You're already off to a great start!

I've been really wanting to read Mr. Mercedes but I haven't been able to think of a week to fit it into (that I haven't already read). It will definitely be going into my 2016 challenge somewhere though.

Did you like it?

Annie (bionerdannie) Hi Laura, thanks for the encouragement! :) Re: Mr. Mercedes... I'm very conflicted still about it. It was exciting and suspenseful, a definite page turner and much more tightly plotted than a lot of King's other books (which tend to meander a bit). That part I enjoyed.

The thing I -didn't- really enjoy was how horrific a lot of the descriptions were. The bad guy is really really BAD, I get that.. but the lead in scene (first few pages) just felt like a punch in the face. King is a gifted and experienced enough author that I am 100% sure he knew exactly what he was doing, but he really almost lost me right there. It was weeks before I could pick it up and finish it. :(

So did I like it? Yeeessss.... but not as much as a lot of his other books.

Annie (bionerdannie) I didn't know where else to put this link, so I'll put it here in case anyone else needs a nudge for choosing a book for week 51, book based on OR turned into a tv show.

I've decided to try to read The Warden by Anthony Trollope and maybe Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope which became a BBC series called the Barchester Chronicles.

Honestly, The Warden could've also fit into the 'books you were supposed to read in school and never did' :P Oh, Trollope, you so crazy.

I'm a lot older (though probably not much wiser) now... so I'll try to get through them this time ^^

Annie (bionerdannie) I'm not doing very well holding myself back to the book of the week. *sigh* I'm sure the librarians think I'm nuts. :P

Annie (bionerdannie) Well, this was a very fun challenge and I really wound up trying a number of books I never would have picked up otherwise.

I am really looking forward to 2016's challenge =)

I definitely found a bunch of authors and series I will follow closely from now on.

Well... once more, I didn't manage to get through The Warden OR Barchester Towers. I wound up reading Dry Bones for the TV show challenge week instead.

Trollope, Trollope, Trollope. He remains my Waterloo.
