I'll post an updated to here comment one the information has been entered into the spreadsheet, with the updated current tasks.

Good idea Ezi. If you know the book you are reading fits a task, let us all know here because that will help others choose which book to read next. But I will enter then into the spreadsheet on first finished basis so we have a better chance of getting through more tasks and building or defence power. Another good strategy is to aim for add many short books as we can to build our attack power.

If I start a book that fits a task and then somebody else finishes it before I do, I absolutely have no problem if they claim that task, but that's just me :-) whatever works best for anybody else is perfectly OK with me.

I love this series, it is so different than most. Although this book was much more linear than they tended to be in the past.

We can read books that don't fit tasks they count as attack points, task books count as defense points, so any book you read even if it doesn't fit a task will count towards this challenge :-) so if there aren't any available task at the time you start a book, you can read whatever and it will still count :-)

Also if a task is listed and somebody has already completed a book that will fit that task it can be put into that task, and then we will get another task, does that make sense? I had to read the rules quite a few times to figure this all out :-)

For defense we have tasks. Kelly, our master spreadsheet wizzard, made her magic, so, when we update the spreadsheet and mark a task as complete, it randomly gets a new one. It was made in a way that each team will have always 3 open tasks at same time. It also takes up to 5 minutes to get the new one.

Did I make sense, my head hurts a bit even with meds, so my english tends to get a little wonky.

Book: Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Task: Character "S": Sydney
Rating & Review: ★★★. *sighing*. I can't say I loved VA but I found it more engaging than this story. Sydney is not as annoying as Rose and Adrian isn't as sexy as Dmitri. Adrian was entertaining though.
I didn't like what Jill did for her father in VA but I see the author is giving her a new life.

Sydney was trying to figure out whose killing Vampires and why. It was outside her responsibilities as an alchemist but she wanted to protect Jill and Adrian who are spirit bonded. That began the adventure.

I may read book 2 but not right now.

Review: (bangs head on table) I'm beginning to be truly sorry I decided to re-read this whole series. I'm only reminding myself how wrong the whole of this series is and how many glaring errors practically dance across the pages in it. While it's a kids' book series, the logic failings are ridiculous. I know people love this series, and I'm happy for them. I think I only like the series for the audiobook versions with Tim Curry.

Book: Darkness Everlasting by Alexandra Ivy

Rating & Review: ★★★
If I had read this this series (and Dark Carpathians by Christine Feehan) when I was knew to this PNR/UF genre, I may have enjoyed them more. But after reading Ward, Larissa Ione, Adrian, Ilona Andrews and other similar heavy hitters, I fail to see the strong appeal of this series. It's pretty light and simple.

In this novel, the Annaso (Vampire King) Styxx is being challenged by the werewolves, who have left their authorized hunting ground and encroached on other territories. In an attempt to put them in their place, the Styxx decides instead of wiping them of the face of the earth, he will bargain with the shifters.

So he decides to find something that seems important to the wereKing Salvatore Guilliani, and use it as a bargain chip. This tool comes in the form of a bartender named Darcy. Something is special about her, but no one seems to know what. But once Styxx kidnaps her, he can't seem to let her go. But he also needs to know what makes her so important to the weres.
So begins the battle of his desires versus what's best for the Annaso's people.

Again, it was an okay read. Just kind of basic in my opinion. Nothing to write home about.
