Wendy's Wanderings | 182 comments I wanted to see if there was any interest in doing a book read for Feb/March? We would read a book that was written by a PA Author or a book where the setting is in PA. People can list a book they are interested in. Then we can take the list books and do a poll to vote on the book to read. If you are having trouble finding an author or book you like you can go to my profile https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... and look at my shelf for Pennsylvania or also look here under the previous discussion authors in PA https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... or books about PA https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... There are many more that are not listed in these areas. The genre is not important.

Melki | 2 comments Many of the books on my Pennsylvania list - https://www.goodreads.com/list/user_v... - are out of print and it would be hard for the group members to get copies. Straight Man by Richard Russo would be a possibility. While Russo is not from PA, the book is set in Pennsylvania's rust belt. Another "rust belt" classic would be American Rust by Philipp Meyer. I read The Son by this author last summer and was quite impressed by it.

Wendy's Wanderings | 182 comments Straight Man looks like it would be great. I'm definitely interested in reading that. Another book I'm interested in reading soon is Digging Dusky Diamonds.

Katie (kaitee232) More than petticoats: Remarkable Pennsylvanian women sounds very interesting. If we don't do that as our book, do you know where I can get it? This is a really cool group, and I'm really excited to be reading my first book as part of it! Thanks!

More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Pennsylvania Women also seems like it would be pretty intersting. Katie you can get through Amazon.

Bruce Sarte (brucesarte) | 4 comments Hello, I'd love to suggest one of my books. I live in Pennsylvania and have two novels that are set in PA.

Feel free to check them out and I'd be happy to participate in a live chat session regarding the books, as well.

Philadelphia Story: A Lance Carter Detective Novel

or

The Insider's Story: A Lance Carter Detective Novel #2
