SOLVED. YA book about kids in a reality tv show. [s]

All I remember is that this book was about kids in a reality tv show. I think one of the kids in the show got close to the director or something? I can't really remember anything.. hope you guys can help. I thought the title maybe was 'the box' or 'black box' but I can't find the book when I search for titles... Do you guys have an idea? :)

Edit: I think the house they were in was on some sort of dock or pier?

Do you mean something like "The [Black] Box" could be the title in Dutch, so the English title could be quite different?

A long shot, but could it be a Norwegian book by Aleksander Melli? There is a Dutch translation called Het boek van Max Berg.

Yes I think that could have been the Dutch title. I don't think the book is on that list...

I totally forgot about this! I just thought of a solution: I signed in to my library account and found the book. I read it in 2008.
