So after The Bronze Horseman I went for Born of Fire. I liked it but I always feel like her books are very wash dry repeat. I have to get through them as fast as I can before the 17th when classes start again and my reading is consumed by case briefs. Lol

~KarenH~ | 11343 comments Hey Penney!

I've managed to finish 2 books already this month - Just Like Heaven which I thought was very cute and I will definitely be continuing the series sooner rather than later, and Master of the Night which was good and I'll probably continue that series at some point too, but not as enjoyable as the other book. I actually also read One Night with You, but I spaced out and read it right at the end of last month, so it doesn't count. I did enjoy it though!

I have at least one and maybe 2 or 3 more planned for this month, but that will depend on how the reading time goes for the rest of the month.

Thanks for the great picks!

message 160: by Mai (new)

Mai | 362 comments Hi Leigh,

I've read three books from your picks so far:

Chasing Perfect ★★★
This was a lovely contemporary, I wasn't completely in love with the book, but I really enjoyed it and plan on checking out more books by Susan Mallery.

A Cold Dark Place★★★½
Very thrilling romantic suspense novel - I'll maybe get the other parts of the series. I wasn't keen on the ending, that felt a bit forced, but the good bits were really good :)

Vicious Circle★★★
I liked pretty much everyone aside from the heroine in this book. The hero? Gosh, cute tattoed biker-werewolf. Grandma? So much fun. Seph, the heroine, annoyed me, though. I hope she will grow on me in book #2, because the overall idea and world was quite nice.

Can't wait to get to the rest of my picks, thanks so much again for them :)

Alexa (psreadthisbook) | 313 comments Hey Jojo! I finished Seduction and Snacks tonight. I was actually kind of let down. The books got so much hype that I couldn't wait to read it. But, I found the jokes too raunchy for my taste. I'm going to try the 2nd book though. I liked the plot a lot... I just felt it was over the top.

Hi Tammie!

I read The Trip from your list this month. A quick, short, spicy read. I wish it had been a little longer, and the characters given a little more back story. Thanks for the pick! I still want to get to Truly this month, if I can't, then very soon for sure :)

I finished my pick this month: How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper . It was such an adorable and sassy read with just the right amount of hotness! Ah, werewolves. Gotta love them and even more so when they are grumpy and sexy.

Since we've got a few days left in August I'm going to see if I can squeeze in a second pick of Abducting Abby (Dragon Lords of Valdier, #1) by S.E. Smith since it also looks hot, hot, hot and short enough for a few days :) And I'm making my way to sign up for September's too!

Then I read Sweet Filthy Boy, which was just ok for me...not a waste of time, but I'm in no big rush to continue the series.

Nancy H | 1111 comments Hi ~Karen H~,
I finished my pick for this month just in time! I finally got to The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston , which has been recommended to me multiple times and which I never got to before. Your pick was the one that motivated me to finally get to it and see what all the hype for it was about - lol!
I wish we had 'more month' left so I could get more of your good picks in, but I will read them anyway, even after this month is over.
Thanks again for great picks!
