LOL It drives me nuts when I am having trouble deciding which book to begin next.
I usually take out the top 10 books that I want to begin next.
Re-read the synopsis on the back to eliminate a few. Look at reviews/ratings on Goodreads to eliminate a few more.
I then read the first chapter of each book to eliminate more...It is a long process. It would be so much easier to just go on this tread, and let other people help me out! LOL

Surrender to Me-Sophie Jordan- This is the only book of hers that I have left. I am hesistant to read it b/c the main character was a jerk in the previous book, and it is the only book of SJ that I have left to read.
Don't Bargain with the Devil- Sabrina Jeffries-Love the author and series, but the plot doesn't sound as interesting as her previous books.
Private Arrangements- Sherry Thomas-Never read this author, but I've heard she is good. I always have trouble forcing myself to try a new author. LOL
Raven- Allison Van Diepen-Love vamps, but I have never tried this author either...
Any help would be appreciated! LOL :)
I'm going to rule out City of Glass for you. Definitely read it when you are in the mood for it. I just finished it two days ago and I wasn't really in the mood for it, but it was due back at the library and my kids read it first so I kind of had to read it when I did. I like it as much as the first two, but my feeling rushed and forced into it kind of tainted it for me.
Okay, here's a question to eliminate another one. Do you need your romance to be uplifting/cheerful? Private Arrangements was excellent, but it's definitely not light and cheerful. It's good mostly because the characters are so realistic and honest and flawed. It's not a typical HR; she's got a more modern style. Kind of like watching Atonement except there's an HEA and the plot's different, LOL.

"The Host" doesn't interest me personally, but my husband read it, and said that it was strange but REALLY good...

The Host is a good book ,but I'll warn you it is a little slow but picks up around the 7th chapter.

I wasn't aware of how big it is. My husband listened to the audiobook, instead of reading the book itself. The audiobook is supposed to be good...

It's better when you get the audiobook from the library, load it onto your computer, and that way you can listen to it on your MP3 player. Thats what my hubby always does.

You can download audiobooks on certain sites, and it is cheaper than buying them in store...But I don't know the sites off the top of my head. My husband is the audiobook junkie, I'll ask him when he gets home! :)
Somebody please help me choose a few from this list! lol I cannot decide. I basically have 3 different categories here which I will simply state as serious, horror, and humor. So if you want to choose one of each, that is fine (but you don't have to). :DSerious Business o_o

Are you talking about this Lullaby? For me, it was okay. I think Invisible Monsters and Choke just spoiled everything else for me.
I am also interested in The Strain. So if you do read it, will you let me know how it is? :)

Thanks! Well I have seen the movie for Let the Right One In and I didn't even know at the time that it was from a book. The movie was very good though. If you don't mind subtitles I definitely recommend it! Still, I am worried about it messing with my head while I read the book.Guess I will choose between the 2 humor choices when I get to the store, lol. I will just have to remind myself I can always come back later.

Well I am back from the bookstore. It was so hard. I was distracted right away by a bargain priced aisle where they had classics like Jane Austen novels, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, The Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes Vol.1 and 2, etc. Sherlock Holmes especially distracted me. But I made myself concentrate and go looking for the novels I came there to get.They didn't have The Thirteenth Tale or Let the Right One In. lol So instead I got The Shadow of the Wind and Brimstone. I realize that last one wasn't even on the list, but that's because it's part of a series that I am behind in and I had forgotten about it. I didn't even get a third one. I decided to get out of there while I still could before I went into a book frenzy. Once I've calmed down I am going to go to the thrift store, that way I can buy a bunch of books and not even feel guilty about it. lol

ok I have no idea where to ask this so here looks good. I have been browsing the Harlequin romance books and some have numbers at the end like 902 or 1600. I know that some are series but do u have to read them in order? and how do u figure out the reading order. thanks ladies
I would have to say that depends, Lauren. Certainly you don't have to read the entire Harlequin series in order. That would be a nightmare.:-) There are smaller groups of books within the Harlequin brand that are series. Some are written by a single author and others are written by multiple authors. In some cases it's just a theme series, such as the Harlequin SuperRomance series 9 Months later. All the stories involve a pregnancy. In other cases, it can be a series of books that have inter-connected characters and plots just like any other romance series. There are two groups here on GR that you might find helpful in determining if the books are series:

I also use fictiondb.com all the time. They aren't 100% accurate, but they are a great resource that is pretty good about having all the books that are part of a series listed in order.
Thanks so much Julie. i was actually looking at the harlequin web site i was getting so over whelmed by it. i never really noticed how many there were. i had a couple of the Blaze ones that I got but that was years ago.
Well I'm stuck because I can't decide what I'm in the mood for. All I know is I want to read, I prefer something some what short but if the story is intriguing I can read something longer. Here is what I have (but you can recommend anything you think would be a attention catching book):

Lasher- Anne Rice
Treasure Island
When You Believe- Jessica Inclan
I think Inclan's books are more spiritual. I'm not sure whether that's your cuppa or not, but that might affect your decision. Also, Treasure Island is not worth reading, LOL.Out of that list, Phantom of the Opera sounds the best. If it's anything like the film or play -and let's hope it is- it's well worth reading. :) (Unless you don't care for romance at all, LOL.)

I see you have read Invisible Monsters (AWESOME BOOK) so you're familiar with how he writes. In my opinion, Lullaby is good but it's not as good as Invisible Monsters or Choke. But since you already have it and aren't buying it or anything, I'd say check it out. Chuck Palahniuk fans all differ on their favorite books, so you might like it more than I did. :)

I haven't read them, but I would go with Weaveworld or Interview with the Vampire. I know Interview with the Vampire was one of my hubby's favs! Weaveworld sounds really interesting...! :)

Np, Michelle. :) BonFire, sine you didn't finish Hitchhiker, I would say Weaveworld or An Instance of the Fingerpost sound the most interesting, particularly if you like meatier reads or in the case of Weaveworld maybe I should say a classic read. I always thought Anne Rice droned on too much, LOL. (And that's coming from a PNR fan.)
The only other book I have read by Anne Rice is The Mummy. I enjoyed it but I did have to skip through some pages because she doesn't know when to quit with the details, lol. It's looking like Weaveworld should be next, then. Like Hitchhiker, I began reading it years ago, but had to stop due to real life distractions. Don't you hate it when that happens? With Hitchhiker, I just needed a break. lol
I've read Interview With the Vampire and it wasn't my favorites. But I think in truth I'm just never going to be a huge Anne Rice fan. It was an interesting read though.Personally I'd go with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I saw the movie, haven't read the book, and it was pretty good. It just seemed so interesting and quirky that it made me want to read the books.

I agree with Hitchhiker's, I need to read the last book. That's it. But I just can't, I read the others back to back, and now I need a break. They are amazing books but they can be an overload.
Michelle, that's exactly how I felt. Although I was enjoying the series, I needed a breather and I stepped away. But now I've waited so long I will probably have to start over if I want to have a good idea of what is going on.

I'd go with 'Blood Sins' mainly though because I'm more of a mystery person so that one just sounds the most appealing. And with your review of 'Blue Bloods' I would personally not be so inclined to start 'Masquerade' right away.
Personally, I think you should put a book or two between the Blue Bloods series. I'd go with City of Glass if you're still in the mood for YA.

I say Bloodsucking Fiends and then You Suck. Must be read in that order. You Suck, literally starts right where the first one ends. They are fast and funny reads! Christopher Moore is one of my absolute favorite authors!
I vote for Stray or Shadow Kiss. I've heard that Ink Exchange reads a lot like a filler between novels so I would wait until you have the third. I think the books in the Mead and Vincent series are available though.
Okay thanks ladies! But I do HAVE to read Strange Brew...I've been waiting for that to come out forever it seems! I'm thinking I'm going to return This Immortal and Beggars in Spain (I may get Beggars again another time). So I need to see which of the FIVE you two named I'll be reading first. lol I think I need a good FUNNY book so maybe I'll start with Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck...then to Shadow Kiss?? hmmm
