Donna | 1350 comments Started and finished Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians, #1) by Dianne Duvall , then went right into the next book Night Reigns (Immortal Guardians, #2) by Dianne Duvall . It's not great, but not bad if you like pnr. Kinda a water-downed version of Mathewsons pyte series. Don't hate me but I'm having a terrible time getting through Burned (Fever, #7) by Karen Marie Moning . I feel like she's all over the place and I'm kinda hating the various POVs in this one. First she's Mac, then Lor, then Kat... UGH! I'm gonna finish the book, but like I said, having a hard time getting through it.

I have the Immortal Guardians on my TBR Donna. I haven't read Burned yet but I have heard complaining about the POV.

IGs is good, Tracy. I think you'll like it. And Burned... yeah. Slowly I'm making my way through, but it's rough. I hope it gets better

Lol. I did read it though, and I didn't like where it ended up I was really disappointed. Also I compared it more to Chicagoland Vamps than anything else, I could tell it's got a more UF feel than PNR.

I only buy one a week otherwise I'd go broke. If someone has a minute or two, can they check out my shelf to see if they've read any and tell me what to buy? I am way to indecisive this week! :-)

That's exactly how I've been with IAD! lol And after reading through BDB then moving onto IAD, I realized how much it annoyed me reading through the numerous POV switches with BDB. IAD has been so much more enjoyable in my opinion, not that I don't still love Ward's work.

Omg the BDB POVs, God I have complained about them sooooooo often it's crazy. In another group I'm in I think I've complained a billion times it's just so difficult for me to care. I had to read Xcor's pov and when I first met him I asked if I really had to read his. I skimmed until it got interesting. I think all the POVs detract from the book about who it is about. I don't remember nearly as many POVs in Wrath's book. Hopefully with that new legacy series she's talking about it won't have so many.

I loved this book as well. I'll be reading book 2 for the monthly challenge with men so if anyone wants to buddy read...

I'm reading Sabriel (Abhorsen, #1) by Garth Nix and Exquisite Captive (Dark Caravan Cycle, #1) by Heather Demetrios . I'm farther in Sabriel, and it's really good and interesting, but taking forever to read (totally my fault). Exquisite Captive is really great so far. I like that Nalia seems much older than 19 (so far). However there is a huge issue with infodumping in large amounts. It's interesting but a little too much that's unnecessary.

Oh yup I definitely enjoyed IAD more, and at first the POV switches in BDB annoyed the hell out of me (actually I thought the whole first book was pretty lacking) but I got used to it and I think the fact that they're so different was actually a good thing

I think in IAD I like how each story is completely seperate and you can read them out of order if you want (which is what I did) HOWEVER I found that it was often the ongoing arcs in BDB that kept me hooked, rather than the romance (e.g. With book 6 I had no interest in Phury and Cormia at all, but all the other shit that went down was like WOAH!)

I'm interested to give the Demonica series a go now, I've heard that's good...but I think I should probably wait until I don't have a stack of ARCs waiting for review

You should be able to do it within the app and it depends which app as to where to do it - in iBooks its on the top right hand corner within the actual book (it's the one that's got the two As) it has an option for brightness, text size, whether to have the background as 'white' 'sepia' or 'night' and also a few different font options

The kindle app has pretty much the same thing but it's on the top left side

Bluefire Reader app has a gear symbol (like a settings symbol) on top right within the book that has brightness and the background colour options

And those are all the reading apps I have but I'm sure others are similar too
