Wow what a fantastic book. This was not the first book that I read being penned by Bruce A. Sarte, but I have to tell you it is my favorite by far! One thing Bruce does well is create vivid characters that are both easy to like and interesting. Furthermore they are vulnerable but realistic meaning they have flaws to help offset some of their strengths which I believe makes them more believable. I sure hope this becomes a series as I believe many other stories can be written about our hero, Lance ...more

Philadelphia Story is the first book in the Lance Carter detective series. The book starts out with action and never lets up. Lance starts chasing down the baddies to save a little girl -- and then the story catapults into the present where a case is dropped on his desk that seems like a run of the mill find a deadbeat dad case.

The case leads him into the underworld of the Philadelphia mafia and through descriptive action, the author builds a story that keeps you on the edge of the seat from str

An outstanding begining for Lance Carter. The action begins immediately and never lets up. Lance is the kind of character you would enjoy reading more about. I'm looking forward to reading the second Lance Carter novel

So bad it's not worth writing about. After enduring a chaotic prologue, Chapter One could be expected to move the story forward, right? Not so much.

After the third woman is described in a purely physical way without the author seriously telling a story, this reader decided that this is not a book for me.

Worth exactly what I paid for the kindle edition of the book: $0.

Already an accomplished songwriter with two gold records to his credit, Bruce lives just outside of Philadelphia with his family. In addition to writing, he enjoys baseball, playing guitar, reading, church, cooking and being a dad.

Bruce grew up at the Jersey Shore (the picture is at Point Pleasant Beach, where Sands of Time is set) and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, NJ whe
