Emma (boredblind) | 59 comments Finished book five (:
Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire
Thanks for the pick Becca, I really enjoyed it! I'll have to read the next one sometime soon because I'd like to get the other side of the story.

message 502: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca16) | 293 comments I need to read that one soon too!

message 503: by Grace (new)

Grace | 1732 comments Anayha- Just finished The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter and enjoyed it. I really want to read some of the other books now, especially Reyes,

MountainKat | 31688 comments I finished up picks 8 and 9 this week! Thanks Turtlecollector for pushing me back into the In Death series with Holiday in Death. I love Roarke! And thanks Angi for picking Double Full - gorgeous cover and good books too!

I have at least three more set up to read in March, but I hope to get to the others too!

Reyes book was awesome :) - I think that may have been the first one I read of this series - the cover looked good at the library, lol

message 506: by Aarati (new)

Aarati | 148 comments Penney, finished The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley . It was a re-read for me. And this time too I loved this book. Ian is no doubt an eccentric, but that just makes him all the more adorable and sexy.

message 507: by Melissa (last edited Mar 02, 2014 08:03AM) (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Finished 3 more books since my last post bringing me up to 7 out of 17 completed.

I read Trick of the Light and could only give it 3 stars. This is one of my favorite authors, but this book was so chaotic and all over the place, I couldn't enjoy it more. The main character had WAY too much inner dialogue running off in weird directions, but the ending and plot twist were so cool that all was forgiven in the end. ;) Anayha, thanks for the recommendation!

I also read Corbin's Fancy in one afternoon. I just love Linda Lael Miller's books. They are always a sweet escape for me and always get 5 stars. Thanks for the push, Angi!

And then there was On Dublin Street...I am probably in the minority, but it was just okay for me. I just couldn't like either of the main characters for some reason. It took me forever to read this, too, because whenever I put it down, I just never felt like picking it up again. When I was reading it, it kept my interest, but just wasn't that great to me. So 2 stars and just like with A Discovery of Witches, I now know what everyone is talking about and my curiosity is satisfied. Thanks, Breann, for the push to get it off my tbr!

Off to start a "sure thing" read so I can crank up my reading speed...

message 508: by Hadley (new)

Hadley | 68 comments Have finished another 5 books...
Taking Shots was great...thanks Chris. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.
Covet I always love J.R.Ward's books, although this one was not as compelling at BDB...still enjoyed it. Thanks Joyce.
Easy what a lovely feel good story. Thanks Dragana
The Darkest Hour I battled to get through this one. Not what I expected from this Author. Thanks anyway Penney, had to get it off my tbr shelf. Will probably still carry on with the series eventually.
Maybe Baby this was also a nice story, but did go on for a bit long. Thanks Juliet.

message 509: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 1010 comments Shelby I read Wild Card this weekend. It's been on my TBR for a while and I'm really glad you got me around to reading it. I gave the book 4 stars and the only reason it didn't get 5 was because I felt that the heroine Sabella forgave everyone far too easily for not telling her her husband was really alive. I would have held a grudge for a lot longer.

message 510: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Jane (PS) I got to re-read Crazy Cool (Steele Street, #2) by Tara Janzen in my effort to read the books in order and enjoyed it. Thanks for the rec. That is my 4th book from the list.

message 511: by Isha (new)

Isha | 500 comments I never got the chance to update what I've finished reading last month over here but these are the ones I managed to get to so far

Sallie(shuga) Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day - I thought it was just ok, didn't really understand what all the hype was about though.

Larissa Gabriel's Redemption (Gabriel's Inferno, #3) by Sylvain Reynard - I don't think there was anything I liked about this book and absolutely hated the way it ended.

Karla Smooth Talking Stranger (Travises, #3) by Lisa Kleypas - my favourite read of last month. I loved this one and absolutely adored the characters. I can't wait till the next one comes out.

Jane Seduction in Death (In Death, #13) by J.D. Robb - This was another great read from the in death series

Anayha Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward I really enjoyed this one, I can't believe I waited so long to start it.

message 512: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 295 comments Finished 2 more (5/17 - I think that means that technically I have completed the challenge)

Lock and Key was very good. Thank you for the push Sassafrass.

I absolutely loved Slammed! Thank you Angi - and all of the others who also recommended this one. Don't know why I waited so long.

message 513: by Emma (new)

Emma (boredblind) | 59 comments Finished Keep Holding On by Susane Colasanti
Thanks for the pick Mandy S!
This turned out to be just an ok read for me. I thought I was going to love it, but it just didn't pull emotion out of me like I thought it would. Still a good read though.

message 514: by Aarati (new)

Aarati | 148 comments Hi Amiee, I finished your pick Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling, #7) by Nalini Singh and I absolutely loved it. Though the ending was a bit anti-climactic and highly emotional. Thanks for the pick.

message 515: by UnusualChild{beppy} (last edited Mar 05, 2014 11:08AM) (new)

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments so, i have actually made some progress with this. yay, me! lol.

The Frog Prince - i loved this. socially awkward h who still has self confidence? I'm in. thanks, victoria

One Small Thing - i really liked this one, too. I liked that there was never any doubt that rue was going to take his child. thanks, runell

Grave Sight - i'm still not sure what the final verdict is on this one, but I really enjoyed it. I think it might be one that i come to think about more and more after I've had some processing time. I liked the relationship between harper and tolliver. thanks, becca.

Go Fetch! - I enjoyed this one as well. I liked that connall respected miki and liked her sarcasm and brain. thanks, elizabeth

The Damsel in This Dress - this one was bleh for me. If the rest of the book had been as funny as the first couple of chapters, I would have enjoyed it much more. thanks, mandy s

I've just started Flirting With Danger and I'm enjoying it so far. Up next is Faro's Daughter and then Clear Water, so I'm plugging onward.

~Melissa~ | 2097 comments Finished up 2 more - currently at 10/17

Nikita - finished up Archangel's Legion (Guild Hunter, #6) by Nalini Singh - it was nice to have a book revolve around Elena and Raphael. 4♥

Thanks for the picks you guys!!

Ty | 1943 comments Ladies (and gents?) ~~

Mod hat on for a bit.

I love to discuss books like everyone else! Certain reactions will always make me curious enough to take a peak at the book and see if it has a place on my TBR. But! Please remember to put spoiler tags on if you're discussing a key plot element not disclosed in the general description of the book. If you don't know how, click on the "(some html is ok)" link on the upper right corner of the comment box. It includes some helpful tips for fantastic posting. And remember - some people consider that even knowing that a book ends in a cliffhanger is a spoiler. :)

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Lauren - I finished One Wrong Step although I only gave it 3 stars it was good I just didn't enjoy it as much as the previous book. The hero was in the first book and I didn't like him much then and he didn't really improve for me in this one either.

Melissa | 1245 comments Finished up Days of Blood & Starlight yesterday...so awesome...I can't wait for book 3 out next month! Thanks for the pick ~Melissa~!

Half way through Kiss of Crimson and really liking it so far. I read the first book in the series for the first meet and greet challenge and couldn't help but wonder why I waited so long to start this series. I was happy to see book 2 made the recommended list this time around (thanks, Grace!) Definitely putting book 3 on my picking shelf for round 3!

Nadine Bookaholic (nadinesobsessedwithbooks) | 1139 comments Turtle collector - Her Dakota Man finished 3/6 I give this 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it but I wish it was longer and had more details.
Thank you for the pick.

message 529: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I finished a couple more of my books...Lumberjack in Love, which I thought was short, sweet, and a lot of fun, and Defiant, which I loved as much as (if not even more than) the first two books in the series. Thanks Mandy S and Elizabeth for the picks - they're about as opposite as two books can be, and yet I really enjoyed them both!

message 530: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca16) | 293 comments I just finished the elite and it's a 5* !!!!!!! Loved it sooooo much!!!!! It's hard for me to get into any of my other picks after that...I'm a really slow reader normally and I got through that book way too fast!!!! Wahhhh!!! I want more!!!

message 531: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 1010 comments I finished Striking Distance and gave it 3 stars. It didn't hold my attention as much as the other books but still better than a lot of other reads. Thanks Ezinwanyi

message 532: by Shelby (new)

☑ Shelley - Intertwined (2/15) ★★★★½

message 533: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31688 comments Hi Jane, I have a confession to make... I stupidly put the second book in a series on my list and picked it from your recommendations. Not smart since I hadn't read the first in a series and reading series books out of order gives me hives! Anyway, I did read the first one in the series, Giving Chase by Lauren Dane. I hope I can get to your pick, Taking Chase, too but I might not make it. I wanted to let you know since I wouldn't have read #1 if you hadn't picked #2 - so even though it wasn't your pick, I read it because of this challenge! So thanks for the push to get to this series, even though I haven't yet read the one you picked... =)

Just finished Easy. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO READ THIS BOOK? Wow. Solid 4 1/2 stars.

message 536: by Karla (new)

Karla Grace, finished The Pregnancy Test by Erin McCarthy March 4. I didn't really like it. It had too many sex scenes and not a lot of substance for my taste. But, it's another book off of my long TBR list, so thanks for the suggestion.

No probs Kat - it is in the rules that if a later book in a series is picked but you haven't read the earlier on, you are fine to swap! Don't worry about getting to book 2 unless you have nothing else to read (unlikely) ;)

It could have been really good, if the author had built a relationship between the characters before they jumped into bed with each other.

Nadine Bookaholic (nadinesobsessedwithbooks) | 1139 comments Just finished my 13th book - The Bet thank you Karla I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't help but laugh through most of it, the way they all acted like they were still little kids was hysterical. And Grandma Nadine had to be the best grandma going!

And my 14th book - Seducing Cinderella ~Melissa~ I enjoyed it so much I added the next books in the series to my TBR shelf.

Shelby (stang_lee) | 1970 comments Kristi just wanted to say thank you so much for finally getting me to read Storm Front! I don't know what my problem was the first time around, but I absolutely loved it this time around! Here's my review if you're interested. :)

message 546: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Gea - I finally got around to reading Kaleidoscope - I gave this 5 stars - I love Kristen Ashley books and get totally immersed into that world when I'm reading it. That said although the books are still outstanding I am finding that I miss the wordy, rambling style that KA used before she had a publisher, it used to make me feel as though I could really see what was happening and feel what her characters did. The books are still great to read and are probably more polished and sharper reads but there are plenty of books like that around and now there's nothing to make them stand out like they used to.
