So he only let her stay because he wanted her steely determination and ability to stand up for herself. Yet he seemed so sure that he wanted her gone.

I'll be picking this book up today. Didn't think I'd be getting to it for another few days at least but it's an easy read and it'll count for a challenge I need to have done in the next few days so I'll put my other book down for a bit.

I like the way she stood up for Marlee, and the way she still has values and protects her maids and tried to stay civil in the Women's Room, but Celeste seriously deserved that. I like the way everyone secretly likes what she does, rebelling and stuff like that. Okay, time for bad. Well not bad, just reallllllllyyyyyyy annoying and aggravating and repetitive. She loves Maxon. She loves Aspen. Maxon's perfect. Aspen's home. I still feel like Aspen's just a player though. Oh God why can't she just choose Maxon! How does America not realise how much the other girls want Maxon? She's still just there for the lols and to see if 'oh yknow maybe I don't want the prince', while clearly that's all the other girls are fighting for. I think it's pretty unfair of Maxon, to be honest. To hold on to America like that while she's holding on to Maxon, and the other girls would only have eyes for him and he can't even give them a proper chance. He's using them as backups and that would really suck. (hide spoiler)]

Review: Okay, so I have multiple opinions about this book. Yes, I liked it, but did I like the characters? Don't read spoiler if you haven't read this book.
(view spoiler)[Maxon: Yes, adore him as per usual. He's probably my dream book boyfriend, I just love him so much.
America: No, she can go die. Way too selfish and pathetic and petty and just so self-centered and bleh.
Aspen: Still feel like he's not serious about America.
Celeste: Typical, but glad she didn't annoy me as much in this book
Kriss: I really like her
King Clarkson: Can't believe he beats Maxon! That's disgusting! Don't want to think what Queen Amberly's going through!
Marlee: I'm kind of glad she was able to finally be open about her relationship. Kind of similar with Aspen and America in a way. I can't believe that straight after they got caught, Aspen wanted to meet America. How foolish! (hide spoiler)]
Don't really have enough time/space/energy/emotion to rage about America right now, but just know that I really do not like her. Yes, I like her backbone and her pride, but I don't like her underlying distrust. So frustrating. I'm glad I finally got around to this book, and it was a quick read. Can't wait to read the rest of the series, although no doubt America will annoy me some more. I'll just have to bear it.
