Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I loved Darkest Minds and Neverfade I liked most of In The Afterlight (The Darkest Minds, #3) by Alexandra Bracken but I just couldnt get on board with the way it ended I feel like a lot of the first and second book were contradicted and it was just wrapped up so simply. But over all It is a great series and it seems im in the minority of people that read it that gave it a low rating..

Already got it and already read it! LOL! You can actually read it without reading Maybe Someday. However, I think you should wait to read it until you read Maybe Someday, just because you'll understand the characters better.

I've debated Happenstance. I didn't love the BD series mostly because of her writing. Not sure I want to bother if I'm not going to enjoy it.

What was it about her writing you didn't like? I don't think her writing style has changed but the books are very different. Happenstance is a lot more rated PG than BD. It's also just a short novella but only 2.99 so in the budget if you get my drift.

Oh, I have no problems with it having sex in it. I'm ok with that. I just didn't think her writing was good, I guess. It didn't flow well for me. Maybe i'll like it, though. I also really didn't like BD at all. I just thought the story wasn't great. Honestly, I compare everyone to Hoover and Carmack, so if they don't write as well as those two, I don't like it. I had an issue with McAdams Taking Chances, could not get past 20% and with Glines Vincent boys (didn't read the second one because I didn't think the first one was really all that good).
