This was a sweet, fun read. Thanks for the pick! I've had it for awhile, I guess I just needed a push to finally read it.

Oh I believe you. I took me about 10-14 days to finish that book. then i tried book 2 on audio. After that, i knew Rachel Morgan series wasn't for me

I've heard that if you can stick out the first few books, the series is great. I read a short story (book 0.5) from the series and seriously disliked it - so I'll be missing out of that series as well....

I read Night of Cake & Puppets last night and it was great! SO fun to be in Zuzana's head. It is a magical little slice of sweetness and makes me ache for book 3 all the more. This author has such a way with words that they are at once both so poetic and descriptive, dreamy and rich. I am on the hunt for the two books in her other series while I impatiently wait for the world to revolve enough times for the release date of Dreams of Gods & Monsters to get here.

Glad you liked it!!

Thanks Anayha and MountainKat!

I think I'm around 9 or 10 reads and done for this round. I will add the ones I didn't get to back to my M&G shelf :)

Glad you enjoyed Seducing Cinderella - for me the H had a couple stupid moments but overall was a good read. I'm going to check out book 2 also :)

I felt the same way about this book. It was one that I bought so I felt obligated to finish it. If I would have borrowed it, I think I would have put it down and not come back to it.

I have been struggling to keep reading Rock Chick and after many days and not even getting to page 100, I decided to stop reading and start it a different time when I'm more in the mood for this type of book.
My count for the challenge is at 10 read. I'm hoping I will get to a few more before the end of the month!

These are 2 of my favourite authors and these books did not disappoint - I loved them both. Can't wait to get around to the next in the Ghost Walker series but I think it's the last one written so that will be disappointing.

Congrats!

That was #13. Started #14, How to Run with a Naked Werewolf, this morning and will start #15, Once in a Lifetime, tonight. I did end up putting the last two books back on my options shelf, but I am going to try not to pick them for the next round. Hopefully then I can still get to them this time! (If other challenges cooperate!)

Congrats AndaM!

(#9) Jane(PS)- The Undead Pool, 4.5 Stars!
Well I'm one of those die hard fans, but I can see why people don't get past book 1. It's a slow start and it took me a couple of tries, but I'm completely hooked now. The audiobooks really help, I think. There's only one more book and I'll be sad to see it end.
(#10) Megan L-Archangel's Blade, 4 Stars!
I've been looking forward to Dmitri's book. I do like the bad boys. Love this series! I like Elena and Raphael, but I'm most looking forward to other character's books.
(#11) Runell-Grave Secret, 4 Stars!
It took me a little while to get back into this because I waited so long between books. But once I got my bearings I was hooked again. I need to read the next one soon!
(#12) Emma- Hopeless, 3 Stars!
I'm pretty sure that I'm missing some kind of emotional receptor. I didn't cry. I like Collen Hoover, but this didn't pack the punch for me that it did for the 58k other people who gave it 5 Stars, lol.
(#13) Larissa- Across the Universe, 3 Stars!
It was pretty predictable and very much a YA book. Still, I'll probably read the next one at some point. I know this is a YA book, but I have to say, Elder constantly saying fraxing drove me nuts. For the next one I'll probably skip the audiobook.
(#14) Sarah- A Rogue by Any Other Name, 4 Stars!
I'm a fan of Sarah MacLean! This was a little more serious than I'm used to from her. I still really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one.
(#15) Victoria- The Lion's Lady, 5 Stars!
Julie Garwood does it again. I loved this book. The constant confusion between the 2 characters should have drove me crazy, but instead I thought it was hilarious.
Thank you for all the great recommendations!!

Hmm, confusing is not very encouraging. I've been meaning to start this book, too.

."
LOL - well a couple of others say this series is awesome and they had trouble with book 2 also but then it gets lots better. So I'm going to stick with it. Just be prepared for some wth moments as you go along. This book does set up for all sorts of possibilities in the books to come.

larissa Faro's Daughter 4 stars not my favourite heyer, but i enjoyed watching max struggle against everything he thought he knew about deborah and fall in love.
karenh Clear Water 5 stars i liked the growth in both patrick and whiskey. i absolutely loved that whiskey accepted and worked with patrick's condition.
sarah Sacrificial Magic 5 stars chess had to work through some things, but i liked the resolution between her and terrible. i liked how terrible accepts chess for who she is.
shan Visions of Heat 4 stars i liked how, even though he was always the proverbial lone wolf, he immediately accepted that faith was his mate. i liked the immediate trust between the two of them.
nichole Bloodfever 5 stars i was so relieved that i liked mac this time around. i liked the progression of the story, and the building of the relationship between barrons and mac.
as i posted before, I have 5 more to read, and because the ones that i've read so far, i'm eager to read the rest of them before the month ends.

Megan L - Out of the Darkness - I still loved the MCs but it waffled around a lot more than book 1. 3 stars. Thanks!
Sarah - On Dublin Street - Not my favorite coupling. I didn't like Joss much and couldn't work out why Braden persisted! But I'm really pleased to have read this one. 3 stars. Thanks :)
Kaileigh - How I Met Your Father - fun with some classic one-liners. Wished there was more fleshing out of Jack's character. 3.5 stars. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Sassafrass, I finished Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson March 21. I enjoyed the book, for the most part. I'm a little hesitant when reading romance books, I don't like graphic sex scenes, but the scenes in this book weren't that bad,t he characters had depth, it wasn't all about getting them to sleep together. I didn't like John for most of the book, but I did like that he stepped up and took care of his daughter. I wasn't a fan of Mae's, if the whole book had been just about her, I don't think I would have liked it.

Gianna I completed Lord of the Vampires ★★★½ - It was ok, but it wasn't what I expected from Ms. Showalter. I enjoyed it well enough, but I was expecting more.
Joanne On the flip side I adored Alice in Zombieland!!! Such an interesting YA fantasy novel. I loved the concept and the characters. So much fun!
My full reviews are posted to both pages if you're interested. :D

I'm a bad, bad girl for not checking in even once during this challenge, but I've finished all of my recs and I thank you all for your picks. Of the 17 books I only had issues with one of them, and that was mostly because of a personal pet peeve. For the most part, the rest of my books were 4 and 5 star reads. I had an excellent 2 months of reading, thanks :-)
I swear, I LOVE this challenge!!

Ain't Too Proud to Beg - I didn't enjoy this as much as the other books of hers I read. It took me ages to get into it and none of the characters really appealed to me. It wasn't unreadable but it definitely wasn't the usual great read from her.

I'm glad you liked it!
I'll admit to drowning in a flood of Lynn Hagen & Marcy Jacks MM romances at present. I'm really hoping I can refocus on this challenge *real* quickly.
