each gladiator a boon to be able to wish away one goal that has festered and turned sour. Gladiators wishing to use this boon must only mention their wish for a goal to be gone and speak to the gods mere mortal representatives (also known as "The Mods"... The Mortal Operations Delegation Squad).

One additional boon will be granted for each Gladiator upon the start of Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4. Additional boons may be acquired through sacrificing 3 books to the gods. Sacrificed books may not be used for attack or defense points of a gladiator. If a boon is not used it may be carried over into the next round.

All Hail Mars!

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Next of Kin by Sharon Sala
Book: Next of Kin by Sharon Sala (417 Pages)
Finished: August 9
Task: Title "N"
Rating & Review: ★★★★.
This was a second chance at love romantic suspense. Beth Veneable witnessed a murder by a crime lord. She was put into witness protection but after 3 compromised safe house stays, Beth decided to take her chances on her own. Her attempt to stay alive takes her back home to Rebel Ridge, the home she fled 10 years ago as well as her first love Ryal.
Ryal has a 10 yr grudge against Beth, but her life is more important right now. But can he forgive her for breaking his heart?

It was a well written simple story. It was suspenseful and interesting storyline. The secret that made them run surprised me because I didn't think you could keep secrets in a small town. Obviously Beth didn't have any friends because she was the only one out of loop.
I thought she should have grovelled more but I guess Ryal is a gentlemen and didn't want to make her beg.

I felt like that while reading the Game of Thrones series - I began chanting "Die Die!" in the buddy read. It worked on the first character, but good ole George hasn't finished writing yet, so I don't know if he will kill off the next one on my hate list or make me like her.

Book: One Rough Man by Brad Taylor
Finished: 8/10/15 (550 pages)
Task: book with 91+ chapters; it has 104
Rating & Review: *****

I really, really liked this book. The story is a little disturbing, but the follow through is so well done, I found it difficult to put the book down for a long time before I wanted to know what happened next. The POV shifts were a little jarring, especially in mid-chapter, but I got used to it after a while. I was only a little more than halfway through before I marked the next one as a "want to read," if that says how much I enjoyed the book. It was a little graphic, but not over-the-top and well-reflected the fact Mr. Taylor is former military and probably saw some, if not all, of what he described in fight scenes. He also didn't linger on how bad the aftereffects of gunshots and what Pike did to those he fought, which I appreciated. Pike is an interesting character and I like that he accepts what help Jennifer offers him, rather than simply writing her contributions off simply because she's a civilian. I very much look forward to reading the next book and seeing where this goes.
