The Queen (Chapter 5) (view spoiler)[Well, this puts a spin on things! Abby's rather drunk, especially to be treating Tia like that! How humiliating! And so intimidating! And so possessive of the crown! No need to be so obsessed. She's already got it.

The Queen (Chapter 6) (view spoiler)[It's kind of weird how she was in love with someone she never met, and now she's actually with him in real life. Massive coincidence. Wish we could have a novella from someone we didn't know was going home, just for a change that the main characters doesn't get everything. (hide spoiler)]

Then Queen (Chapter 8) (view spoiler)[So now she wants to go home :( And sad of Clarkson to just ignore her. Why do the Princes always tend to ignore the main characters, only to not mean to.

And what did I know, Clarkson does care for her. Bleh. Quite mean what he said though, that she just had to get over not being able to have children.

I found this quite selfish, though: 'I was never going to give Clarkson Schreave a reason to get upset like that again. His world looked like a storm. I was going to be its centre.' Quite self-absorbed. (hide spoiler)]

The Queen (Chapter 10) (view spoiler)[Of course he'd come back for her. I mean, he'd probably do it for anyone, and he did, for 5 other girls, but it's rather cliche. Suppose I'm just not in the zone right now for romance, because it's annoying me a little.

The Queen (Chapter 11) (view spoiler)[Well wasn't that sudden. After what, like 3 meetings together, and 1 kiss, and bam, 'I know she's the one for me.' I call bullcrap. But somehow it worked out, if not for the violence later on. (hide spoiler)]

The Queen Review: This was definitely interesting :) So glad I read it! I was really surprised when (view spoiler)[Amberly and Clarkson came across his parents fighting, (hide spoiler)] and (view spoiler)[the fact she couldn't have children. (hide spoiler)] But I loved how (view spoiler)[he was testing them from the start, and he'd always had his eye on Amberly, right from when she cut her hair for him :) (hide spoiler)] One thing I didn't like was (view spoiler)[the way I compared the whole time to America and Maxon, and how both of their first meetings were them being vulnerable (hide spoiler)] and how (view spoiler)[Queen Abby's always drunk, and mistreating the girls! (hide spoiler)] But I liked the way (view spoiler)[he said all of that stuff, and their first kiss was exceptional :) (hide spoiler)] And while it's sad, it's also good to see that all stuff isn't what it seems at the start, what with (view spoiler)[during America's Selection, we see Clarkson and Amberly not too loving. (hide spoiler)] I like the way Amberly knew she wanted the crown, as well as Clarkson, while that's what America thinks she doesn't want. One thing I didn't like too much was the fact that (view spoiler)[Amberly was obsessed with Clarkson growing up. That's slightly strange, but good for her, it all working out. (hide spoiler)] Well, that was a lot longer than I expected :p So much to think about in this one!

Alright so I got Happily Ever After: The Selection Novellas from the library, and I'm going to read the rest of them. In this, there's The Prince, The Guard, and The Queen, which I've already read. But then there's The Favorite, Scenes From Celeste, The Maid, After the One. I've just realised something though, and that's all of them after The Favorite are after The One, so I just spoiled for myself. Oh well. I'll only be reading The Favorite and then I'll wait to read the rest.

Review of The Favorite: I feel like reading this definitely spoilt a lot for The One. It's technically labelled #2.6, but I feel like I shouldn't have read this one just yet, what with (view spoiler)[America being hurt, Maxon suddenly being King, Marlee getting an apprentice, America being chosen (which wasn't that much of a spoiler) (hide spoiler)]. The whole (view spoiler)[casteless thing is awesome!!! Finally! Definitely won't be smooth though. Wonder where Amberly went too. (hide spoiler)] I enjoyed this one a lot :) Such a cute loving story.

I am here-read the opening couple of chapters, but caught up in something else. Not sure I really believe the whole love dilemma - we'll see how we go.

The Elite - Chapter 5- Is it bad that Aspen gets on my nerves? I mean, why is she even torn when Maxon is such a sweetheart? Bahhh- this book lol

30%-America's dilemma really isn't much of a dilemma if you look at it coldly. Rather convinced she's going to do something daft.

55%-that would be a shame now she's made her mind up if she can't get it.

60%-has she learned nothing from the past few weeks?

Finished The Elite. Some revelations I wasn't expecting, so you can see why we want to root for America (even though she is incredibly irritating) in book three. Maxon, on occasions, seems rather cruel but this might be as we're seeing things from America's viewpoint. More interested in what's going on behind the scenes than the Selection.

Up to ch6 of The One. Much more interesting. The girls are moving out of the competitive behaviour that was so irritating.

40%-up to ch15 of The One. Can't believe America is taking so many risks. Much more interesting, though the story behind the scenes does seem to be moving very slowly.

70%-jumped ahead with this. It's much more interesting when we're focusing on the people behind the story. Get the impression this event will be crucial for America.

20% (view spoiler)[ I really want America and Maxon to end up together! I love how they treat each other, but I wouldn't want Maxon to be meeting other girls and what not. I would get upset like America, but she does know the rules. I'm wondering how meeting the parents is going to go. So far Maxon seems to have taken a liking to America's dad. (hide spoiler)]

The elite 18% I really don't understand Maxon. Why is he being so weird now that he knows America likes him? Bah, it's really getting on my nerves.

America is risking a lot for being with Aspen especially after the incident with Marlee. It's sad to see how America feels with her now actually having competition. I can't believe Marlee was punished that way! I wonder what the eights do that makes it awful? I'm wondering who Maxon will eliminate next. (hide spoiler)]

The Heir-15%-should have seen that coming! Eadlyn is rather lacking in self-awareness, but there are signs that will change.

80% (view spoiler)[ Things have changed now that Kriss has declared her love for Maxon. I can't believe America caught Maxon with Celeste. I would want to leave after seeing that and after every thing he has told her. Gregory sounds like an awful ruler and how he created the castes and the reasoning for putting people in different castes. His daughter was put into a marriage just so he can have the pleasure of running the country. (hide spoiler)]

I laughed out loud and I'm wondering how she's going to become the people's favorite. Maxon and America are finally good again, they need to stop arguing I just want them to end up together.
