What Are You Reading? 2015

You are right. It felt like it was being told by a storyteller. That's why I didn't like it. I prefer a story to be told by the people who experienced it so you can feel what they felt, rather than just hearing about. Very different preferences I guess.

Yeah, it was writtent in 3rd person present tense I think. I'm not a huge fan of present tense but third person present tense took even more getting used to. I can't picture it as a movie although it's been a few years since I read it so I'm sure I've forgotten bits and pieces.

OOhh Sara, Cinder & Ella looks really good. Let me know how you like it when you're done.

You can't get more scary than Gretchen Lowell! I heard it was being made into a tv series. A cable channel, so it won't be too censored from the gory parts.

I read the one review that says Fireborn doesn't really have 'romance' per se, is that true? It sounds really good but I need at least a little something to work with!

I haven't heard that Heather but I don't hear a lot of things. Gretchen is one twisted psycho woman for sure.

I was trying to finish
but had to stop listening to it because my son had some friends over and this book is a little twisted for three 14 yo boys. So I started
and can't break away from it to finish LMG.

I loved Graffiti Moon too. I listened to the audio - so had the added charm of Australian accents.

LOVE HoF! Need the next book like right now LOL! Hope you love it as much as I did Ashley.

Just finished

Yup I hear you Tracy :( I still need to read the rest of this series too. I've only read the first book same as you.

I read the first 2 or 3 and it just didn't pull me in so I stopped. Most of the guys on here really like it though.

I really liked this one Veronica. Really looking forward to the next book. I hope you enjoyed it.

I love that series, just finished Heir of Fire a little while ago!

Yup Erin, that's true. There's a past, but still quite heated relationship between the 2 MCs. As well as 2 other romantic interests but it's all mostly physical. But this didn't detract from the story. It was quite a refreshing storyline, interesting take on PNR with loads of unique creatures. And I loved that it's set in Australia :)

This another really good trilogy Tiana. I loved the first 2 books and plan on reading this last one soon. Hoping that it's as great as the first 2.

I actually felt the opposite. I loved the writing style. Very much like a story being told. I think it would be difficult to make it into a movie. A lot would be lost I think.
I listened to the audio, which I thought was beautifully done. It was like listening to a story teller of old. But it took me a bit to figure out how it was written - with 2 threads to the story progressing at different rates through time, and converging at the end. I got the book itself out of the library to refer back to until I figured it out. That helped to get my bearings with the audio.
