Hannag I just finished the Hunger Games series, and I'm so ruined. I can barley look at another book, it just feels wrong and weird and I'm just lost at what to do. So, have anyone got any tips for me about books I could read that will make leaving the Hunger Games a bit easier? Not books that are similar in any way, but rather something light to recover with. I don't know if I'm making any sense, but just tell me what book you read after the Hunger Games? Thank you.

Emma When I finished The Hunger Games series I started it again. But I suppose that doesn't help.

I actually thought about it, just to sort things out and see the whole picture more clearly, but right now I just never wanna see those books ever again! I loved them but I just don't think I can put myself through that again.

Emma Fair enough.

I don't know what to suggest. I don't remember what I read after THG... but shortly after I got into The Maze Runner, if you haven't already. I read Chaos Walking even before that... but if you want something short and easy and light, then I don't know. The thinnest book on my shelf is the perks of being a wallflower. Sorry for my unhelpfulness.

It's fine, you're very helpful! I've looked up both of those many times so maybe this is the time to start reading them? Think it might be.

Menna Emad I know exactly what you are through, same thing happened to me, and couldn't read anything for two weeks . You can read something classic, like Jane Austen's "persuasion" it's my favorite.
And don't read any fanfiction they are the worst and will not help at all.

Nuran I read something completely different, different genre, different target audience. I read Gone girl.

I'm not sure if that's a book you're interested in, but reading something different might be an idea.

Yeah, that might be something! I always have the hardest time starting classics (even though I enjoy them) so this might be a good idea.

Not sure about Gone Girl, I saw the movie but honestly it wasn't for me? But I like the idea of going somewhere compleatly different. Thanks!

Rich you can try the testing by joelle charbonneau if you like :)

Sounds interesting, and it has many good reviews as well! I It seems a bit more complex than The Hunger Games, but I get the same kind of vibe. I'll check it out!

Ally If you're wanting for more gripping dystopians you may like Cinder, Divergent, Birthmarked, or The Selection.

Cinder I really wanna read and people seem to really like it, Divergent I don't really like... I saw the movie, just after I'd seen Mockingjay Part 1, so I didn't expect much but honestly I just thought it was way to much about the main characters falling in love and stuff (which I just HATE when there's a female lead) but I don't know, is the book any different?

The rest I haven't heard much about but I'll check them out! Thanks!

You're welcome! Divergent wasn't a favorite of mine either, but I did still enjoy it. Cinder is wonderful; I highly recommend it. But you may not enjoy The Selection. It's a lot heavier on the romance.

I might give Divergent a shot just 'cause everyone seems to read Hunger Games and then Divergent? Have you read the sequels? Do you know if they're any good?

Ally I read Insurgent, but not the third book, Allegiant. The sequel was just okay, in my opinion. But it's been awhile, so I've been thinking of doing a reread. I think my tastes might have changed? I think the general consensus, though, is that it's not as good as the first book.

I might check it out, we'll see.
Have you read Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi? It's also a dystopian kind of thing. I haven't read it yet but I borrowed it (mainly because the main character reminded me of Rouge in X-men), and since then I've checked some reviews and it seems... well, not good. Have you heard about it? What do you think?

Ally I've heard of it but haven't read it. It just didn't seem like something I'd enjoy.

Kristen I might go with the Selection series. It's technically in the same genre, but barely. And it's fairly light for the most part.
