~Melissa~ | 2097 comments I finished my first pick Paris A to Z (Coda Books, #5) by Marie Sexton - Breann >>thanks for the pick. I had this on audible. Not sure if it was because it was an audiobook but kept feeling like there was a lot of whining going on ~might have felt different if I read it. That being said I still enjoyed it and was glad that characters were able to get closure and move on. Quite possibly Matt and Cole were the funniest. 3.5♥

Still working on my second pick Truth (Consequences, #2) by Aleatha Romig - still a ton of WTH moments just like book 1 of series

Larissa Brown (larissabrown) | 25 comments I just read my second book from my picks: Where You Are. It was a sweet and tender love story, very well written. I guess I needed something bolder at the moment, because this was really well done, but I got captivated by Consequences instead. LOL.

Here's my review of Where You Are.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Hadley wrote: "No, this is the first of her books I've read, but will definitely be reading more."

I have to second the nods to One Night with Sole Regret, but with a provision. I've actually read both series, and I have to say that I enjoy the plots in the Sole Regret books just a little bit better than the Sinners series, because it seems to me that she's taken her time with the Sole Regret characters and thought out how she wants them to act and progress more. However, the Sole Regret books are a serial series, meaning that she writes one 24 hour period with the band member then moves on to the next band mate. Once she gets through all 5 band mates, she then goes back to the first band mate and writes about a second 24 hour period with them, cycling through them all over again. I really hate that about the series! I really want all the story about my favorite SR characters all at once! However, if you can overcome that minor flaw, they are quite good!

If starting Sole Regret, you need to read the story Share Me first! It sets the stage for events that happen in the first five stories of the series. Share Me can be found as a stand alone novella or in the anthologies One Night with Sole Regret Anthology Vol.2: Share Me, Touch Me, Tie Me and A Very Naughty Xmas.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments @Jojo: I listened to A Night Like This and gave it ★★★★½. i enjoyed it so much I moved right into book 3. Thank you for a great pick.

A Night Like This (Smythe-Smith Quartet, #2) by Julia Quinn

message 369: by Amie (new)

Amie (alm0824) | 260 comments I finished my first pick Yours to Keep. Thank you Becky! I don't know why I always push back this series, but I really needed a "Y" for some challenges so I finally picked it up. I loved it! It was a nice quick sweet read. I ended up reading it in one day.

Yours to Keep (Kowalski Family, #3) by Shannon Stacey

Nadine Bookaholic (nadinesobsessedwithbooks) | 1139 comments Larissa - The Sweetest Thing finished 2/4 gave it 5* and downloaded the next book in the series :)

message 371: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments finished my first MnG pick yesterday - Axel (Corps Security, #1) by Harper Sloan . Thanks Tina W for the rec!

It was decent. Reminded me a lot of Kristen Ashley, just a lot less emotionally engaging. The heroine was a piece of work. There were times I wanted to slap her, which is bad considering she was a victim of an abusive relationship.... Still, her reactions to certain situations just didn't seem believable or anywhere close to mature. Anyhoo, it was still freaking hawt, so totally TBR'd the next book. :)

message 375: by Emma (new)

Emma (boredblind) | 59 comments Finished my first pick Wicked Games (Games, #1) by Jessica Clare . Thanks for the pick beppy! It was a quick, cute read. I'm glad I had it in my list for this challenge, because it's one I've had for awhile and just kept putting off. I actually finished it the day before yesterday, but have been too swamped to update anything ... or even start another :(

Of course work got ridiculously busy when the 1st came around, so I've been deprived of reading time for the last week. I don't care how tired I am when I make it home tonight, I will be starting my second pick tonight The Edge of Always (The Edge of Never, #2) by J.A. Redmerski !

message 376: by Elizabeth (new)

message 381: by Desperado (last edited Feb 06, 2014 12:40PM) (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments I finished Steal the Light (Thieves, #1) by Lexi Blake (Shelly's pick for me)
I gave it 3 ★'s. I enjoyed the UF part about StL but the romance part (which took up way too many pages IMO) was agonizing. The love between the heroine & the two MC's was brimming with angst and I did NOT enjoy it. Pick one or pick the other (or hell, pick BOTH!) but pick and STFU about it already! I put the 2nd book on my TBR but this emo shit has got to go because not only is it extremely boring, but these men are making Zoey look and act like a lovesick fool.

Also finished Surrender to the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James, #3) by Lorraine Heath (Lauren's pick for me)
I gave it 4 ★'s. I really liked this one. Although I started with #3 in the series (a friend rec'd it to me when I was looking for HR's featuring non-virgin/courtesan heroines) I wasn't lost at all, thanks to Heath doing an exceptional job of recapping previous events. The hero was a bit of a dick in the beginning but the heroine was so strong and independent that it made my heart sing with joy. I also really liked that the hero was disabled. And the epilogue just made STTD even more amazing.

message 400: by Pam (last edited Feb 08, 2014 08:32PM) (new)

Pam | 1048 comments Mandy & Becky-
Finished my first two reads this week:
Alanna The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness, #1) by Tamora Pierce which is a tween book by Tamora Pierce. I liked it…a little magic and a girl who disguises herself as a boy to be a knight.

River Road by Jayne Ann Krentz which is typical Jayne Ann Krentz but I like Jayne Ann Krentz.

I'm always happy to get things off the TBR mountain but in reading the discussion above I just added SIX more books (sigh). More for Meet & Greet 3!
