I'm halfway through The Night Circus. I realise I'm a but late to the party, but I am loving the rampant imagination woven through these pages.
Angie wrote: "Have just finished Diary of a Bookseller. Interesting to get a tiny look inside the book trade and the effect that Amazon has/has had on retailers. Some laugh out loud moments too with observations..."Loved that book! Have you packed your bags for a trip there yet? It's now on my list of places to visit. I wonder if NZ could replicate it somewhere?
The Magic Lamp: Dreams of Our Age by Ben OkriTotally picked this up just because of the cover, mixture of short stories so this should be interesting! It has paintings all through to go with them.
About to start
After Nightfall by A.J. Banner after finishing

Reading Every Five Minutes by Bronwyn Elsmore(Whakawhetai koe, Bronwyn) Enjoying it so far. It reads somewhat like a book of short stories as it is set in 5 minute intervals.
My Father's Moon by Elizabeth JolleyI think this is probably going to be too old for me to enjoy, but I'll finish it anyway.

I have one of Elizabeth Jolley's novels but haven't read it yet cos I think its the second one in a trilogy. Maybe it' called Cabin Fever or somthing.

For Magnus Chase: Hotel Valhalla, Guide to the Norse Worlds by Rick RiordanI'm wanting to get into a lot of the Rick Roirdan books and just searched up what was available at the library and thought I'd grab this before I start on all the different series.
The F Word by Lizzie Marvelly. Reading it to see what makes this young woman tick, being the cynic I am to see if anything has changed in the last 30 years, and because I have daughters in their 20s. Answers so far - she very angry, nothing changed.
The Hidden Oracle by Rick RiordanI've been saying how I want to read more of his work because I feel like I really missed out not reading more of Percy Jackson.
The Fault in Our Stars by John GreenI haven't seen the movie and never read a John Green book before, every hypes his stuff up so I finally got around to reading one.
I started listening to
I'm also reading
but I'm realising that thrillers are not really for me! However this was recommended to me by my coworker and she lent it to me so I have to finish it ;) And because I usually have three books on my reading list (paper, e-book, audiobook) I'm also reading
- I'm considering DNF-ing as there is not enough science and little bit too much crazy.
Despicable Deadpool, Vol. 1: Deadpool Kills Cable by Gerry DugganAlso
Deadpool: World's Greatest, Volume 5: Civil War II by Gerry DugganI've been a big fan of Deadpool since I was younger and tried to get into reading more comics, I never did so this is me trying and starting :)

Oh I'll have to recommend that Deadpool comic to my partner. He's not a big reader but he' been reading a lot recently - mostly Old Man Logan comics (spinoff of Wolverine I'm told) and really likes them.

A friend recommended this. I think it’s one of those true stories that are stranger than fiction. Make an amazing movie
The Weight of Ink
and The Incredible Journey
. The latter is part of a reading challenge. This one to read something from your childhood
Halfway intoA Map of Days
Racing to finish it before my son finishes his current read and tries to pinch this :-)

Am I Ugly by Michelle Elman. Won’t lie, I picked this up from the library purely because the cover was shiny. 😁

I've just started Out Of Time, an indie time-travel book by DE McLean. It's fun and imaginative, set in Thames (Coromandel) and the clothing descriptions are marvelous.
Vanilla by Billy MerrellMy first LGBTQIA+ book! It's kind of in poem/prose and so far I'm liking the style of it.
The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. YeeI've never read anything on Chinese Mythology so that is exciting!
The writing is a bit cringy though, which might end up being it's let down.
Purgatory I know this was a group read a while ago and I think that’s why I had it on my TBR list. Enjoying it so far

I agree. I was put off by the title, but the story is engrossing
The Testament of Loki by Joanne HarrisI read the first one awhile back, like it enough to notice there was a second when scouring the library shelves, as well as another book she has written.

Purgatory is an excellent read. Beautiful writing.
The Source by James A. MichenerGiven to me by a lady at work, one of her favorites.
I've never read a book like this, so I have no idea if I'm going to like it or not. It's massive but seems heavy on the information so feel like this is going to be a slow read.
Grayson, Volume 1: Agents of SpyralI'm a pretty big Nightwing fan and was talking to my mate from work and he suggested I start here :)
very excited to see what it's like!
I'd Rather Be Famous by Pete Johnsonrandom book that was handed to me at some point, it'll be really dated now as it was originally published 1990's!
